This bedding has been great and I recommend it for the following reasons: it has been perfect for my turkeys, ducks & chickens. It has small enough pieces to make a soft bedding, but large enough that my birds don't continuously try to eat it like other bedding's I've tried. The packaging is strong and withstands Portland's exstensive rain. I keep it in a covered area outside until I need it. We also used this for our Chinchilla and she has adapepted to it perfectly. It absorbs extremely well and seems to keep bad odors down, and those who raise ducks know this is a big deal. It also composts VERY well when used up. The 40 liters is too little amount for my coop, but as a suppliment for areas that get exposed or lighter coverage due to animals digging, this is a wonderful bedding to fill in those needs. For smaller cage animals, its perfect, for larger coops... you're going to need a lot more than 40 liters, but I give it 5* overall. ... show more

We absolutely love this bedding for our diamond dove! It’s clean, soft, and does a great job controlling odor, which makes a big difference for a small bird enclosure. It’s also low dust, which is really important for their sensitive respiratory systems. It is a bit on the expensive side, but honestly, you don’t need to use very much at all. A little goes a long way, so one bag lasts much longer than you’d expect, making it worth the price in the long run. Overall, we’ve found it to be high quality, easy to work with, and a great choice for keeping our bird’s space clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend! ... show more

Stepping up to hemp in my chicken coop has been amazing. I'm using the deep litter method, and find the hemp keeps the floor dry and smelling clean. Easy to turn over regularly and composting continues. Highly recommend.

Purchased April 2025. Product was advertised as “dust free,” but in my experience it was noticeably dustier than a lower-priced alternative (Eaton). I contacted the seller, who offered a replacement. After a month of no shipment, I followed up. They eventually provided a UPS tracking number, but it was delivered to a different state. I then requested a refund and received no response.
