Sediment Buster is a water heater cleaning tool that breaks up sediment clogs, empties tanks with air pressure; stirs, lifts, and removes unwanted dirt, sediment, and minerals from the tank. That idea became the Sediment Buster. We conducted a test by elevating a hose 10 feet and draining a full water heater using only minimal air pressure. Since just 0.433 PSI is required to lift water one foot, as little as 5 PSI of head pressure is enough to move water through a hose and up a flight of stairs. By pulsing air periodically, pressure is maintained while the drain opening remains clear throughout the process. Our master plumber insisted on incorporating a clear viewing window into the tool. Even experienced plumbers can have difficulty confirming proper drainage when the end of the hose is 50 feet away or on another floor. I was skeptical about this thing but I have to say it does everything it says it does! I have drained my hot water tank before and gotten out some sediment but this thing cleared everything out, the 7 minute video explained everything easily and the whole thing took a little over an hour. It probably removed about 3 pounds of sediment. I don’t do a lot of reviews but when something actually works as advertised I take the time to let people know it. This thing works great! 5 stars! Preventive Maintenance is the key to keeping your water heater at its' Best! For my annual flush and clean, I decided to to try this gadget. Wow! Using this well-designed product helped me finish the job much faster, and with the best results! Simple to use, just attach it to your water heater outlet valve, connect your garden hose, and that's it. The product itself is well made, and should last a long time. This sediment Buster really worked! I have tried to flush our water heater a couple of times, and the water was always so slow to drain I never got it fully drained. I watched a video on how to use this tool properly and I was done flushing my water heater in less than an hour. I used a pool skimmer to catch the sediment and there was quite a bit. The clear part of the tool allowed me to see that there was sediment passing through and how fast the water was actually draining. It is so easy to put on and to use. I recently purchased the Sediment Buster Water Heater Cleaning and Flushing Tool, and I have to say, it’s been a game-changer for maintaining my water heater. After using it, I can confidently say this tool is worth every penny. Here’s my experience: Performance The Sediment Buster works exactly as advertised. So, this little thing actually does what it says it is going to do! Life got away from me, and I was late getting my water heater flushed. When I did get to it, the flow was a slow trickle, so I knew there was sediment blocking the entrance. I knew i needed something to clear it, but I didn't want to stick something in and risk damaging the drain valve, and I really didn't want to have to call a plumber for this. So I went online, looking for a handheld thing I could use to inject water into the system to stir things up, and YouTube took me to what turned out to be a great explanation of how water heaters work and how flushing them works, and THEN the presenter said that when the water wouldn't flow, they had a great tool to correct the situation. It hadn't even occurred to me to use air for this, but the science and safety of using air is spot-on! I came here to look for it, and bought it right away! It came quickly, and absolutely did what it was supposed to do! The instructions are very clear and thorough, so make sure to read them, especially the part about making sure the water is 100 degrees F or below before letting it run through the Sediment Buster because it is plastic and will melt! It was extremely easy to install and use. I must have had some big chunks in there, because it took me a few more cycles than the instructions said it would, but it allowed me to stir up the sediment enough in the tank to be able to get the water flowing again. So, be patient and don't give up if water doesn't immediately flow! Remember, too, when you are using it that you are introducing air into the lines, so make sure to run hot water in all your faucets after you are done, because otherwise you might hear clanking in the pipes later that day, and water is supposed to be quiet! I'm excited to take this over to my step-daughters house to help her flush her water heater, too. The construction is simple and it feels well-made, so I feel like this will be in my tool box for a long time, ready whenever I need it! I almost never write reviews, but this simple connector is exactly the right tool for this job, and I'm so excited about it that I wanted to let other people know that it really works, because you never know when things seem like they could be too good to be true! Genius invention! Couldn't believe how much sand, scale and sediment came out versus simply draining the tank. I fired up the compressor and followed the directions, and the nasty stuff came flowing out. There is a repetitive process of air bursts and flushing that really stirs up the crap at the bottom and moves it out the drain. IMPORTANT!!! You MUST USE a full size garden hose to allow the water and sediment to drain. DO NOT use a pocket hose or any other shrinkable type hose as they require water pressure to open up. Because of their small internal diameters, the water and sediment will not be able to exit the tank. ... show more

This is the absolute best way to clean out your water heater. Fast, easy, and clean. One tip….. put an old sock over the end of the outlet hose and it will catch all the junk that comes out the bottom of your water heater. Throw it away once you’re finished.

Easy to install and use. I used it on a water heater that is about 5 years old and was not getting any sediment when I first opened the valve. I figured the water heater was still new enough that I might not be able to collect any sediment from the tank but a couple shots of air through the Sediment Buster stirred the tank and sent some sediment out the tube and into a filter sock I put on the end of the hose connected to the Sediment Buster. It looked a bit cheap in the pictures but it is well made and easily handled the water and air pressure while doing its job. If I lose it, I am buying another one for regular maintenance. ... show more
