Not hard to put together (I’m pretty handy). Quality is what you’d expect for the price. Metal framing and mechanics seem to be good but fabric is light weight, similar to a Market Umbrella. It appears buying replacement fabric for this brand is easy and not too costly (one of the reasons I chose it). We have had several of these lower cost awnings over the years and overall have been happy with their functionality and longevity. TIP: The wall brackets from our previous awning are larger size with different bolt placement. Not wanting to make new holes in the side of the house, I made the following modification. The bar on this new awning is smaller then our old one. So I cut three pieces ( 2-3 inches) off the old bar to use as spacers. They fit right over the new bar and positioned at each mounting bracket, filled the slack. Thus I was able to use previously installed brackets. ... show more

    • Great value but very poor instructions

This is a great awning for the price but the assembly directions are terrible. The illustrations are so small, it’s impossible to see clearly how things are to go together. A YouTube video was a little helpful but it still took us well over 4 hrs to figure it out. We still have to correct one thing but it will have to wait until the temps outside are cooler. Be careful about purchasing this unless you are very good at deciphering these types of instructions. ... show more

I'm pretty handy. This would be a breeze to install if the directions were helpful at all. There is even a video that you can watch which contradicts the order of putting things together in the booklet. The video is more helpful than the packet. Somewhere between the 2 you'll be able to put it up. The final step of mounting it to the house was easy and it should be stable. A heavier canvas would be nice. This is about the thickness of a patio umbrella. I expect it will last several seasons. Giving you the cheap cutout wrenches would also be nice rather than telling me I need M4 and M7. I believe its a 14mm and 17mm wrench you need. I'd have a box wrench and a ratchet to make life easier. ... show more

So far very satisfied. I’m 66 and installed it by myself. All was very easy until hanging it. Should have 2 people but I hung it by myself. Not smart. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the instructions are less detailed than they should be. If you’re not mechanically inclined you will struggle. Watch the videos. The product arrived promptly in good shape, the instructions were a little difficult to understand . just like putting a puzzle together. it was a 4hr. assembly and installation. the unit works well it does not handle wind well because of the way it is made. With a spring assembly in the arms. for the money it is a good fit for us. just don't go away and leave it open. it opens and closes with ease . ... show more

Only reason this was returned was that we were able to finally get it put together via you tube video Instructions were full of spelling errors grammatically incorrect and poor illustrations Parts were not identified by any label so completely blind in assembly Fabric stains easily and powder coating was missing No bushings or washers to support bolts & brackets ... show more

I'm 76 years old and originally thought I couldn't do it with only the help of my wife. Was I ever wrong. Once up and adjusted, it's awesome. Sure beats the $4,000 ones that companies want to charge. The awning is solid and looks like it's made to last. The instructions leave something to be desired. If you buy these awnings, I strongly recommend that you scan them to PDF and print them magnified or use a tablet where you can zoom in. It did take me a few days to assemble the awning before we were ready to put it up ... but hey, I'm old. Anyway, great product and I can highly recommend it. Good luck :) ... show more
