this worked great. using a small 3 gallon pancake compressor, it kept the drain clear and really sped up the process. item is well made, easy to use. online videos do a better job of discussing the device usage than the actual instructions.

I've been flushing my water heaters annually for years, but never used anything like this, but I'd heard about it and wanted to try it out. I've seen other tools advertised to clean sediment out of water heaters, but most of them were mechanical and had a metal piece that would "flop" around inside the water heater to mechanically agitate the sediment. HECK NO! Too many things inside that could be damaged. This product using only air is incredibly easy to use (literally anyone can do it), and gentle on the unit itself. Biggest advise is to always make sure the sediment buster yellow valve is CLOSED when you hit it with air, otherwise the air will just escape out the hose. I hit it with air several times throughout the draining process, and sure enough - by the end I had a nice collection of extremely fine sand/silt at the end of the garden hose! (significantly more than a normal drain without using the sediment buster). For $30, every homeowner should have one of these... and every plumber should carry one on their trucks as well. It's a simple & effective way to aid in getting crud out of a water heater. A+ all around!

I recently purchased the Sediment Buster Water Heater Cleaning and Flushing Tool, and I have to say, it’s been a game-changer for maintaining my water heater. After using it, I can confidently say this tool is worth every penny. Here’s my experience: Performance The Sediment Buster works exactly as advertised. The air injection process is incredibly effective at breaking up and flushing out sediment from the bottom of the tank. To be honest, I thought this was gonna be a scam item, it started popping up randomly on ads and whatnot so I was suspicious of it but intrigued enough to try it. Well, it actually worked as advertised, the first time I hooked it up it didn't do much a bit of sediment came out (thats with the cold water pressure on) but not much else, but after that first few pumps the sediment just rushed out. Every couple of minutes I would shoot some air through the air valve again just to mix the sediment up and kept doing that till the water was mostly sediment free. I also appreciate the extra inches it added to the hose connector (as the factory drain valve is rather short ) so with this I could hook up my hose no issues. I also appreciated the instructions included that differentiated between draining the tank and flushing the tank and had easy to follow steps.

This made flushing my water heater so much more effective! Easy to use. I immediately saw better results of flushing sediment out as opposed to my old method of just hooking a hose up and draining and refilling it. It broke up a lot of larger pieces.

I purchased this style and the mechanical one. This one far outperformed the one that is attached to the drill. Access to an air compressor is required though. I used a very small compressor and took my time. It removed tons of sediment from my water heater and it no longer makes the banging noise it did before cleaning. Keep an eye on the pressure, as it is possible to go too high and push air into the water line feeding the heater. By alternating adding air and water creating pressure and agitation in the water heater, lots of sediment was removed. When finished, I had introduce air into my house water lines so that did take some time to run its course. Overall, very satisfied with this product and do recommend it over the other (mechanical) style.
