I bought a very used 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime, semi-skepitically after my Toyota Highlander gave its life for me in a high speed freeway crash, and I figured I ought to try to be more environmentally conscious. Because I am a very thrifty person, I used the OEM 110volt household current charger for a while. Not very thrilled with it taking 12 hours to recharge so I could have 42 EV miles the next day…”MEH..” says me. From reviews I really couldn’t tell if the EVDANCE NEMA 14-30 charger would measurably improve my charge times or not. As an ICU RN I work 12 hour shifts and between commute and feeding all my canine and livestock family and self plus shower, food prep, etc, I’m lucky to have 8 hours at home when a vehicle could be charging. Enter the EVDANCE 24amp charger. My older home has NEMA 14-30 outlets in house, garage and shop. I wasn’t sure it would be worth it to spend $200-300 for a charger if it didn’t get me charged up in 6 hours or less. I know that 40 amp chargers get the Prime fully charged in about 4 hours, but what can a 24 amp charger do? I sure am not ready to fork out $3k for electrician and new NEMA 14-50 outlets/circuit breaker/box…I mentioned I’m cheap, right? Well, the GREAT news is that the EVDANCE charges up my RAV4 Prime from depletion (20% per Toyota algorithm) to full charge in 5 HOURS !! Yay for me! That beats the heck out of as 12 hours using standard 110v household outlet. I hope this review helps someone make the decision to buy this charger. An unexpected bonus is an adapter that lets you use this baby as a 110v charger if you find yourself without a NEMA 14-30 dryer outlet. Only used once so far so I cannot attest to durability. I live in the severe testing grounds of the Pacific NorthWETS, so I will update as needed. Happy as a clam so far!!

Good quality

Purchased this only about a month ago. Selected this model specifically for the 14-30 plug which matched the new charging circuit I have recently installed. I wanted a 30 amp level 2 circuit since I already had spare wire I could use. This charger has an adjustable amperage range and matches the 14-30 plug I needed. I installed a new circuit using a 10-3 romex wire I had leftover from another project. Purchased a Bryant 14-30p receptacle and a GFCI 30 amp breaker. My set-up works well. I can safely charge at up to 24 amps (80% of the 30 amp rating of my circuit). That is plenty of charging capacity and probably much better for the car battery since it is slower than the more common 50 amp circuits. The charger works as it should. It has a heavy duty cable, and came with a case and all mounting hardware. Catch this on sale and it is very good option if you have a 30 amp circuit with a 14-30p plug.

I have a 240/30 plug in my garage that I use for brewing. This simply plugs right in, connects to the car (Ioniq 5) and charges without issue. I did not need some fancy charging station so this was perfect for me at the right price point.

A Great Charger!

Works perfectly at just the right power draw, so I don't have to worry about flipping my dryer breaker. Charges my Pacifica Hybrid in under 2 hours from <1%. Nice thick cables seem very sturdy. Plugs in super easily and has a good length of cord.

This is a very nice charger. I have a plug in hybrid that can go 30 miles on a charge. I can use my car in the morning, charge at lunch time foe a total of 60 miles a day. Using a 30 amp circuit and NEMA 14-30 outlet give me a lot of flexibility. The unit comes with a cord hanger and a long and heavy duty wire. Very good quality construction. There is no need for wifi if your car has an application to monitor status of the charge. As always have a qualified electrician install a new 30 amp circuit. The outlet should be at least 48" off the garage floor.

This works great charging my Mustang Mach-E. I plugged it into a splitter connected to my 30A dryer outlet (so that I could keep both the dryer and the charger unit connected without unplugging), and it adds 20+ miles per hour of charging.
