This is exactly what it says it is. My only complaint would be that the level of heat is the same for both burners. As in, you can’t turn one to high and one to low. I knew that when I bought it, so I don’t hold it against the product at all. It’s really nice that the burners move independently, and you MUST have a lighter to get it lit. The instructions say to wait 10 seconds when lighting it holding the button, it really only takes a few. Great heat, great price, great product. I use it in my garage when I’m doing projects, garage is not insulated and I can get it warm in there with this in about 15-20 minutes. If you’re too close to it on high, you will turn it down, it COOKS. ... show more

    • Plan on using during Elk Season
After some research on propane heaters I was set on using a Mr. Heater wall heater during my 2013 elk season in Meeker, CO. Unfortunately it and the Buddy heaters have built in Oxygen shut off valves that are prone to failure at high elevation due to the thin air. My father in law suggested the tank top heater as they use the same process as the buddy units, but don't have the oxygen shutoff and therefore are not rated for indoor use. Our tent is a old drafty army wall tent one of my buddies acquired many years ago. It measures 16x48' and is is set up for a wood stove and has multiple vents. My plan is to have the wood stove at one end and the propane heater set on low at the other with several CO detectors and smoke alarms throughout. The stove heats great, but regardless of how much damping we do it burns out about midway through the night. Hopefully Mr. Heater will keep us warm and not kill us all in our sleep during the process! I've been testing it in my garage which is similar in size to the tent, but much more air tight. It hasn't set off any alarms yet. If it does we will probably just use it to heat the tent up in the morning when we are getting ready. Strange attachment to the tank but it works ok. Lots of heat output, almost caught my carhartt on fire. Neet a torch to light, a match would never do, I had to adjust the thermocouple closer so it would stay on. I have it on a 40 gl tank so its above the waist, mounted on a 20 it would burn your buns. ... show more

It does everything I need it to do. It's easy to light and throws a lot of heat. It will run on one or both heads. I find myself turning it down a lot. I'm happy with the purchase.

Have only used the heating device a few times but I have to say, I should have bought this years ago instead of struggling to keep warm in a very cold garage. Attaches easily to a propane tank and fires up nicely. Head is adjustable with three settings. The elements themselves don't move vertically and movement horizontally are limited. They put out so much heat that it's not really necessary to point them....they heat up everything! No more cold garage in the Winter. Use caution when using this heater - propane relies on oxygen to burn, and if you are using this in an enclosed area, you must be careful not to consume all of the oxygen in room. You must provide ventilation while this thing is in use. Heed the warnings that come with this heater. ... show more

I had a 20+ year old propane heater that is finally dead. I needed a new one. I am just heating a 2 car insulated garage in Northern California. When the garage was in the 40s during a cold snap, 34 degrees outside. (Cold for us, I know) I had the garage at 72 in about 20 minutes. Then I would shut a burner down and have the other to the lowest setting and it maintained 68 - 70 with no problems. I get about a week in the garage for a 3-4 hour wrench session in this way. The negatives (not deal breakers); it does not have an igniter. My old one had a push to spark ignition. The other is to shut down one side you have to shut both off for about a minute. Then the thermocoupler cools off on the one you don’t want to run. Then ignite the other side. ... show more

    • The last heater I will ever buy
I am a personal trainer and due to Covid restrictions, I have to work with my clients outdoors. The weather here in California doesn’t get too cold and for health and comfort reasons, I will only hold sessions if the temperature is above 55 degrees. I use Mr. Heater to help keep my clients comfortable until they are warmed up. This heater pumps out enough heat to combat the cold and the windy conditions until my clients are sweaty and begging to have me turn it off. The only maintenance you will need to do is replace the Thermocouple once in a while. This heater works perfectly for my needs ... show more
