    • A flimsy but possibly functional barrier
The awning arrived in apparent good condition, with just a few pieces to assemble. I put it together as best I could, but assembly was not trivial: - the instructions were only graphic - 4 screws were either already installed (I think?) or missing - one side of the awning had a clear plastic wrap coating, and the other a white plastic coating. I removed the clear but not the white (as I'm hoping this provides some sun protection: otherwise the clear plastic awning would not). I have no idea if that's correct - I had difficulty getting the two pieces into the plastic spanner that holds then together. The white plastic got pushed and torn a bit during this process - the screw sets for installing into the house were probably made for brick houses, not for wood? And you need a very large drill bit to get the set to fit - I question if it will hold up to weight of any amount of snow, or to strong winds, but I only installed a couple days ago and it hasn't really been tested yet ... show more
