I bleached my roots to a level 8, and applied Arctic Fox Purple AF onto them. Honestly, turned out darker than I expected, but I've heard good things about the way it looks as it fades, so I'm not too worried about that, and I still love the color. The back of my head lifted a little more than the front and it's brighter by a bit, but it's hard to get a picture of that lol. I recommend this color, but I can't say how long it lasts because I just dyed my roots 3 days ago and have only rinsed my hair once so far. My scalp is definitely purple so beware of purple nails if you scratch ur head. I love the way it smells btw, I've never thought it was overwhelming or too strong. I've used other colors from this brand in the past (sunset orange and whatever the red is called), and it faded within 2-3 weeks but honestly, I was 16/17 so I had no hair care routine and always washed my hair in hot water, so that's prolly why ngl. I used Arctic Fox Semi-Permanent Hair Dye in Purple AF on my eight-year-old, who has naturally darker brown hair, and we had a great experience overall. Because her hair is dark, the purple came out very subtle—more of a soft tint that showed best in sunlight rather than a bold, vibrant purple. This was exactly what we were hoping for: fun and age-appropriate without being too dramatic. The dye was easy to apply and had a pleasant scent compared to many hair dyes. I also appreciated that it’s vegan, cruelty-free, ammonia-free, and conditioning, which made me feel much more comfortable using it on a child’s hair. Her hair felt soft and healthy afterward, not dry or damaged. With regular washing, the color lasted about 4–6 weeks, fading gradually and evenly without any harsh or patchy stages. I love Arctic Fox Semi-Permanent Hair Dye. I have used a few different colors (Green doesn't usually show in my hair (Dirty strawberry blond (or dark blonde/light brunette)), but blues and purples show up great. THE SMELL IS AMAZING!!!!!! Sorry to shout it but WOW! It smells like grape... to me anyway. And my hair feels so healthy after rinsing it out). Love it! If you are looking for semi-permanent hair color that doesn't leave your hair feeling dead or icky, then this is for you. For extra measure, I would also recommend their brand of Resurrection shampoo and conditioner. A wide variety of colors to choose from for a decent price. Ships quickly. works great looks cute and shows well with my brown hair. comes out super fast tho... def gunna need lost of bottles if you're gunna keep doing touch ups lol. also mixing their teal/aqua color is super cute and dark. looks great if you bleach or have faded color already!!(also the color alone with bleached/faded color looks sooo good and def very purple!) i just needed two bottles (used half of one once and then the rest and another half the second time, i have long layered curly wavy hair). it smells great too and keeps my hair supper soft!! definitely recommend !!!<3<3 ... show more

Super easy to use. Since it's free of ammonia and harmful chemicals, leaving it on longer for the color to set doesn't damage and dry out your hair. I had gone through two rounds of bleach before doing this because I wanted the color to be dramatic but it made my hair very dry and brittle. After using the Arctic Fox, my hair feels nice and soft again. I used Purple AF and I love the way it turned out. When I say purple is my favorite color, THIS is the purple I'm talking about. Deep and rich and intense and jewel-toned. The photo doesn't do it justice at all . In the light of day, it's SO vivid. Not like "my hair is brown with a purple tinge", but thoroughly eggplant, grape Kool-aid, Smucker's Jam PURPLE. Love it so much. I have really thick bra-strap length locs and it only took 1.5 of the 8oz bottles to do my whole head roots to tips. For context, with most box dyes, it takes 4 to 5 boxes to do my whole head. It took a bit of time and effort to rinse thoroughly, but it was pretty easy and didn't leave behind a filmy heavy feeling like I got using Overtone in the past. This is cheaper which is a bonus. If I don't wear my bonnet to sleep, it DOES transfer a little on my pillowcase, so maybe avoid wearing white shirts when using this. Overall, highly recommend. ... show more
