Wanted to wait until it had been a while before reviewing, (kind of a long one but they’re in depth answers to questions I had when I was looking into this purchase) we’ve had this now for about 4+ months. Cat took to this right away/loves this and so do we, every Tuesday trash day it’s so convenient to just take the bag out with the cans to the curb and replace it especially for my significant other too. We messed around with the settings for about the first week or two to see what worked best for our cat before figuring out what she liked, found that giving it 3-5 mins before cycling helped wait out her curiosity so she would move on and not trigger the sensor again trying to watch the cleaning or “spin cycle”. If you have the space, as it’s kind of a spaceship so check your measurements plus some surrounding space (also make sure you have an outlet or a nice extension cord as well as we found the provided cable a bit too short for our laundry room), but I think it’s definitely worth it. There’s no scooping and also not really any smell besides the N30/N60 diffusers but I can only speak as a single cat house that empty’s the trash weekly. If you don’t like the provided diffusers smell as some have mentioned (it’s like that in order to mask the poop) you could definitely get one of those plug ins or bathroom timer spray diffusers instead, but for us nothing from the litterbox travels farther than maybe a yard away max. We also have a contingency wall plug in right outside of the laundry room, where the litterbox is, in case guests walk by and our cat just happened to use the restroom at the same time as that can be a bit unavoidable. Our dog had a habit of getting into our old automatic litterbox as a form of acting out which is a big reason for us getting this and it’s completely fixed that issue for obvious reasons. If we had 2 cats I think only emptying the trash weekly would still not be an issue with smell or fill concerns depending on your cats bathroom use, we just like to keep on top of it. We bought the bags (and diffusers) in bulk and keep them in the laundry room cupboard but we’re still working through the first roll of bags, I don’t mind spending the money on them and this spaceship as it’s SAVED US IMMENSE MONEY on litter. The cost has and will continue to come back to us tenfold in savings, and our neat freak cat loves the cleanliness. Note: I have a spayed female cat with IBS so the waste fills up a bit quicker but no other bathroom concerns so overall I haven’t run into any issues with the machine, we have also never owned any litter robots so I can’t speak to their owner experience. I personally however HATED the automatic rake style litterbox. Cons: The only con is the double press OK button for maintenance, it’s kind of annoying the wait and to figure it out at first but I also understand it’s there as a safety feature for my cat and I’m honestly just kind of impatient so take that with a grain of salt. Camera?: (I work at a vet) I do agree that the camera is important for monitoring any future health concerns and if you’re probably going to be spending this kind of money already it’s best to just do it now so that you don’t have to in the future. Also the weight tracking is maybe even more beneficial to monitor loss/gain as that can be a HUGE early indicator of health concerns especially in cats as they typically don't show pain/symptoms.

A few years ago I bought the world’s most expensive litter robot on the market after seeing an ad and watching a few videos. What I really wanted was to never scoop a litter box again. I didn’t care how much it was. What I didn’t think about at the time was how much of a nightmare and headache this robot was going to be to clean!! Was I thinking about the fact that I had to actually clean it when hitting buy now? Nope! I was just ready to no longer have to scoop a litter box again. A few months ago, after another long cleaning session of this expensive robot, I decided to do some litter robot research, and I came across a ladies YouTube video where she was comparing six or 7 litter robots. I watched with intent and pure amazement. She was thorough. My current litter robot was one of the seven. She didn’t even attempt to clean it in her video and I understood why. This PETKIT Purobot Max pro 2 caught my eye. Everything from the camera, microphone, to the sensors to the durability to the quietness to the ease of cleaning made me think why didn’t I do my research before?? This thing is way better than what I have, and then when I heard the price? I was sickened!!! Half the cost of the one I bought?! I immediately added one to my cart on Amazon And was looking forward to its arrival. When it arrived, the instructions were easy to follow on how to put it together. I connected it to my WiFi with ease. I did the software update and added all my babies weights and photos. It was lightweight, but still durable and stable. I had four Sphynx cats at the time and they all were very curious. They each got in, looked around and they ended up using this robot more than the expensive one. I have recently purchased two more because we rescued two more Sphynx cats and it was finally time to make my cleaning cat box days even easier. These boxes are definitely pet-friendly. There are sensors everywhere and I don’t have to worry when one of my girls jumps on top of any of them to watch the spinning globe do its job, it will stop until she gets off. Trust me when I say….BUY THIS!!! You won’t regret it!!

Out of all the brands that I considered, the Petkit Purobot Max Pro 2 was hands down my choice. My wife initially wanted a different more popular brand but she is now loving this. We have 2 cats and one of them initially was hesitant to use it but now both cats are used to it by now and always watches when the machine self-cleans and rotates. It stops rotating when the sensor detects that your pet is near it and will resume cleaning once they are out of range. The camera is so clear and my wife loves the live view, the app notifies you when your cat is using it and also notifies you of any changes in their weight. The size is perfect, it fits perfectly in our bathroom. It automatically deodorizes after every use so you won't even smell any odor. It uses less litter compared to the regular litter box that we used to have. Overall, we are glad we got this self cleaning litter box. The quality and the price is so worth it. It is much cheaper compared to the more popular brand that my wife wanted but it has all the features that we need and love.

After reaching out to me about the missing attachment I can finally say I do like this product a lot, I see what people mean about the scents and deodorizers given. I’d say they smell like “old” as in like its a sanitary smell but like for older folks. I’d say can deal with it and just use the last of what I have bought already, but if you really dont like that sort of smell or would like something to your taste then buy one separately. I can definitely smell the deodorizer since the box is in my room and my bed is really low, but it lasts for about 10-15 mins. Overall I like the amount of customization and settings the device has and does amazing with odor. I’ve yet to smell the odor. I can note however. It’s difficult for the machine to fully cover stool with litter which I do feel like is not the companys fault at least they try with extra settings to help with that. Although with urine it does do a great job at covering since its easier but it tends to smear at the top if you have it set to 2 minutes after use of the bathroom. I think if you want it to not smear you should increase the time, but I find that annoying since it also pairs with stool as well. I would rather the stool be tossed out asap then the pee, but there isnt a choice for that. I wish that was part of the ai camera feature to detect both and put it for the appropriate time of cleaning.

My cats won't go near the Litter-Robot for whatever reason, they just hate it. But I picked this Probot Max Pro up, set it up, and all four of them started using it immediately and apparently enthusiastically. The only real problem with it so far is that because it cycles slowly (for safety), they tend to queue up outside waiting for it, so I guess I'll have to pick up a second one and send the Litter-Robot to someone with less finicky cats. We've been through several different kinds of robot scoopers. HATE the rake style, which are nearly impossible to keep clean, and the cats always find some way to "pause" and poop on, and they always stink, this is the only one I can enthusiastically endorse as worth the money. I have one larger cat (about 12 pounds), two medium sized, and one small-ish. Thanks to the camera, I know the space is just slightly cramped for the larger one, who consequently occasionally leaves a smear on the side. Not a tragedy, the finish is sort of a non-stick and it wipes up, so a couple of times a week I check the camera and take a paper towel to any smears. With four cats, I have to empty it a couple of times a week, which is also fine. I'm not a big fan of the "deodorizing" scent, which smells to me roughly like a clean portapotty, but the scent only lasts a minute or so. I've noticed no litter or poo scent at all so far. I intend to let the "deodorizer" run out and see if it's really necessary. I'm using two different kinds of litter, both seem to work fine. Meijers brand clumping, and Dr Elseys. The cats don't seem to care either way, and the litter box works just fine with both. The device itself is completely quiet. The most noise is a slight hissing sound as the litter slides back into the box after auto-scooping, and the occasional "thump" of a clump dropping into the waste bin. I also really, really like the waste bin. It holds the bag firmly in place, is easy to pull out to empty, and the bags aren't stupid expensive even if you buy the brand name. I suspect other bags would work fine, but there's no reason to find out. In all, this was a great investment. I'm just waiting for another sale to get another one!

This litter box has been an absolute game changer. I’ve had the box for about 7 months now, and it has changed my life for the better. It works exactly as described. I did a lot of research before purchasing. I wanted an automatic litter box that was suitable for two cats and had absolutely no safety issues. I also wanted a large opening, and plenty of room for my bigger cat. This box delivers. My cats are 9 lbs and 15 lbs, and both use it with no problem. To transition them to this box, I left out one of their previous boxes but never cleaned it, and then also provided this new automatic box. They took to the new box very quickly. They are young cats, about 1.5 years old when I got the box, so I think that helped because they were not overly attached to one style of litter box. I use just regular litter from the grocery store, nothing fancy. Don’t use lightweight litter, it doesn’t clump strongly enough. The litterbox literally never smells. My house doesn’t smell at all, it’s amazing. With two cats, I have to change the waste bag about once per week. There are two deodorizing cartridges in this box, one that is dispensed into the box itself after the cat uses the box, and one that sits at the front of the waste container. I’m gonna be real, they both ran out months ago, and I’ve only replaced one of them, and still NO SMELL!! This box does a great job of completely sealing up the waste bin, so there is no chance of smells leaking out. Every once in a while, the box will notify me via app that the waste bin is full, but it isn’t really full—it’s just that the waste has piled up in one spot, so I just wiggle the waste receptacle to spread it more evenly and that solves the problem. I also like that the waste bags are not expensive - I bought an additional package of waste bags so I wouldn’t have to think about it for a while. I only change the waste bag once per week, when the app notifies me. I also love the app. The AI face recognition is a little gimmicky but it actually works! It recognizes my cats accurately. It’s nice to see who is using the box and when. I also like knowing how much they weigh. This is also really nice for when we go out of town. It’s much easier to convince friends and neighbors to come check on my cats if they don’t have to scoop a box! Overall, I would recommend this box to anyone. It’s much cheaper than a litter robot, safer than the cheap $100 boxes, big enough for larger cats, contains smells, and I only have to touch it once per week. It has no safety issues because it is never fully enclosed and the waste bin is on the side, so no risk of a cat being trapped in the box or waste receptacle. It is honestly such a clever design that way! If you’re thinking about this box, DO IT!!!! Free yourself from daily scooping, it is such a life upgrade. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Almost five months into using this litter box, I’ve encountered several inconveniences. Out of the two manual buttons, only one seems to work, which is the opposite of the OK button. Additionally, you can’t manually adjust the settings; you have to go through the app. This is a significant issue considering the $500 price tag I paid for this litter box. It’s clearly not worth the money. Open litter boxes appear to be a much more convenient option. For instance, if you don’t use the same type of litter, like I do with my holistic approach to pet care and use walnut litter, it gets dirty inside. This means you have to wipe it down with a disinfectant wipe and clean it thoroughly, which involves sticking your arm inside and disinfecting everything. You’re still dealing with cat excrement or residue. Overall, I’m extremely unhappy and unsatisfied with my purchase. I wish Pet Kit would replace this litter box and offer me their two smart open litter boxes instead. This one just seems to be incredibly inconvenient.

Great robot litter. It’s easy to use and make life with two cats so much better. I love the recording function and how it captures photos of my pets waste, so I know they are regular and hydrated by what they put out. I also like how the camera captures them walking by or snooping around, they were super cute. The PETKIT robot litter along with tofu litter kept the odor lock down so well. I have this litter box in my living room and it does not smell at all. My two cats adapted to using it within 48hrs. I love how it can recognize each of my cat and record their weight too. Great item for cats owner!
