I don't know what it is about rats and tunnels, but my ratties love playing in them! I got the orange "Niteangel Small Animal Fun Tunnel" this time - I ordered the purple one a month ago. These are great additions for a rat habitat! You can use them for alot of different things. They come compact at about 8" long and 4" wide (diameter), but have an accordion design that allows them to stretch out to around 40" in length. It can be bent around, up and down, which allows for positioning between hammocks, levels and anywhere else you want to connect. It can also be cut in two or more smaller segments.     • Didn't expect my hamster would use this as his toilet....

Didn't expect my hamster would use this as his toilet, but he uses it and it makes him feel like his cage is bigger. I take it out every time I do a full bedding change and wash it thoroughly like it's an accordion with soap and water. Good as new, nice color and happy hamster.

    • Skittish rat loves to hide in it.

My more skittish rat loves to hide in this, it's sorta dark and it's easy to twist. So far there aren't any holes which is good. Sis said it's exactly like a large pop tube lol. Anyways, if the rats love it then it's a win in my book.

I've got a somewhat large Syrian hamster named Bilbo Baggins, and like all members of his kind, he's obsessed with tunnels. Naturally, he's loved this tunnel ever since it arrived and it's been a staple toy in his house that he uses as a hide, a fun place to dart around, or even as a makeshift nest. Just be aware that a determined hamster can easily chew through this plastic and customize the tunnel to their liking. I found that out the hard way with Bilbo when he was young, as he chewed a hole through the bottom so it could serve as a nest entrance to his tunnel in the bedding. Now that he's older and has more bedding to dig and tunnel in, he no longer chews on plastic tunnels, so just keep an eye on your pet and their tunnel.
