The media could not be loaded. I am thoroughly impressed with this cage. I was on the fence for a little while between this and a Critter Nation. I’ve had a Critter Nation cage prior to this one and I was worried that this would seem like a cheap knockoff. I was blown away when it arrived. It was in pristine condition, nothing bent or broken. It uses all the same sized screws so no worry of putting one in the wrong location. It took me about 45 minutes to completely assemble it. (I used a cordless drill with an allen key bit attachment and a torque setting of 12) every piece lined up and every screw secured tight. A bit of advice: as you are assembling the cage, don’t put the screws in tight. Leave some play so that the cage might feel a little wobbly until you get it all assembled, then start at one side and check for squareness. Hold the frame steady and then crank down the screws on a single side. Follow up with the rest. Everything should align the way it is supposed to. The cage feels slightly less heavy construction wise in contrast to a CN, but that makes it easier to relocate when cleaning. This cage *is* suitable for pet rats, even juveniles. The bar spacing is less than a dime width. **see attached image for reference**. This cage is made be used as a bird enclosure or as a small animal cage. In addition to the crossed wire platforms, it came with 6 wooden perches which I hot glued some thin wood project boards to in order to give my rats more area on which to play. It also came with a coiled climbing rope and bell that has a flexible wire inside you can bend to desired shape as well as 8 water and seed cups and smaller sliding door openings for which to utilize them, however, since I won’t be needing to use those, I simply keep the sliding doors closed. (They have a secured semi lock position, so no worries about needing to zip tie them to keep curious rats from opening) Also, this cage is huge! I already had a stand set up for the cage so I ended up not using the one that came with it. The front two doors give you access to all areas of the cage, and if for some reason you aren’t able to get to a far corner, you can use one of the smaller doors. The locks are heavy duty and keep the doors secured and locked in place. All in all, you simply can’t beat this cage for value, size and quality. I am extremely happy about this purchase and so are my rat boys! **UPDATE** I’ve had the cage close to a year now and no complaints. In fact, as my 6 male rats grew bigger, I decided they needed more space and purchased a second cage which I connected to the first, using metal zip ties and the side doors as a pass through. I believe I can do some permanent modifications to take out the side panels and utilize the cages as a single open space though which I plan to try this weekend. Again, this is such a great cage, especially at the price!

I absolutely love this new cage. I am so happy that I found it. I had previously bought her a cage which she had for over five years but it was so flimsy that I knew it was time to replace it and it got so rusted, which is I did not realize. This one is so so so sturdy that you cannot bend any of the bars and all the corners and doors Are pieces of metal bars and not the small ones throughout the cage. Another words you just cannot bend those. The doors are so secure and I love that I don’t have to bend down every time I need to clean it. I try to reach my sugar glider. She absolutely loves her cage as well. I could put her little radio underneath with her food And not have to run around trying to get food for her. It is so accessible and I just turned on her little radio at night and she is so content. So worth every penny spent on it. Thank you.

I love the great size of this with a smaller footprint. It is not as deep as many other cages, so it gives you the height and length without the width, which makes it more versatile when I try to find a space for it in the house. The hardest part may be getting it out of the box, so I suggest opening up both ends and just sliding it out because it's all zip tied together. The other tough part is holding the Allen wrench in place and not dropping it a billionth time while you're trying to put the thing together. It can be tricky putting it together but set aside and evening and no that you're going to have to recheck a few things here and there. I am not handy at all, and I was able to figure it out. It only takes one screw type, so that makes it easier. My rat is in heaven! This is such a spacious cage and takes up very little room in my house I love it! I highly recommend it. It is also very durable and better made than most cages I have used.

Seems to be of good build quality. Assembly isn't hard. I waited until I had it completely together before I tightened everything down, which seemed to help with initial fitment. It is significant upgrade from the collapsible cage it replaced.
