I highly recommend Volt 4 hearing aids!
I love these hearing aids! I'm a senior and have had some very expensive hearing aids! The quality is fantastic!! My hearing is crystal clear! There is no squealing when I answer the phone, which is great. They re very easy to use! These are nicer than the expensive ones I wore over the years. The price is wonderful. I highly recommend Volt 4 hearing aids! ... show more

Game Changer.
Got this OTV hearing aid to help me with my hearing as I gracefully push close to the age of 50. The hearing aid at first takes some getting use to, and from all I've read actually will be a few weeks before it feels normal. That being said it has helped me with my higher tone hearing levels and at times maybe works to well and I want to take them off just for some extra peace and quiet. Although they have no bluetooth or smartphone capabilities, I still feel the Volt 4 is a great value with an all day battery, compared to more costly prescription based disposable battery type hearing aids. ... show more

Good solution for folks who don't quite need prescription hearing aids.
I'm at that age where I say "huh?" a lot more than I used to, but where full prescription hearing aids aren't warranted. These are a great solution for a use case like mine, where there are times I'd like to be able to hear better. Having not used hearing aids before, I will say it took some fiddling to be sure I had the best setting for my needs, and to know when to switch profiles and when it wouldn't help. They do work by amplifying pretty much everything, which if you've got some hearing loss, may come as a shock when you first hear it; it was a little tough to adjust to what I assume is something near the volume that a 20-year-old is used to hearing on a daily basis. The brain gets used to its inputs, and it'll take a little while to get used to these as a result. They're quite comfortable, and they do disappear almost invisibly into my (small) ears so someone would have to look very closely to tell I'm wearing them from the front. From the back or side is another story, but, I mean, no hearing aid is completely invisible. Adjusting the volume is easy once you know where the buttons are, and quite intuitive. Charging case works great, and is the same implementation as most modern earbuds. I do wish the charging case was a bit more compact. They do work with my glasses, though it took some getting used to how to put them on and tuck them behind my ears to get to the point where they weren't clacking against my glasses (which is quite audible through the hearing aids) and also wasn't pushing my ears out farther than they'd normally stick, which, aside from looking silly, is a long-term comfort issue. My ears are also, as previously mentioned, quite small, so this may not be an issue for you at all. Much less expensive than prescription hearing aids, and until I get to the point where I need those, these will do nicely when I feel the need for a little extra support. ... show more

I am getting used to these Volt 4 OTC hearing aids. You can almost forget you have them on
I am getting used to these Volt 4 OTC hearing aids by MDHearing. You can almost forget you have them in your ears. I have been ignoring all the ads I receive for free hearing tests, but each day that goes by, I get more reminders that maybe it is time for what I don’t want to have to do, which is wear hearing aids. So when the opportunity to try these out I jumped on it. Instead of the $2k or more it costs for prescription hearing aids and all the exams, I have been trying these out at virtually no cost with no exam. Who can beat that? First good thing is I know nothing about hearing aids and I had to dig into the instructions to figure out how to set these up. The documentation is easy to understand and covers all the details, most of which can be found in the short version ‘getting started’ booklet. I was able to figure out the charging part, which was easy, as it is just like my Bluetooth earbuds. The charging case looks just like those and is cool as you basically are charging the case, which is good for 3-4 charges of the aid. It small and easy to carry around (unfortunately, easy to lose, too). I found that they fit comfortably, and they do not fall out of your ear. Even when I put on and off my reading glasses (which is often) they do not fall out, as long as I don’t bump them too hard that is. They have come out a few times as I forget they are there. Meanwhile, I don’t take these out in public very much. As much as we’d all like them to be completely invisible, people can still see them. If you’ve never worn them before, people will surely notice. So for now I am just practicing around the home and in places where I don’t know anyone at all. They are really helpful, especially when there is a lot of background noise, as these seem to filter out the buzz around you when people are talking, or machines are making noise in the background, or lots of chatter. I give them a 5 Star! ... show more

Easy to set up, good sound; takes a minute to get used to.
I was pleased with how straightforward these were to get started with. The instructions are easy to follow, and they’re essentially ready to use right out of the box without a complicated setup process (which is great for the elderly folks who have trouble with any electronics). One of the best features is the rechargeable charging case. It works like a pair of wireless earbuds, you can recharge the hearing aids on the go without having to find a wall outlet, which is really convenient. The hearing aids are lightweight and fit comfortably behind the ear. I like that they’re designed to work alongside glasses. Once they’re in place, they’re pretty discreet. The sound is adjustable, and there are multiple settings that help tailor the listening experience to any situation. There is definitely an adjustment period when getting used to hearing aids, so don’t expect everything to feel perfect on day one… it takes a bit of time getting used to them. Overall, these seem like a good OTC option for someone looking for hearing aids. The portable charging case, comfortable fit, and simple setup are the standout features for me on this pair of hearing aids. ... show more

Great sound and comfortable
These MDHearing VOLT 4 OTC hearing aids are very nice. These are higher end OTC hearing aids. I've tried other OTC hearing aids and these are the best ones I have tried. The hearing aids are the behind-the-ear type with an attached ear piece. The both the behind-the-ear portion and the ear piece are very comfortable. I can wear these all day without any comfort issues. The amplified sound on these is very good. It has dual directional microphones with noise cancellation that actually works. Some other hearing aids claim to have noise cancellation, but I haven't tried any that work as good as these. This comes with a charging case which allows you to recharge the hearing aids with up to 3 full charges. The battery life of the hearing aids is great and easily lasts all day long. The hearing aids have a nice volume / program switch directly on the behind-the-ear piece. It is easy to adjust the sound and volume. You should know that as with all hearing aids, it will take a while for you to get used to wearing them. Your brain has to adapt a bit to the difference in sound. I'd recommend giving it a week or two to allow yourself to adapt to the sound. ... show more

Much better than my doctor prescribed hearing aids
I was prescribed hearing aids two years ago and overall I was disappointed with the hearing aids I got from the doctor. . When I tried the Volt 4 OTC hearing aids I was shocked that they were actually better than the really expensive ones. First the packaging was very nice, the aids were well protected during shipping. Documentation is provided and very thorough, included a detailed user manual as well as a getting started booklet. I have tried them for a few days now and I have found them to be much better all around. The fit is comfortable and you can forget you are wearing them. The tubes are fitted for right or left ears and are very stiff and have small stabilizer bars, (just little plastic pieces) which helps keep them in place. I haven't found any info on how many levels of volume it has, so I counted going both up and down, and I counted 10 volume levels. That gives you a level of customization I've not found in ANY other hearing aids. There are 4 environment settings, 1 beep-Quiet, 2 beeps-Social, 3 beeps-Noisy, and 4 beeps-Restaurant. The charging case is a nice size for your pocket or purse. It has a positive closure keeping the aids in place and charging. As I mentioned earlier the tubes are stiff and seem that they will making charging a challenge. But the case is designed to hold the hearing aids firmly in the charging position. MDHearing has technicians you can call to assist you in setup if needed. I would recommend making that call if this is your first set of hearing aids. They have a website where you can view several videos helping you learn about your new aids. You can also order replacement parts, including new tubes. Everything adds up to a very superior set of hearing aids and a very reasonable price. ... show more
