After using this charger for a while, I can confidently say it has been one of the best additions to my garage. If you've only ever run lower-amperage setups, even on Level 2 chargers, going up to 40amps is a huge jump that's going to save you a ton of charging time. The bright LED control box gives you a comprehensive look at your charging duration, voltage, and exact kilowatts pushed, and the five adjustable current levels (ranging from 8A up to 40A) are a lifesaver when you need to safely match older electrical panels. It has a nearly 25-foot heavy-duty cable that eliminates the need for tricky parking, pops into any standard J1772 port with a reassuringly firm click, and even includes a NEMA 5-15 adapter for slow, emergency Level 1 charging from a standard household wall socket. Because the copper cord is so heavily insulated and robustly built, the entire kit weighs in at a hefty eight pounds and takes up more space in your trunk or frunk than standard travel chargers. You will also want to make sure you dial in your desired amperage on the control box before plugging it into your vehicle, as changing settings mid-session can throw an error that stalls your charge until morning. The control box doesn't look too weather-resistant so you might want to wrap it up if you put it outside. This level 2 EVSE from Betumoda is a nice option for a J1772 40amp/240v charging unit. I recently moved from a PHEV to a CPO ZDX and Acura did not include an EVSE with the car. While Betumoda includes a NEMA14-50 Plug to NEMA 5-15 adapter and a carrying case I feel that this is better suited for permeant wall mounting over using it as a portable unit The built-in display is nice and gives a lot of pertinent information and allows you to set amperage and start times. Personally, I use the in-car departure timer to set an end time for charging along with the cabin temperature. That way I am not using the HV Battery to get the temperature where I want it. I forget who supplies the OEM EVSE for the ZDX but from what I have read on various forums people are not very happy with that EVSE. So, I saw this and ordered it without any regrets after using it a while. Too be honest, I am a function over form guy so even if it ugly I would not care since it performs well. Cost wise, this is a great value for a full Level 2 EVSE.

This is my second betumoda EV charger and I like them both. I keep this one in my car for travel and my other is my at home charger. The charger that came with my car kept overheating and shutting off so I had to replace it. The Betumoda charger was well priced and adjustable so I tried it out. I am glad I did, and I am glad I got a second. I have been using their chargers for about 6 months now and had no issues with it. No issues with overheating or anything. The LED screen shows how much I've charged, at what speed, and for how long. I charge about 3kwh per hour at home, which is a nice sweet spot for me. I can leave it plugged in overnight and not worry. The charger is well built and feels solid. cord length is just under 25 feet, which must be a customs thing. It is plenty long for me. It is a thick cord as well so no worries of it fraying or becoming damaged.
