  • Hard to assemble, great after!
Size: 40''x120'' Color: Dark Brown Canopy/Black Bracket
Difficult to keep together to assemble. But great aftera good enough to reinstall at a second location. Once it's together it's solid!

  • Mala calidad
Size: 40''x120'' Color: White Canopy/Pure White Bracket

  • Buyer Beware: Won't work with 16" studs
Size: 40''x120'' Color: White Canopy/Pure White Bracket
We bought this to hang outside off the side of out house over an enclosed pet sanctuary. It would have been perfect except for the fact that the brackets are 38" apart which wouldn't hit any of our studs (16" US standard spacing). We measured and were about to hang before realizing only one of the brackets could possibly hit a stud. If we hung this awning we would be at risk of it falling onto our pets and potentially damaging our home. Definitely disappointed, but the seller did accept our return. ... show more

  • Missing screws, split panels, and useless anchors
Size: 40''x120'' Color: White Canopy/Black Bracket
Problem 1: This item was supposed to ship with 8 small screws to attach the front and rear rails. They were missing from the package. Problem2: The included 3/8" x 3" anchors are mostly suitable for concrete. For wood (the most common construction material in most North American homes), you would need lag screws or other types of anchors, fasteners, or bolts. Problem 3: The panels in this model came split as 2 half-panels to be joined together in the middle using a "plastic connecting rod". I had installed an awning similar to these in the past that featured full panels. I am assuming they chose this cheaper alternative over the full panel to make the package smaller for shipping and save on shipping costs. Well, there are at least 4 problems with their connecting rod method: a) it's extremely difficult to insert the panels into the rails of the rod. I eventually figured I needed to use some WD-40 to make things slide easier. b) once assembled, the panel edges at the junction are thicker and much more difficult to insert into the brackets. c) aesthetically, it doesn't look as good as the full-panel version (which I have assembled in the past from a different brand). d) it forces the panels' ribs to be parallel to the front and rear edges rather than perpendicular to them, which is less strong from a structural perspective and more prone to buckling. Anyway, I had to do a first trip to the hardware store to get 3/8" lag screws. I came back home and realized the included washers with the concrete anchors were a hair bit too small for the lag screws. Second trip to get those. A 3rd trip was needed once I discovered the package was missing the 8 small screws to fasten the front and rear rails. The customer service was quick to reply (to their credit) and mentioned they'd be sending me the 8 missing screws but the problem was that I had half of the thing hanging in mid-installation and expecting rain any hour. I couldn't wait for the screws to arrive, I had to go buy the screws and get the job finished on-time. If you are willing to go through all the hassle above, these awnings still do the job, but ll-in-all the installation experience wasn't good. ... show more

  • Nice Product
Size: 40''x120'' Color: Dark Brown Canopy/Black Bracket
Love the design and colors. When assembled and installed correctly, it's sturdy and relatively simple. Huge Tips, especially for the 120"---do NOT drill mounting holes in advance---read on... 1. caulk the channels in the brackets before inserting the poly sheets 2. assemble the entire thing promptly after caulking, make sure everything is square and no tension 3. let it sit overnight 4. drill ONLY a top corner hole on one side where it will be mounted 5. get a friend or two or some skyhooks and hold the unit where it will be installed and install the first screw mounting bolt firmly but still allow the unit to swivel around the bolt with a little effort. 6. make sure it is level and mark the other top corner, drill, and install mounting bolt 7. drill and install the other mount bolts with the awning in situ--- 8. put some backer rod on the underside of the awning where it mounts to structure and caulk across the gap from the top 9. DONE 10--OPTION--you COULD assemble individual sections and mount section---make sure the first section is LEVEL if so cuz any out-of-level will be exaggerated across the next two sections, and there is NO room for adjustment---it will create tension EVEN if you drill the holes in situ--- 11. the key is NOT to drill mounting holes in advance AND to be LEVEL---no matter how closely you measure, they will be off a little and that will create tension between the brackets as you mount them which shows up in the panels---the tiniest amount of tension is greatly exaggerated across the width and depth of the poly panels ... show more

  • Product is what we expected, but instructions were not very helpful or complete
Size: 40''x40'' Color: Dark Brown Canopy/Black Bracket
It took two to figure out the instructions to put it together. There were four small screws that needed to be installed in each of the corners to keep the brackets tight against the extruded aluminum frame pieces once the thing has been fully assembled. If you don't put those screws in, you will have trouble handling it without the thing falling apart. Nowhere was there any mention in the instructions about putting these screws in. After we found the screws, we saw the holes and figured out what they were for. It made handling the assembled piece much easier. The hardware provided for mounting this was four very large expansion bolts which one might need if you were installing it in brick or concrete block. We were mounting it on a greenhouse doorway on 2 x 4 studs covered with a vinyl sheeting just like what was provided for the awning sheeting. Consequently, we opted to use some smaller lag bolts and put some spacers in the bracket holes which were much too big for the lag bolts we used. We got it installed above the doorway, it looks nice and we hope it will hold up--time will tell. Since we don't get snow here, weight shouldn't be a concern. ... show more
