My husband installed these on the sides of our deck to give us some privacy from our neighbors. He said they installed easily. They are very easy to operate and stay in place when they are in their open position. It doesn't take much of a breeze to make them kind of blow around. I wish there was a locking mechanism to keep them from "ballooning" (I'm not sure of the proper word to use here.) We just don't use them when it's breezy outside. They definitely give us privacy, and I would buy them again....If they had a locking mechanism for the fabric it would even be better!!!

Great product, but one additional feature would make it even better. It needs a feature that allows you to lock the retracting mechanism so it isn’t constantly expanding to let more material out with every tiny gust of wind that comes along, then retracting (noisily) back when wind calms. Once you expand it and secure the moving end in place, you should be able to lock the mechanism and keep it taut. Despite the lack of that feature - still a good and helpful product and fairly easy to install and use. Holding up well so far (just a couple months).

When you buy a product online, especially an expensive one, often you don't know as much about the item as you would like. There are so many questions. How well does it work? How durable is it? Is it difficult to install? How will it really look in my home? In short, there is always that element of risk when you push that "order now" button. When evaluating a product hat really makes a difference to me is what happens when there is a problem? Exactly how well does the company handle the problem. So, as far as I can tell the item I ordered from Liferun—three sets of outdoor patio shades that cost almost $2000—is fully comparable to that of other producers. It arrived quickly, was extremely well packaged for shipping, there were no missing parts, materials and workmanship were 100% acceptable and the product looked good. But, I had a problem with installation, the color of an accessory and the model of the remote provided. What has impressed me with this company is their responsiveness. Each time I have contacted them I received a response within 24 hours. And they were responses from people who did a darn good job of making we think they really cared about my problem and they were also empowered to do something about it. Each time the problem was resolved with one exchange. I always say the true measure of a company is revealed when there is a problem. In that case this company has earned its five stars.

My LIFERUN side awning is now installed and it looks and works great. It passed the waterproof test on our rain fall. I plan to buy 3 more, as the budget allows. Installation was not easy, since I had to make modifications; not to the product (not installed on your usual patio), I very satisfied with the finished work. Weight was a little heavy. One person and place installed had a lot to do with it. For my income as a retired senior, the price wasn't too bad.

The shade is nice but the seller(s) are ridiculous in their return policies. I doubt I would purchase anything from them again. Charging over half the cost of the shade for return shipping.
