Should I Buy It?

If you're seeking a chic, lightweight and easy-to-assemble coop for a small number of hens and don't mind making a few modifications to enhance its durability, this chicken coop could be a good choice for you. However, if you're looking for something more robust and permanent, it may be worth exploring other options.

  • I have, but Great Thinks about this Item
Size: A
The media could not be loaded. This is a pretty sweet little coop for my 3 young hens. For safety, this is great! All enclosed... Safe from predators and the elements. What a nice hutch. I wish I had bought one long ago. I always hesitated because I was trying not to spend $ but really, this is great. I took some photos of a few minor problems. The wood is cedar and there are some delicate pieces but it arrived safely. I read the reviews, and everyone complained about how small it is. This coop is not that small as indicated by other reviewers, especially if you were already informed of the diameter under the product description with the photo that shows all the dimensions. We all seem to ignore such details and start complaining. The wood is not necessarily the expensive one, but what were you expecting? I love it, my 3 young hens love it - Well, I'm one of the satisfied customers ... show more

  • Decent for the price, parts don’t perfectly line up, instructions are a nightmare
Size: A
Overall you get what you pay for and I knew this wasn’t going to be a $500 quality coop. It is decent for the money, decent sized. I have 3 large chickens in it temporarly while they get used to my other girls. It is perfect for what I needed, but the instructions are TRASH, the pictures don’t match the part. It took me 3 times to get the roof on correctly. I had to remove and rescrew the latch for the nesting box as it was not centered and did not line up. ... show more

  • Sturdy
Size: A
Cute little coop, we are acquiring 2 chickens from friends who are moving and I needed something sturdy, but big enough to keep them happy and safe at night from predators. There are no gaps, so that will keep them safe at night when they’re inside. The instructions are iffy and we questioned ourselves a bit but my husband and I figured it out within an hour. It’s small enough that we built it inside and took it through the door after. I’m pleased with it, and since there are only 2 I feel comfortable with the amount of space it offers. I didn’t have any broken pieces, and none of the wood split while drilling the screws into place. The hutch for eggs has a plastic liner to keep water out, and I thought that was a nice touch (especially since it’s cheap). I hope the girls love their new home when they arrive! ... show more

  • You Get What You Pay For
Size: A
So there’s a few things to discuss... there’s barely any videos on how to properly put it together. It took a LONG time to assemble. It’s cheaply made, wood splits if you’re not careful. The instructions were horribly explained and some of the pieces weren’t displayed correctly. The pilot holes are okay for the most part but the roof was not in line with the frame so I had to make my own pilot holes. I am raising my chickens inside for the time being as they’ll have an A-Frame for outside time during the day for spring, summer and fall. If you were to purchase this coop for outside use only, I almost 100% guarantee this coop will NOT protect your chickens. Also this is good for only 2 chickens MAX! At the end of the day it’s a good ā€œhomeā€ for them but you’ll want to set up a chain link cage or something around this so they can wander around outside and stay protected against predators. That’s most likely what I’ll do. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. I could recommend this as a good rabbit hutch too. You could get better use out of this as an indoor hutch than a chicken coop to be completely honest. ... show more

  • Don't buy this
Size: A
I consider myself a pretty handy person but PLEASE, for the sake of your sanity...DO NOT BUY THIS. your chickens are better off outside, playing with coyotes, owls, alligators and big foot than the headache it is to assemble this piece of crap. Every piece of this thing is a different size. Directions? Forget about it. I would be more comfortable setting up a nuclear power plan from my memory of the Simpsons. Whatever pictures the directions give you, do the opposite. None of the hardware is the right size. What hardware do you use? Good question cuz you have no way of knowing. The removable sliding pan doesn't even fit, the holes for the screws don't match up with anything, theyre just there to confuse the living daylights out of you. It is a nicely packaged turd just waiting to ruin 2 hours of your life that you will never get back. ... show more

  • Very cute! Lots of compliments from guests.
Size: A
For the price, this is pretty great. I was able to put this together by myself - and I’m an idiot. IKEA furniture is harder to put together than this. Just focus, take it slow, you’ve got this. And be careful not to split the wood. There’s areas that don’t feel the safest — so I made some altercations. I also put a sealer on the coop, just incase. Caulked some nail holes I messed up - that I didn’t trust. I did notice some areas of the coop wire were broken from transit. But i just repaired what I could, and purchased additional wire. Again, for the price this isn’t going to perfect. But it’s good enough! All in all, very cute. Happy with the purchase. And didn’t break the bank. ... show more

  • Unnecessarily difficult to assemble, not for adult chickens
Size: A
UPDATE: Upon completing the project I can safely say I’m pretty disappointed. The last couple steps couldn’t even be completed because the pre-drilled holes were not lined up. So there was a huge lack of predrilled holes in general, then when there were, they were not aligned!!! For 180 dollars I don’t think it was worth it. Maybe 130, and I’m being generous. Previous review: I needed a YouTube video because the provided instructions were terrible. But it was much easier once I saw it done visually. Not too hard to build, definitely should have a drill and maybe pliers. But without that video I would’ve been pulling my hair out. I think it’s a bit overpriced for what it is, but good enough for my baby chicks until I have a real coop. I don’t think any chickens can live in it as adults, but that’s okay for me because I needed something small. If you want to keep chickens in it for life, I do not recommend. I really wanted to give it a lower score because building it made me mad, but the finished product was fine for what I needed. ... show more

  • This is not a chicken coop, perfect for quails or rabits
Size: A
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is small the house part won't fit more than one grown chicken and that chicken is going to be in a uncomfortable space. But it's sturdy and it lasted us 3 years we had 6 quails in it. Then we gave it to my mother in law who has 2 rabbits in it. It's a good little coop, very small spaced. ... show more
