I initially balked at the price, but decided to give it a shot because someone mentioned their arthritic cat loved it. Mine does too! She took to it quickly, and wasn't scared away by the cleaning cycle. It takes normal kitty litter, which I appreciate, and I only need to take litter out every 5 or so days. It fits my slightly larger than usual cat, at 11 pounds, and gives her enough space to move around despite being arthritic. Most importantly, it cleans regularly. The goofball has started to go outside the litterbox unless it's super clean. Cleaning takes about a half hour every month. It's a little unwieldy, so I recommend some kind of scrub brush for the mesh, and a scoop for the litter, because you can't just pour the litter into it. It will get dirty quickly if you don't regularly remove the poop bag, but so long as you do, it works perfectly and I'm super happy. Update: It's been a little over a year, and I am very happy with the litter box. My cat uses it with no problem, I've never had any problems with her being caught inside while it's cleaning itself, and the noise isn't too bad. Most of the time, I don't really notice it, unless I'm in bed trying to fall asleep and the house is quiet. I take about 2 hours to clean this, and do it monthly, and then empty the waste bag about every 5 days. That's a good chunk of time, but overall, less than I was with my previous litter box. have two cons, but they aren't deal breakers. One: the latch can sometimes get kitty litter stuck in it, and then not close properly, creating a mess. Two, my cat is getting older, and less mobile, so she tends to urinate in just one spot, so it gets messier quickly and she tracks wet litter. but that's less a defect with this product, as something to keep in mind in deciding which automatic one is better. maybe the square large one is a better choice if your cat is like mine. Tl:DR: love it, it's worth the money, but it's not magic bullet where you never have to handle kitty litter again.

I've been using the MeoWant Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box for two years now, and I can confidently say it's one of the best litter boxes I've ever owned. As a household with two cats, finding a reliable and easy-to-maintain litter solution is crucial, and this box truly delivers. One of the standout features is its incredible convenience. With two feline friends, I only need to add fresh litter and empty the waste depository once a week. This significantly cuts down on daily scooping and keeps our home much cleaner and fresher. Beyond the daily upkeep, the general cleaning of the unit itself is surprisingly simple. We typically give it a thorough clean every six months, which is a testament to its efficient design. Recently, during our last deep clean, a hinge on one side unfortunately broke. However, my experience with MeoWant's customer support has been absolutely wonderful. So far so good Pros: Love that the app lets me know when itās used, helps me determine when to empty the bag and check the litter. So easy to keep up with now! Emptying bag is super easy. For 2adult cats I change the bag out every 5 days and add litter at the same time. Itās quiet and you can adjust the time it waits until it cleans the litter.. with clumping litter I recommend 5 minutes or so after cat exits box. Cleaning inside has been easy just used damp rag or clean up pre wet towels. The deodorizing tabs that come with it work well to keep the smell at bay. No longer smell cat box when entering bathroom. Cons: Have an idea of where you want this as it is quite big! The little collecting pad that comes with it is pretty useless I used the silicon one I already had as itās easier to empty back into the box. I donāt know if it happens when emptying but there does seem to be a pool of litter under the box. Itās clean litter, so not sure if itās from the cats kicking it out if the box, or if it happens when dumping, I just make a point of checking it when swap the bags. For the size of box and the limit on where it can be put it would have been better if the power cable were longer. All my power outlets seem to be pretty high on the wall in both my bathrooms and laundry room.

It's been months and this litter box is still going strong. I have 3 cats and this litter box has been a game changer. It holds more litter than I originally expected, extends the time between litter purchases and really does cut down the odor. with 3 cats I check the litter box every other day to make sure the levels are good and there isn't any pee clumps stuck to the silicone bottom. (usually there is towards the front but only because of my oldest cat because his always sticks no matter what kind or type of box or litter is used) Yes litter still tracks in front of the box but that is because the cats like to jump in and out and while one never buries his business, another buries excessively. BUT the amount tracked out of this box is significantly less than what was tracked out by the traditional front entrance, hooded litter box we had. Cleaning is easy. Even with 3 cats I only have to replace the bin bag once a week. Bi-weekly I deep clean and it still only takes about 15 minutes; I press the dump button, pick up and shake out the mats, empty the bin, vacuum inside, under, and around the litter box, wipe off the crusty bits with organic disinfectant wipes, dry, reassemble, and enjoy my extra free time. Seriously, 15 minutes max bi-weekly and 30-90secs once a week otherwise. What else? ... OH! Safety - this thing side spins to dump making entrapment less likely since the waste catch is in the drum itself. It has a sensor in the back that detects movement and it is sensitive with great range, I had to turn it to face away from the door into the cat room because it would pause its spin if someone walked by 5 feet away. It also has a weight sensor so if your cat jumps/steps into or on the box while it spins it will pause. You'll know the sensors are working even if not in active movement because a light on the front will turn red if either of those safety checks are triggered. Lastly, I have not had any issues on the app because a prior review mentioned not to update the firmware of the litter box when prompted which avoids the technical issues and that seems to be true since it's still working as programmed to my settings. Speaking of the app it does a pretty good job identifying which cat is in the box unless the cats are of extremely similar weights (i.e. my 11.8 lbs cat eventually gets confused with my 12.4 lbs cat because cat weight can fluctuate 0.2 lbs causing a little overlap there) and it did alert me when one of my cats was taking extra long time in the box, but he was just sitting on top trying to break into the food bin. Remember, this is not for little kittens and the cat must meet the minimum weight requirements to be able to use this litter box safely. I truly recommend this litter box and am already saving to by a second one.

Iām very disappointed with my purchase. Iāve had it for less than nine months. The unit just shut off one day and never Turned back on, even though I had it on a search protector, and didnāt have any power loss. I contacted the manufacture in writing several times. And I was told that I had to send a video in order for them to even consider replacing my unit. Iāve gone back-and-forth with them. Several times Iāve sent them photos. The only thing I cannot send is video, but that wasnāt good enough for them and they have not responded to any more of my emails. I had another unit with another manufacture that I had for four years which was used by two cats, and I never had any issues, but I wanted something smaller. So I went with this brand. Iām so disappointed. If you want to continuously contact customer support that is only available by Email. This is what youāre gonna get with this Company. Donāt waste your money and donāt waste your time.

I have had mine now for almost a year! This is a great auto cat litter machine. It is working well for two very furry ragdoll cats who previously needed two XL litter boxesā¦they adapted so quickly on their ownā¦ i left it for 3-4 days out in the kitchenā¦ not plugged in and without litter. They got used to it and went in and out out of curiosityā¦ then i placed it in the laundry room and plugged it in, set it up and filled it with clean litter plus a little from each of their former litter boxesā¦ i also left one of the old litter boxes there too! By day three or four they were both using tje meowant. I left the other box there about a weekā¦ then just removed it. No problems since. Once in a great while the larger cat positions herself with her backside facing the opening (maybe twice) amd accidentally goes on the matā¦ she doesnāt do it often and its not a change in her pattern. I only mention it because when i was researching auto litter boxes this was mentioned by a few peeps as a problem. That seemed specific to their cat but jad me worried. I would no hesitate to purchase this much less expensive but sturdy and reliable litter box. I like this brand so much better than one of the supposedly top of the line and almost twice the price brands ā¦ its easy to clean and operate and the inside ofcthe drum isn't totally made of soft rubber like the popular brandā¦ Only the bottom of the drum has made of that material and nothing sticks to it because that is where the litter goesā¦ The pricey brand has that material on all of the inside of the drum and I imagine that is why they get a lot of complaints about the difficulty of cleaning the drum because stuff sticks to it. I have not experienced that with this just FYI. I buy the liners from meowant from amazon. I haven't tried off brands. I also use a very pricey litter but with this litter box i use so much less it makes paying for the thick liners not pricey compared to how much litter i neededā¦ my kitties are cery fastidious so i was scooping tow litterboxes several times /dayā¦ now i. An monitor their use whether i am home or away via the app and start an extra cleaning cycle even remotely just for good measure. It is uber quiet. The only complaint i have is like any litter box it doesn't completely contain the odor but no litter box does and this is a significant improvementā¦. I have a very sensitive nose and i spray litter box deodorizer and i sometimes open the bin amd spray some in there. Its not constant but usually only rigjt after they do their businessā¦ i dont smell any urine odor ever. Hope this helps and i have the regular size litter box, not the extra largeā¦ for two kitties, the larger weighing 17lbs.

I have owned this device for over six months and wanted to tell others what they are getting into if they buy this. I own one Litter Robot and one Meowant automatic litter box. I have 3 cats. Here are some comparisons. Pros: -- The Meowant litter box is a lot smaller than the Litter Robot, and it was easier for my small kitten to climb in. It has a smaller footprint to the Litter robot, and is not nearly as tall, so it takes up less space visually. It is similar in size to a large covered standard litter box. -- The mechanism that spins the unit works well and is really quiet. -- The Meowant unit is cheaper than the Litter Robot. Cons: -- The litter receptable in the Meowant unit is very small and I need to clean it out at least every 2 days. If it gets full, the unit keeps going and it doesn't tell you it's full (or maybe it does but the app is utterly useless). My Litter Robot receptacle can go almost a week, and will warn you when it starts to get full. -- My cats are not huge, they weigh 3 pounds, 7 pounds, and 11 pounds. Only the smallest can fit all the way inside the Meowant unit. The other 2 kitties use it with their front legs standing on the floor in front of the unit. The Litter Robot is much roomier and all 3 cats can fit comfortably inside. -- The app doesn't really work. You can't stay signed in so notifications don't really work. If you do get it to work, it doesn't function well. It can't keep track of the different cats like it says it can. For instance, my cat that weights 11 lbs can go in and weigh 11.2 pounds and it will think he's a different cat. Just a useless app. The Litter robot app is FAR from perfect, but much better than that. --The main problem with the Meowant unit is that it doesn't hold the litter. I will add litter and then check a short time later and it's half full again. When this first happened I was confused. Now I know that it's a twofold problem: (1) my cats all try to cover their deposits and, because there's not very much room inside, they end up pawing some litter out of the front, and (2) the litter literally leaks out the bottom. One day I was cleaning up some of the litter around the unit and pushed it back so i could sweep where it had been sitting, and lo and behold, half the litter was underneath the unit in a large pile that covered almost the entirety of the footprint of the unit. There is definitely a gap between the front and the rotating part, and litter definitely goes out there, but there must also be another large gap, perhaps when it spins, in which a lot of litter can pour out. Conclusion: The Meowant little box is a vastly inferior product to the LitterRobot. While the LR is double the price, I think this unit isn't worth buying, unless you have miniature cats and enjoy litter getting everywhere.

We have three cats and we're been considering an automatic litterbox for a couple years now. This one caught our eye during prime day because it has a good deal and decent ratings. It arrived in a large box which had a cut in for handles, making it easy to transport upon arrival. My husband had it unpacked and set up in less than 5 minutes. He said the hardest part was getting the shipping tape off. I was impressed with the instructions, very simple to understand and includes visuals. It comes with set up instructions and a warranty card. It also comes with a small mat for the entrance and a pack of 20 litterbox liners. I downloaded the app right away and noted that it had a few lower ratings. The main issue seems to be that the device needs to connect to a 2.4GHz WiFi network and most people in America have a 5GHz network. We didn't run into any issues because our guest network is set up for 2.4GHz and we use it for 3rd party devices. It took me less than 5 minutes to download the app and sync the litterbox. There is a QR code right on the litterbox to make it even easier. The app allows you to add any number of cats, add their pictures and designate individual weights. Once set up it tracks their weight and frequency of litterbox use. It also allows you to set up auto clean timing, etc. There is a cleaning button which rotates the box, a flatten button which evens out the litter when you are adding new litter, and an empty button which dumps the entire litterbox into the bag for disposal. There is also an indicator light on the front of the box and easy to understand instructions on the manual to translate the different lights. Currently only one of our cats is interested in using it so we haven't gotten to see how well it performs yet. He's about 13lbs and has plenty of room to do his business. A couple of things I immediately noted, I love the safety sensing feature which turns off the cleaning rotation if a pet approaches. It also senses when a pet is inside and doesn't start cleaning until the pet has exited. It's so so quiet that you can't hear it from the other room. My only criticism thus far is that it arrived with a screw that was misaligned so the drum was slightly off kilter but my husband fixed that easily with a screw driver. And the app has some odd breed choices (Garfield, Alley Cat) but no designation for the most common cat types like domestic shorthair/longhair. Both a very minor issues and overall this seems like a great purchase. Overall, for the price point I think this product will meet our needs. The simplicity and ease of use shows that thought was put behind it's engineering. I like the app but it's also possible to use without the app if you don't feel like it.
