I've now been using Manic Panic Cotton Candy for 7 months. (Why did I wait so long to get up the courage to dye my hair pink?) This is definitely a keeper. The color goes well with my complexion which should be true for pink, but not all pinks are "created equally". I read many reviews of how people don't get the color on the bottle. You must bleach your hair to almost white to achieve the Cottton Candy pink on the bottle. In this photo, I was at the 4-week stage and as it washes out, it starts to turn a salmon/peach color. But the more I dye it, the more I've learned. I have to bleach my hair every 6 weeks. Then I dye it 3 times during those 6 weeks of no bleach. Since its vegan, it won't damage your hair like bleach does. I leave the Cotton Candy in a minimum of 2 hours, sometimes 5 hours if I have nothing going on. The more often you keep putting the Cotton Candy in, the more your hair shafts will hold onto the color, but you must start with the "white hair canvas". Then you'll be amazed at how much your hair is the same as the color on the bottle and how gorgeous the color will be, plus how soft your hair will feel. My one regret was buying the two-pack of the Manic Panic Cotton Candy. I always buy 2 bottles at a time and noticed that Amazon sold it in a two-pack. Not paying attention to the price until I got my credit card bill, I was shocked that Amazon charges extra for the two-pack. It's about $2.00 cheaper to buy 2 bottles than the two-pack. I know that sounds crazy, but I made that mistake only once. There is no difference in size or quantity/volume of 2 separate bottles than the two-pack. So anyone else who buys the Cotton Candy Amplified, buy the 2 bottles. Amazon doesn't need our extra hard-earned dollars. As for whether the Amplified actually makes a difference, I'm not quite sure. This is what I started using originally, so I don't want to change a good thing. However, I also add 3 drops of Pink Shrine into the Manic Panic Cotton Candy and mix it really well in a plastic hair dyeing bowl. I then saturate my hair, using a hair dyeing brush, after first separating my hair into quarters. My hair is fairly short, but I use 2 bottles of Manic Panic every time I dye it. Then I place a plastic shower cap on my head and 2+ hours later, I have the color that's on the bottle. It's hard work to keep up with this Cotton Candy pink, but for me, it works! ... show more

Good for the price just bleeds a lot every time you wash and ig it didn’t fade to fast maybe a month and it kinda lighted up to a pink tone in my hair so you will have to continue use if you plan on having this as a hair color for awhile

High Performance hair dye here! The vibrant color lasts for months when cared for properly. I suggest only using manic panic anti fading shampoo (or similar products) instead of conventional shampoo to avoid fading. My hair had a medium brown balayage before I colored it, and my natural hair is the darkest brown/black (like an 80% cacao chocolate bar, lol). I wasn't sure how it was going to turn up, if at all, and I was pleasantly surprised and in LOVE! On my hair, it became a deep but vibrant red/magenta, which is what I wanted. As it fades it became a very fun transitional color (like a light pink ombre). I have a medium-length bobbed course and thick hair, and one bottle did the job just right, but if you have anything longer than that I recommend a second bottle just in case. Pro tips (application) - Cover the edges of your face/neck with Vasoline/Aquaphor/balm, and have makeup/wet wipes to clean up other spots as you go (witch hazel and nail polish remover do wonders for stubborn spots). Section out your hair into smaller pieces and use a fine-toothed comb or brush to make sure it covers as much as possible (I pace myself and make sure I get all sections once before going back to catch the missing spots). Avoid your roots as they will stain for the foreseeable future (mind where you part your hair especially!) Use gloves during and while rinsing (unless you want to be caught red-handed, literally.) If you don't have a shower cap handy, I used a clean plastic grocery bag and hair clips to keep it taught. If it helps, pour out the solution a little at a time into a disposable bowl (or line one with foil/plastic, like me) so you don't waste product. Pro tips (post-application) - Use a dark-colored towel to dry your hair. Rinse in cold water, it will take a little while (and maybe wipe down your shower/tub with some bleach right after). Have a friend check for any remaining dye stains on your back/neck/shoulders and wipe them (so you don't look like you survived getting mauled by a bear, but if you're into that go for it). Use a conditioning hair mask the first few washes to keep your hair looking sleek and soft. If you sleep with wet hair (like me) either put a cap over your hair, lay a towel over your pillowcase, or dry it before sleep the first few washes (some color may transfer while wet). Lastly, enjoy it! I get so many compliments of people adoring my color. I will continue to use this brand, I literally have nothing bad to say about them so far.
