Do not work at all !!!!

  • A nice alternative to prescription hearing aids.
If you have a family member who's struggling with hearing but determined not to see a doctor about it until they have no choice (or don't want to pay thousands for prescription ones), these are a good in-between option. The test we did with these was with my husband who is legally deaf in one ear (and has tinnitus in the other). He can only hear out the bad ear if he has some kind of hearing device in it to amplify the sound. These did work for him. He's able to hear conversations and the TV better with these in his ears than without, and he doesn't get any weird feedback from them and the fit doesn't bother his ears at all. So if going to the doctor or paying a ton for a prescription set is out of the question, these could be a good alternative. They might not be designed and set to your specific hearing needs, but can help and are comfortable enough to wear. ... show more

  • Pretty Good, However No Where Near Custom Hearing Aids...
This is your basic, with some upgrades, hearing aid prototype for those whom are looking for a "no frills" unit. These are not bluetooth and will not connect to your phone, or anything for the matter. However, they do work as proper hearing aids. Like all types, these need an adjustment period. These are supposed to come with three different sized ear pieces, however, only a single small pair, one medium size and one large size piece where included (a quality control issue). This forced us to be able to ony use the small size which was a complete pair. The aids are simple to use with a push of a button for power and volume settings. There are four different environmental settings to choose from and this is sheer personal choice - whichever sounds best for you. They are surprisingly small and can be hidden by laying your hair over them - some discreteness. There is a small visible wire which connects the unit to the ear piece, however it is slightly noticeable. The stabilizing piece is also discrete. The unit conveniently charges within its case, and depending on loudness and setting, the aids can possibly hold up to 20 hours of continuous use. The coin toss is whether there is a variability in adapting time, the incorrect internal ear piece, or whether the unit is not for you. In lieu we could only use the small sized plugs, over time the plugs became itchy within the canal. You are left with a desire to "scratch". Otherwise, they do amplify sounds and get the job done. ... show more

  • Not quite what we thought they would help with
I ordered these Rechargeable Hearing Aids for my mother who's hearing has been on the decline recently. We charged them, and then selected a suitable ear tip size for her. Once we got these in place on her ears, we turned them on and adjusted them. She can hear me better (the person standing in front of her). But, she says that it also blocks out all ambient noise around her (like the TV). She also says that she feels like it makes her voice much louder. As for me, I noticed that she spoke quieter (likely because she felt that her voice was amplified through the hearing aids). So, ultimately, we're undecided if these will benefit her. They helped with somethings, but not with others. She says she feels like she still needs to increase the volume on the TV as she cannot hear the TV 12 feet in front of her. ... show more

  • Did not help
I was really wanting to like this product as it is less expensive than most hearing aids advertised and, the claims to be able to filter out extraneous background noise. However, after using this for almost two weeks I can only say I am extremely disappointed. While it does intensify the sounds a little, no matter which mode I put it in the sound has a very tinny (irritating) echo and worse, it does not filter out ambient background noise. My biggest problem is being able to understand conversation in a restaurant with all the background noise and these hearing aids just seem to intensify the background noise (especially behind me) and worse of all, noises such as footsteps on the floor, clicking of forks and plates, doors shutting are amplified to such an extent that it is totally distracting and I found I had to take out the ear pieces. I wish these had worked as I had hoped but sadly, they do not. ... show more

  • Works great for my purposes
The OTC hearing aids are not real hearing aids. They are hearing amplifiers. They are designed for people with minor to moderate hearing impairment. The kit comes with one pair of hearing amplifiers, charging case, charging cord, 2 ear domes and cleaning tool. Although the hearing amplifiers have noise reduction, they won’t work very well in very noisy places. Best to use these to watch TV and they work really well for that purpose. Good value for the price. ... show more

  • Sensitive and lightweight
The media could not be loaded. It has acceptable quality and sensitivity, is lightweight, and includes a case charger. Simply place it in the case and connect the charger. However, there are a few areas for improvement: it charges with micro USB and does not come with a charging adapter, and the earplugs are available in only two sizes, whereas most others come with three. Despite these issues, it still offers acceptable quality. ... show more

  • Sounds like your in a tunnel
This set of hearing aids really got my attention because if there rechargeable case. I don’t like having to replace batteries and worry about have spares on hand. The case does work to charge the units and the units themselves are small and tuck away behind the ear quite well. But that is about all the good I have to say. The charging cord for the case is an old micro usb style. I don’t know why they didn’t go with the ever popular and available USBc. The sound quality is where I have the most issues. These make you sound like you are diving down a long tunnel. It’s very annoying and quite distracting especially if you are trying to carry on a conversation. I appreciate the time and thought that went into this design but it’s not something I would buy again. You get what you pay for. ... show more
