  • Works fine, but one tilt-switch lead is short... READ MY NOTE AT TOP
BEFORE buying a replacement thermocouple [TC] with two Tilt-Switch [TS] leads do two things: (1) try lighting after shorting the 2 TS leads to verify the problem isn't a failed TS (see attached pix); (2) remove your TC and measure the length of its leads - or, the length of leads required to reach the TS - as this unit has fairly short wires. A failed TS was my problem as it turned out, so I learned Point 1 the hard way. One of this TC's TS leads barely reached the nearest TS lug - couldn't have reached another 1/4 inch. My heater's around 15 years old... perhaps newer units are more compact. This wire-length issue is the reason I've dropped a star. With the above caveats, the unit works just fine. (Alas, the old one probably still worked fine to!) ... show more

  • Used to repair a Ridgid propane heater...
This works fine as a replacement for a Ridgid propane heater. Home Depot does not sell a replacement thermocouple, and the heater cannot be used (safely) without one. Since this is a non-standard application for this item, some minor rewiring was required, and the brass fitting was not needed. Search YouTube for a tutorial on how to make the needed adaptations. ... show more

  • It took like 20 minutes even after a few glasses of champagne
Shut the front door. Where is the sixth star? We have a Chinese made Inferno SRPH68 that we bought at Orchards. The manufacturer number we called told us we were hosed because the heater was almost three years old, and the thermocouple was out of stock. This one worked!!!! Just take everything apart in logical order amd take pictures and keep track of screws. It took like 20 minutes even after a few glasses of champagne. The best fix. Ever. It saved us hundreds!!!! You rock, Amazon!!! ... show more

  • Works on Harbor Freight SRC30T
I needed a replacement thermocoupler for my Harbor Freight 30,000 BTU tank top heater after one side stopped working. Now both sides of the heater work like new. Shipment was very fast. - - one minor thing was I needed a couple of washers for the thermocoupler (TC) to attach to the heater becasue the old TC had a larger diameter body. ... show more

  • Great product for replacing defective heater elements
Fantastic replacement for rigid forced air heaters. Brought one first to try out, after replacing it’s been running great for over two week. Just purchased two more for my other heaters. Fantastic DYI repair product!

  • Worked great!
Received this morning. Took apart the heater and slipped this guy in. I reused the insulator and used the nuts that came with it to “sandwich” it to the bracket. I had to bend the mount a little to get just the tip in the flame. Put it all back together and my 10 year old heater has a few more years in it. ... show more
