    • Plan on using during Elk Season
After some research on propane heaters I was set on using a Mr. Heater wall heater during my 2013 elk season in Meeker, CO. Unfortunately it and the Buddy heaters have built in Oxygen shut off valves that are prone to failure at high elevation due to the thin air. My father in law suggested the tank top heater as they use the same process as the buddy units, but don't have the oxygen shutoff and therefore are not rated for indoor use. Our tent is a old drafty army wall tent one of my buddies acquired many years ago. It measures 16x48' and is is set up for a wood stove and has multiple vents. My plan is to have the wood stove at one end and the propane heater set on low at the other with several CO detectors and smoke alarms throughout. The stove heats great, but regardless of how much damping we do it burns out about midway through the night. Hopefully Mr. Heater will keep us warm and not kill us all in our sleep during the process! I've been testing it in my garage which is similar in size to the tent, but much more air tight. It hasn't set off any alarms yet. If it does we will probably just use it to heat the tent up in the morning when we are getting ready. It does everything I need it to do. It's easy to light and throws a lot of heat. It will run on one or both heads. I find myself turning it down a lot. I'm happy with the purchase.

This product is great, works as advertised, I am thinking about purchasing more. I was surprised at how long a propane tank lasted with the two heat units going at the Mid level - it pushes plenty of heat!

Strange attachment to the tank but it works ok. Lots of heat output, almost caught my carhartt on fire. Neet a torch to light, a match would never do, I had to adjust the thermocouple closer so it would stay on. I have it on a 40 gl tank so its above the waist, mounted on a 20 it would burn your buns. ... show more

    • The most economical outdoor heat
Not sure how long this product will last, but it performs very well. Because the heat is directional, it is pretty efficient honestly. I didn't need any special valve to hook it up to the propane on the grill. It only takes about 2 minutes to set up. You do need matches, but it isn't scary to light. Overall it's a nice solution and more practical than the big patio heaters which cost 5x more. ... show more

This is exactly what it says it is. My only complaint would be that the level of heat is the same for both burners. As in, you can’t turn one to high and one to low. I knew that when I bought it, so I don’t hold it against the product at all. It’s really nice that the burners move independently, and you MUST have a lighter to get it lit. The instructions say to wait 10 seconds when lighting it holding the button, it really only takes a few. Great heat, great price, great product. I use it in my garage when I’m doing projects, garage is not insulated and I can get it warm in there with this in about 15-20 minutes. This is such an easy and great item. It keeps us so warm when out at outdoor sports events. You will need to buy a propane tank to connect to the unit but it is easily connected. Love that I can control the settings it is very warm and I have never needed to use it beyond the low setting but there is a medium and high heat option for especially colder places. ... show more
