I am able to safely share a 30 amp (24Amp max) 240V circuit for my EV with an AC compressor (as primary), which seldom gets used, saving me thousands of dollars of electrical work. Works great to split the 240v in my garage so that I can still primarily use it for the dryer but also a240v heater. Make sure to read the instructions to set it up correctly and then this think will work great (little quewrky for the set up but you only need to do it once).

I am using this along with an extension cable for my garage dryer hookup to charge my EV, and it works well. I wasn't able to use the app as the app just gives me an error every time I snap a pic of the QR code on the device, but I didn't really get it for the app functionality anyway. The idea is great and installation was easy. However, I cannot get the maximum capacity from my charger. The charger I have is a 32 Amp unit at 240V, this is beyond the rating of the NEMA 14-30 outlet. My VW ID.4 lets me reduce the charging current but only has one option for this which is ~10 amps. The max sustained load rating for a NEMA 14-30 socket is 24 amps. This means I'm leaving about 14 amps of charging power on the table. It would be really great if the Neocharge could limit the output voltage. Ideally, you could set the output voltage limit. I would set it to 20 amps as I don't trust the wiring in my house to handle at sustained load of 24 amps on this NEMA 14-30 plug. ... show more

Works perfectly. Just remember your outlet output (3 prongs vs 4 prongs) will give you slightly different charge times. 3= slower 4 = faster. I have a 3 prong so instead of 8 hours it more like 10.
