  • Versatility and Quality
Style: Space Heater
I recently purchased the 18,000 BTU Big Buddy Portable Propane Heater in red and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with this product. Not only is it compact and easy to transport, but it also packs a powerful punch when it comes to heating up a space. I appreciate that it doesn't require a fan as well, as sometimes fans can be quite noisy and disruptive. The heater is easy to use and has a variety of safety features that make me feel comfortable using it in my home. Overall, I highly recommend the 18,000 BTU Big Buddy Portable Propane Heater to anyone in need of a reliable and efficient heating solution. ... show more

  • This thing rocks and is so efficient
Style: Space Heater
My wife and I are shocked. Filled 100 pounder I think that's what they call it looks like a bullet 24 gallons I think it was $39 to fill it. This heater the super buddy was put in a mother-in-law apartment it's a one room and we're over 30 days now in the Pacific Northwest temperatures hovering around 30 to 40° outside we're toasty warm inside it's been over 30 days and it's still not run out of propane!!!! This thing is easy to operate aesthetically it's nice to look at very very very easy to hook up the 1 pound cylinders I bought the adapter and the hose and I hook it to a 20 pound cylinder and this hundred pound cylinder and it works flawlessly. I'm totally buying another one to put in the garage in my office ... show more

  • Does not disappoint!
Style: Space Heater
I've had my unit long enough to do some basic testing. And I'd like to preface this with the caveat that my goal is to have an emergency heater. Not something full time!. That means said I have full confidence in its ability to eat my two bedroom apartment in a winter emergency for extended period of time. That does come with an additional caveat in the form of requiring external fuel. But I'll be honest if you bought this thinking you were going to run it at full blast on the internal tanks then you might want to go into recreational Pharmaceuticals or rather than space heating. Because whatever you're on is some good stuff! It chokes down fuel extremely fast. At least compared to a catalytic heater such as those used in tents. But it puts out a comparably higher level of heat. And as for the construction I'm quite satisfied with that as well. I will mention of course that this is the fanless variant but I honestly don't think the fan would make that big of a difference in the long run. D cell batteries don't run a fan for that long! And if you have the power to plug the fan having model in then you can plug in something to generate the heat as well as the fan! So I give this one a five out of five. Very satisfied. ... show more

  • Feel the heat
Style: Space Heater
Bought this for ice fishing and when the power goes out. Puts out a ton of heat. Add a wood stove heater and it can heat my living room on medium in just a few minutes. I used to use a huge kerosene heater when the power went out, but we only lose power a couple of times each winter and dragging it out of the shed was a pain. This is light weight, takes up very little space, and works wonderfully. ... show more

  • Puts out a lot of heat.
Style: Space Heater
I use this hooked up to a 20lb tank with the optional hose, in a 12x12 shed with a high roof and no insulation. On high it’s a ton of heat, on low it’s like a small electric heater. But, heating up the shed is no small task, it takes a while as the heat is right around the unit and you lose most of it rising straight up. I ordered a fan to help heat the lower area more efficiently. So far, using the 20lb, I’m at about 20 hours mostly on high, over 3 days, but that’s not exact and shouldn’t be trusted, however, it lasts a lot longer than my kero torpedo. I’ve seen a few reviews about lighting. I have no problem, lights easily every time. It’s a good quality heater that puts out a ton of heat. I took one star off as even the cheap electric heaters come with a fan, this absolutely should too. edit: I finally got the thermoelectric fan and it makes this unit so much better at heating up a room. Update: coldest day yet since I’ve had it, 33f and windy in same shed mentioned above. Over the course of an hour it went from 33 to 50, 1.5 hours 57 degrees and still rising. You need the fan though. ... show more

  • Works Great
Style: Space Heater
Got this to have for emergencies and camping. Tried it out in my garage and it made it tolerable with 35°F outside temps. I also purchased the filter and hose for using with 20lb. propane tank.

  • The best heater ever.
Style: Space Heater
I have been using electric heaters in my garage, the problem with electric is you can't plug in the tools I use due to over wattage. With the Big Buddy I no longer have this problem. Big Buddy is easy and safe to use. I like the portability and the heat it gives off. I highly recommend Big Buddy.

  • Great Heater *Tips*
Style: Space Heater
This thing really puts out heat. I want to mention a couple things tho. Get the large propane tank adapter. The small 1gal tanks empty really fast. Also, after a few uses mine started whistling pretty loud. If that happens heat it up and use something to press on the edges of the ceramic filaments(carefully). The front is very hot(of course) use caution with children or pets. ... show more
