My heavens this thing is handy! Now, mind you, I got it for an event that needs something that holds 19L (about 5 gallons), so I will be getting a smaller one after the event for my own personal use, but having instant hot water at your fingertips - makes my little tea drinking heart go all pitter-pat, LOL! I got it on sale, so it was quite a good value. Once I got it cleaned out - cycled some water and then lemon water then more water through it, the smell went away and it is working excellently. 19L takes a while to heat up, but it does a a pretty fast job for the size and then you switch it to "keep warm" and it holds it at the point of boiling until you turn it off. I love this water heater so much that I’ve bought it again! Not because it has gone bad, but because I need them in different locations. The stainless steel water holder is the biggest reason I chose this one and the water truly tastes good. I’m VERY picky about the flavor of water even when using it to make tea. I don’t think tea covers up the taste, the water quality always comes through. At home, in addition to herbal tea on demand, I use the hot water to make salt water rinses in the am and pm for my teeth. Warm water upon waking and before bed is so much easy at the push of a button. I also use one camping and take sponge baths with the water and a little tea tree oil (mixed outside the reservoir). Really easy to stay clean and wash the face with the warm water so accessible. The lighted amount of water makes a huge difference in seeing how much is left compared to other models. ... show more

The best feature is the lighted water level. I can actually tell how much water is in the tank. Dents easily but you can pop out the dent by massaging the area. Heats well. Only other down side is the rear plug is not magnetic. I like to unplug it at night. Cleaning should be easy as its stainless inside. How long this last?......most of time the inner plastic lining falls apart. From a environment standpoint, I hope this unit last longer than my Panasonic unit, (2 yrs) Updating the review 1 year later and its still working. really like the lighted water bar as it really makes it easy to see if it needs to be filled. If this unit holds up, the only thing I worry about is the plastics. It is of lower quality than the panasonic and hopefully the plastic doesnt crack or leach chemicals. There isnt a good safety mark on it, as a UL safety mark, the Plastics a checked for suitability. ... show more

Love love love love this boiler!!! My husband and I use this on a daily and we can’t rave about it enough. This inside is a stainless steel which is the main reason I purchased this one, which makes it easy to clean and also there’s no plastic heating up constantly!! There is a small portion that’s plastic that I see (see photo) but it’s only on the lid and it doesn’t touch the hot water pot. I haven’t timed how long is takes to heat up fully but with the amount of times I’ve used it I’ve never had to wait for it to finish. When I click the unlock button a blue light shines and shows how much water is left, which I love because it’s hard to see how much water is left on other machines I’ve used. I have the 5L one and it’s perfect for a family of four who uses hot water on a daily. I was gonna get the smaller one because it was cheaper but I’m so glad I did not because we actually do use the entire 5 liters and have to fill it up every few days. We’ve have it for almost a year now and no complaints and it has held up great since then. It does take up a little space but then so does an electric kettle so no space lost honestly. ... show more

This item was a complete disaster. At the max water line, it takes 90 minutes to heat room temperature water. From there, it will not stop boiling until you remember to switch it to warm, so if you’re entertaining & forget—- you will return to a steaming mess. If you then decide to let it cool, you’ll need your own thermometer to figure out what temperature the water is now at because the “keep warm” feature doesn’t indicate what temperature. The metal is extremely thin. Please be sure you do not have young children anywhere around because the entire unit gets extremely hot. Lastly, when you do finally start filling cups— be sure you have plenty of time because the water flow comes out like a trickle. ... show more

I have no idea how long this will last but if i get a year or two i would be happy. This is the same as the instahot counter faucet system but standalone on the the counter without drilling any holes. Perfect for tea or other hot drinks I use it every day, the stainless steel looks great and it keeps hot even when unplugged for a long time. Its very easy to use a older senior can get their tea without worry's of burns if they follow the user manual. No leaks after a few months so far so i would give this a thumbs up. ... show more
