No subscription is needed and an micro SD card fits in it. The quality on it is excellent and super clear. The sound is great as well. Connects right up to the wifi and setup on it is extremely easy. If you do opt for the subscription, you do get many more options, many of which we did not need at this time. We got this camera to watch our new kitten at home. It was ridiculously easy to set up. It has stayed connected with zero issues. The controls and menu are intuitive. The picture quality is amazing. I can see in our dark living room perfectly at night when the kitten starts her night time zoomies. No more wondering if she's playing with her toys or destroying my house. I just check my phone. The camera can be set to alert whenever there's motion detection. There is so many options you can turn on or off. They have free one day cloud service or different paid tiers. None of the plans seem overpriced. I also bought a 128GB SD card for my own local back up. I traveled abroad and wanted to keep an eye on my cat, as well as be able to chat with her from a distance. This camera was AMAZING for that! I was able to communicate and hear my kitty, as well as move the camera around from my phone, even from a different country!! You don't have to buy any subscription plans and it detects, records and notifies your phone when motion or sounds occur in front of the camera. If you wish to keep the recording for a long time, then you either need to record your screen or pay for the subscription. I've been using it without a subscription with no problem, just checking the short motion clips it records. Really awesome! I already gifted one of these to a family member and will gift more later this year as it is a really good device to have for safety and peace of mind when traveling or just working. The image quality is great too, and it has a night vision mode. The audio can be a bit iffy on quality at times, but honestly, I don't even think I've had many issues worth noting. This is good for watching my dog while I’m at work. The app is easy to use and the controls on the live stream is good as well. Adjusting the camera is very easy but sometimes can be a bit delayed but it works for me. Picture quality is good and you can edit to a higher quality.

This is my second camera from Blurams and it is all you need. Instantly picks up motion detection, no need to buy cloud service, easy set up, great app. You can buy cloud service for continuous recording or “longer” recordings but the standard free records each motion at about 12 secs each time which is plenty. If only they made this camera durable enough for the weather to be used in outdoor security. I broke my first one on accident by actually placing it outside and it got fried from the rain. I made a setup indoors to prevent this and it literally picks up the bushes moving, cars driving by, and provides the perfect amount of security to watch the yard from inside. I wasted time and money on other cameras for them to not pick up motion and setting them up outside and this one is literally plug and go. Extremely simple setup and easy to use.
