Description

The system eliminates red staining from iron and eliminates scale from hard water. Meter based regeneration fleck 5600 Sxt digital control head bypass valve 10 inch x 54 inch structural USA tank treats up to 14 Gpm special fine mesh resin made to last longer in the presence of iron and filter better! eliminate the hard water that causes scale build up and iron that causes red staining with a single system! eliminates scale buildup - hard water causes a white flaky build up (called scale) to form on appliances faucets and just about anything that it comes in regular contact with. By removing the hard water this scale build up is stopped in it's tracks so you don't have to worry about scrubbing it off any more. In addition without the added wear and tear of scale buildup your appliances and fixtures will last longer! removes ferrous iron - this system is able to remove ferrous (clear water) iron and some ferric iron. Removes manganese - manganese is commonly seen as a Black "slimy" stain or build up. Meter based regeneration. This system uses a meter based regeneration process. This means that the water you use is measured and the system only regenerates when it needs to. If water needs increase the system regenerates more often to keep up. If less water is being used the system regenerates less often to conserve water. Fleck 5600 Sxt digital control - the sxt controller is the newest controller from fleck and is built on the tried and true 5600 valve. Installation only takes 1-2 hours with some basic Plumbing skills. Special Note- Due to manufacture availability Tank color may vary. The SXT controller is the newest controller from Fleck. These valves have been tested to run continuously up to 27 years! Features including a back lit LCD display, touch pad controls, 48 hour internal power backup, and a user friendly interface. This system uses a meter based regeneration process. This means that the water you use is measured and the system only regenerates when it needs to. If water needs increase the system regenerates more often to keep up. Fine mesh water softener resin, longer lasting and can remove the highest hardness and some iron too. Conventional softeners can remove small amounts of iron. This special fine mesh resin can remove even more iron because of its compacted environment it can trap a lot more iron then standard water softener resin. This complete system iron eater water softener whole house system is great for removing high amount of hardness and moderates amounts of iron all in one system. • A wise and financially prudent choice
Size: 1" Bypass 48,000 Grains Color: Black
Purchased this system to replace an original which could no longer provide usable water. Installation was simple. Any do it yourself homeowner could tackle it. The main problem areas were iron staining and hard water with a great deal of sediment clogging faucets and shower heads. Initially the problems reduced only minutely. Toilets were still a hassle and showers were still clogging. On a whim I bypassed an original carbon tank and began to see a great improvement. Rust stains slowed and clogging also reduced. Living in Florida very few transplants drink tap water and we are in this group. Water clarity greatly improved to where no yellow or brownish tint is evident. As per the taste it is drinkable but we still use commercial sources. Finally it became clear the old carbon tank was the main rust source as toilets were no longer a continual pain. There must have been a tremendous amount of rust in the water lines that had to clear. Now, after almost a year, the original problems require just routine maintenance. The water is so soft that when I shave using soft soft, the sink fills with suds. Showers clean my wife's hair better than ever (I don't need much at this point in my life). The biggest shock was the silverware. Previously replacing the whole set was a biannual cost, now the drawer shines like it was filled with newly polished silver. (no we don't have real silver). Its like an led light is shinning into the drawer. Costco 40 lb softener salt lasts a full month on average and the system has needed no repairs. The only fear entertained was following a few days of Florida's severe rain, a cloudy display appeared on the timer. Nonetheless, only the area in between the outer/inner seal was affected. It never appeared again, and placing a cover over the display can reduce or eliminate it. My neighbors pay $3-5,000 for systems that don't work as well as this one. Shelling out $700-800 with the piping and installation odds/ends was a true bargain. This ranks as one of the best purchases I've made. Hopefully, its the last one needed, but even if it goes its still a great bargain. BTW, writing reviews is reserved solely to those which are exceptional (Both positive and negative). ... show more

  • Softener/Iron Filter changed my life (style)!!
Size: 1" Bypass 48,000 Grains Color: Black
My well water is exceptionally high in minerals. I purchased the house about a year+ ago and tried to resurrect an existing softener to no avail. The water quality was so poor that the dishwasher was ineffective, the plumbing valves were difficult to operate, hard water stains formed within days and laundry came out dingy. I took my time to really understand the symptoms and explore filtering options before choosing this softener. I'm so glad I did. The softener was fairly easy to install albeit the instructions are photo copies of photo copies and the detail in the pics are difficult to see. I did not need to take advantage of the video as I have installed a few softeners before. Everything arrived in good condition and quicker than estimated which was nice. Within a day or two noticeable differences in water quality became evident. Soap foamed, my skin felt better, the dishwasher cleaned dishes beautifully, plumbing valves began turning freely, laundry whitened and rust stains began to disappear! I waited about two months to write this review to allow for a fair amount of review time. This product does all it purports to do. Oh yeah, and the water tastes great too! It comes out crystal clear and is smooth and tasty. It should be noted that it takes a couple days for the water to lose the chemical taste from the new equipment. Might be nice to mention this in the instructions... It is so nice to have quality water. From washing the car to cooking this product has indeed improved my lifestyle! ... show more

  • I heard good things about this system from my husbands co-workers
Size: 3/4" Bypass 48,000 Grains Color: Blue
I have waited a few months prior to posting my review. I am one of those people who rely on reviews to lead me into buying or not buying. I heard good things about this system from my husbands co-workers. I now have my childhood home that was built in 1974 and ran on well water the whole time. My parents were pushed into purchasing a Culligan water softener and though it helped it certainly did not last. Repairs were constantly being done. The repair man said "you need to update"...of course because that would cost more. The last few years the same softener barely worked and my dad frustrated and on limited income said forget it. The last year I remodeled the home and rented it out as a vacation property. It wasnt long that the old water softener crashed and burned officially. No more limping it along. We went with this system for our extremely high in iron water. It didn't help with the "smell" we were then dealing with but the water clarity and quality improved significantly. With the new install of this system and a much needed hot water heater and a special electric anode rod our water is the best it has ever been. This sytem is great to use and does not suck down the salt the old one once did. It didn't come with a paper manual unfortunately and setup was a bit of pain. Installation wasnt too bad as my hubby is pretty handy. HOWEVER the seller I purchased reached out (A+ Water in Indiana) and worked with me in every way to insure I was happy and it worked for me as it should. Great system for half the price. Very well satisfied! ... show more

  • Customer service that actually answers the phone
Size: 1" Bypass 48,000 Grains Color: Black
Customer service that actually answers the phone. I had a question about the shipping container being abused in transit, and got thru to an American speaking human quickly (on a Friday). They had knowledge of the softener and answered my question quickly. I did a lot of research (you tube mostly) before buying this because of iron and 1200 ppm solids in my well water. During the research I kept running into video's of this company helping people to understand the systems and how to solve issues like the iron in the water. Where to purchase was greatly influenced by their involvement in customer education video's. Install was very straight forward and well laid out in the manual. I am impressed with the soft water we have now and would recommend this supplier to anyone. ... show more

  • Good softener at a fair price
Size: 3/4" Bypass 48,000 Grains Color: Black
It came well packaged and had easy to follow installation instructions. Been using it for about a month and there is a noticeable difference in water quality. It seem to work well and uses little salt per every Regen. We live in southern Michigan and have a very high iron content in our water and the staining has all but disappeared. ... show more

  • Should've done this sooner
Size: 1" Bypass 48,000 Grains Color: Black
All I can say is wow! The only regret I have is not making this purchase sooner... We have well water that has a terrible iron problem. Rust stains on the tub and toilet, funky smell, the whole 9 yards. This unit immediately changed all of that. As soon as we installed it our water became nice and clean. Takes a couple of regenerations to get the 'new' smell out, but after that, GOLDEN! the customer service folks were great in helping us with set up and the delivery was right on time. Definitely recommend this to anyone needing to remove iron and soften your water. Similar units we priced out stated at double the cost of this unit! Great buy. ... show more

  • Random surges of brown water
Size: 1" Bypass 48,000 Grains Color: Black
I have several years experience as a DIY plumber, and have installed water softeners, pressure tanks, water heaters, and filters before. The product was fairly straight forward to install, though it didn’t come with a drain hose, which is necessary to complete the installation. Setup was easy after watching a few videos. My review relates to the job it does removing iron from our water and decreasing hardness. Our previous water softener can from a big box store and worked about 5 years before giving us issues. My intention was to improve my prior setup with this system. So far the water isn’t as soft (after adjusting the hardness level several times) and still has a slight brown coloring to it. In addition, we randomly get surges of really brown water, which is completely unacceptable. Don’t waste your time or money, go with a big box water softener. ... show more
