Should I Buy It?

If you're seeking a chic, lightweight and easy-to-assemble coop for a small number of hens and don't mind making a few modifications to enhance its durability, this chicken coop could be a good choice for you. However, if you're looking for something more robust and permanent, it may be worth exploring other options.

  • I have, but Great Thinks about this Item
Size: A
The media could not be loaded. This is a pretty sweet little coop for my 3 young hens. For safety, this is great! All enclosed... Safe from predators and the elements. What a nice hutch. I wish I had bought one long ago. I always hesitated because I was trying not to spend $ but really, this is great. I took some photos of a few minor problems. The wood is cedar and there are some delicate pieces but it arrived safely. I read the reviews, and everyone complained about how small it is. This coop is not that small as indicated by other reviewers, especially if you were already informed of the diameter under the product description with the photo that shows all the dimensions. We all seem to ignore such details and start complaining. The wood is not necessarily the expensive one, but what were you expecting? I love it, my 3 young hens love it - Well, I'm one of the satisfied customers ... show more

  • It Works
Size: A
I ordered this chicken coop for the intended purpose of using it for my rabbits base. I figured a coop meant for chickens would be plenty big for my rabbit. Putting it together took probably an hour and a half. It wasn’t hard by any means to figure it out while watching the video and referring to the instructions. There was plenty of screws. The only downside I would say it a couple of wood pieces were warped and out of shape. But once it was screwed into place with my screw gun, it straightened out for the most part. This thing is not sturdy and if there was a stronger animal than a rabbit wanting to get out or in, it might not hold up. However for me using it for rabbit it works great. I decided to paint the roof white for aesthetic purposes. Over all I am quite pleased with the coop. Hope my review helps others. ... show more

  • Nice crib for the birds
Size: A
Worth the price. Requires some intuition to assemble because the instructions are terrible. Everything you need is there. You get what you pay for. Screening is stapled in from behind and I can easily envision an aggressive dog breaking in. My daughter owns a bulldog so that's a concern for me. Because of that I will be reinforcing the screens with ventilated plexiglass. We have two hens. Plenty of room for them both. Great value for the price. Use some common sense to reinforce it if necessary and the birds will love you for it. ... show more

  • Bantam House
Size: A
This little chicken house was an easy and quick build. Definitely for little chickens, which is what we are planning to use it for. We have ours on 12x12 blocks and in an enclosed pen for extra security. We Thomson water sealed it even though it will not be out in the element ls and upgraded the hardware for the doors. Shipped fast and was well packed! ... show more

  • Cheaply made and too small. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL
Size: A
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COOP!!!! Very cheaply made. Definitely NOT big enough for 4 chickens even with buying the extension run area. Put it together and the next day just from the slight bit of moisture from over night things started to bow. The roof for the nesting box, the sides of the nesting box. The roof itself. ... show more

  • Sturdy
Size: A
Cute little coop, we are acquiring 2 chickens from friends who are moving and I needed something sturdy, but big enough to keep them happy and safe at night from predators. There are no gaps, so that will keep them safe at night when they’re inside. The instructions are iffy and we questioned ourselves a bit but my husband and I figured it out within an hour. It’s small enough that we built it inside and took it through the door after. I’m pleased with it, and since there are only 2 I feel comfortable with the amount of space it offers. I didn’t have any broken pieces, and none of the wood split while drilling the screws into place. The hutch for eggs has a plastic liner to keep water out, and I thought that was a nice touch (especially since it’s cheap). I hope the girls love their new home when they arrive! ... show more

  • Need better QC
Size: A
Horrendous quality control. This whole coop is held together by 8 screws and 4 bolts. Had to reinforce the coop. Pros Coop is cheaper than you could build it altogether for Cons The coop was 2 inches from being square out of the box. Assembly is a little vague but manageable. The coop has to be reinforced and predator proofed. Underneath the nesting area the board simply has nothing securing it. The hasp there was also backwards. The coop itself is also made of very soft wood so it had to have spacers placed to reinforce it. The door is never gonna open how it's arranged either. Definitely not attempting the engineering feat required to make that easy so I'll simply lift it up. Also my roosting perch is split wide. All in all not bad to get your birds into a cage but really needs work. This would be far better if the quality control hadn't missed 2 inches on a cut ... show more

  • Great 1st buy
Size: A
The media could not be loaded. Got this for our 1st mini farm in the back yard and it holds up great. It may seem a little flimsy but once you put it together it holds great. When I ordered the assembly I ordered the extra chicken run for the extra space trust me you will need it.
