Wow, High Quality and Works in a Large Garage

Very impressed on this 240V Heater. We installed it in our 2 car garage. We first installed the brackets and and tested the heater attachment to the bracket backed by a 2x4 long piece of wood. To ensure it is easy to hang after we install the 2x4 into the ceiling studs. IT is must easier if you back the brackets with a long 2x4 wood. So far it puts out some hot heat. I am glad we put the 2x4 backing as it gives it another 2inches from the ceiling. The heat is that strong. You need to use a fan to circulate. We had 11F to low 20F freezing hard freezer last week in TX. So I had to protect some items in the garage. Although the setting for heat was 17 or 27. We used both. YOu have a timer you can set up to 24hrs or a bit longer. Although I dont feel safe having something run that long. I gave it a 3-4 hrs timer span to shut off to cool down before I waited to turn it on again for precautions. The garage did get up to around 50Fs but I didnt expect it to warm it since outside was in low teens and windchills was lower. Im happy with the purchase and quality is great. I wish it wasnt so pricey I would have bought 2. Definitely recommend anyone looking for a garage heater. Maybe I might buy for our patio. Bc the 240V is strong heat. Remember you need to have a 240V plus before you buy this. Will upload photos later. ... show more

Keeps us warm on cool nights

We wanted something to provide heat when in our gazebo on a cool night. This works great. Can angle it down and use the remote control to turn on/off and adjust the temperature as needed. Easy to read digital display.

Make sure your wiring is correct per the size you ordered. The larger ones require 220 line. Not a problem for us. But the remote does not work. The unit clicks when we push the buttons (so my batteries are good) but the unit does nothing. Can’t turn it on or off or adjust the heat with the remote. Works well if we push the buttons on the unit but it’s mounted on the ceiling. ... show more

If I'd know how infrared heaters work, I'd have bought one a long time ago, instead of the oil-filled radiator and resistance-type electric space heaters I have bought. I have no central heat and air in my house (long story), and I heat the bedroom and bathroom with space heaters. I've probably bought half a dozen, searching for the most cost-effective and efficient. This thing just absolutely blows them out of the water. It heats you, not the air. It is literally like sitting in the sun on a chilly day, when the sun warms you. I could not love this thing more. You do have to be at least 5-6 feet from it, and they want it mounted about 8 feet off the floor, because the unit itself gets hot enough to burn you. ... show more

No disappointment

I needed a heat source for a motorcycle project I was working on in my detached 2 car concrete unheated garage, with no man door or windows. I live in the new England region and temps can easily drop to the single digits (Fahrenheit). I decided on electric because it has no fumes like a kerosene or diesel heaters, (no windows for me) . I was impressed with this Dr-239 3000w heater, I mounted it on the ceiling (8ft high) and about 8ft away from where my bike sat. At 220v and on a 15amp circuit. I felt the cost to operate was very reasonable as I did have about 50hrs doing my project and my electric bill was effected minimally. The infrared type of heat was certainly a different experience as it keeps you warm but doesn't heat the air space. The timer function is a nice feature to help you keep track of how long you are spending on your project. I would not hesitate buying another, I highly recommend this heater (brand) , they are made in Asia, but engineered and designed in the great USA. ... show more

It was working fine for a few months then all of a sudden it stopped working. No more heat? I can not get it to kick on? The noise is very low. Was impressed with it at the beginning thinking it was a good value now I’m disappointed.

Super high quality heater solution for my garage

This heater is the perfect solution for keeping my two-car attached garage from dipping below freezing at times when the outdoor temperature remains significantly below freezing for days. I mounted heater near the ceiling using the supplied chains by attaching them to the metal struts supporting the garage door rails. I set the heater to about 35F so that it only turns on for those rare times the garage would otherwise dip below freezing. I was able to plug it into the same outlet used by the garage door motors. The units is of extremely high quality. With the remote I can easily control the unit from my internal doorway to the garage. Wish the info listed was correct so we didn't have to spend more time and money.

We have not used the heater yet because the information that was given for the type of wiring needed for the electrician to connect it was incorrect as listed. My husband printed the information and gave it to our electrician and he advised us as to what to buy. We ordered the heater and when we got it out of the box the amount of amps the heater needed was greater than what was listed so we had to get bigger wiring to connect to the heaters. More money and time spent to re-install the correct wiring. Wish the information would have been correctly listed so we didn't have to go through all the extra work and expense. Hopefully it is worth it in the end cause the heater looks great and will work well. I will put in another review when we can actually turn it on. ... show more
