Be sure to watch the installation video at least once before attempting to install this awning. The instructions that came with mine followed the video very close. This is not an install for someone without some mechanical knowledge to do. Very pleased with the quality and ease of installation. 4/5/2024 awning has been up for about 6 months now and I am very pleased with the operation and looks of the awning. Don’t forget to roll her up when you leave the premises. When extended it is very susceptible to wind damage. Other than that I have had no problems with the product. Again I stress; watch the video at least once before attempting the installation. 10/21/24 Been up for almost a year now; been through 2 hurricanes; Helene and Milton, no structural damage, the only problem I had was the valance was whipped by the winds and frayed on the edges. Tried to contact Mcombo by phone # on instructions, but to no avail; I wanted to purchase another valance to replace the frayed one. I’ll just repair it myself. Final review after install. Still not able to give 5 Stars, 4 Stars best I can give and that is for poor instructions for install. But, everything else from the material and how it is built is to the tech/help is a 5 star. My suggestion is when you buy and receive your canopy, before you start install, ready instructions three and four times and find each piece and how it goes together/with other parts. There will be missing details but an email, like I did, to the manufacturer asking exact questions “how to”, “where it is set to” etc. will get you through it. “Put it all together” on the ground so you can see it all. Obviously you can put it together on the ground but you can enough to see most of the “where does” and “how does” questions. Good luck Giving this item a three star at the offset because of the three items listed below, not major or cannot be overcome, just should be easier for consumer. Working on installing, seems to be going well. Possibly update when complete. Three things the manufacturer could do is provide more/better details. The spacing of hangers (had to contact to find out - response from them were A-1!!!). What else would be helpful (I had to figure) what the height of the top of the canopy bracket is from a fixed point, like from bolt hole in bracket. Told how much space above the canopy is needed, just not where the hanger with bracket would be to keep that distance. Lastly, could have made a note on the main instruction page/picture sequence that there was roller assembly that needs to be installed before joining main tubing, the assembly is in a separate bag/envelope with those instructions. ... show more

I read all the reviews and was apprehensive about purchasing because of the service issues. Don't worry, they were very responsive and corrected a minor, but important, product issue. Let me start by saying that I thought I only needed one for my backyard and was so pleased with the shade and material quality that I bought a second one several weeks later, hence the minot product issue. The color and style were different even though the description on the Amazon site was the same. If you are going to buy more than one, buy them at the same time to ensure consistency. I had two different scalloped edges and fabric colors and when I contacted customer support (with pictures to prove issue) they sent me a replacement fabric. Warning.... biggest bitch were the instructions. I followed the instructions as best I could, you can tell English is a second (maybe third language). The pictures and descriptions do not match. Here are some helpful hints: 1. make sure you have plenty of space to assemble, 12 feet is longer than you think 2. find a strong person to help carry and eventually hold the unit in place while you secure it 3. plan ahead. Make sure you install the brackets high enough on the wall, when it is unfurled, the angle of the awning slopes down. Remember it goes out 10 feet so it will be 6- 10 inches lower than the bracket. There is a set screw to adjust, but with a bigger unit the flex is substantial. 4. use at least 3 ladders. The end two ladders will hold the unit while the third ladder is to move and secure the unit into the brackets 5. anticipate that the placement of the brackets (that are secured to the wall) are critical. For example, a 12' product should have one bracket at center and then XX inches from center. I drilled several holes into concrete only to find that the end bracket was too close to the winding mechanism, so I had to redrill closer to the center. 6. you should retract if there will be strong winds. Here in FL the afternoon thunderstorms can be intense. So far the units are holding up well. Good luck, I wish I could give them 4.5 stars ... show more
