    • My New Go-To Winter Coat!
I don't normally leave reviews, but hopefully this will answer similar questions I had when I ordered. First the color--fabulous! The picture on the screen looked more like a "safety green"/chartreuse. But it is a gorgeous rich kiwi green, not garish. I'm 5'4", 165 with broad shoulders and extra "padding" in the middle. I normally wear XL tops because of my shoulders. The coat is nice and hefty, falls at mid-thigh and the sleeves (seam) sits slightly below the shoulder. I tried it with a bulky sweater, and it fastened easily and comfortably, with room in the sleeves so that they weren't tight or uncomfortable (my only wish is that there was a snap closer to the side seam so that the waist isn't cinched. But, that is a VERY minor observation.) The removable fur trim is perfect, as is the removable hood. Some reviews complained that the hood was too large. It is oversized, but I find this a plus if you want total coverage to battle frigid, windy/rainy/snowy weather. The drawstring (on the hood) mitigates this issue easily. The dual zipper seems sturdy and operated smoothly. I was pleasantly surprised by the sewn-down flap at the top of the zipper, which protects it from exposure. The pockets are roomy, and the internal pocket is great. This size was a perfect choice for me in that it is a well made, warm coat which still looks stylish. The cuffs in the sleeve ensure protection from the wind. If you don't like cuffs extending below the sleeve, simply tuck them under. I recommend ordering in your normal size, unless you want something that looks more "parka-ish" and bulky. ... show more

I waited a couple of weeks to wear this and give it my honest review this is one of the nicest jackets I have ever owned. The Color Purple is gorgeous. The lining is warm it's waterproof the sizing is true. It's down but it's not bulky it comes down to my thighs so it's not too long but gives just enough warmth to be out in the freezing cold weather in New Hampshire.     • Perfect! Heavy and warm.
I got the purple (eggplant) in a 3X because I wear xl-2xl normally, but I have broad shoulders and really big arms from having lymphoedema and lipoedema. To start, it was very fitted on my arms. I'm not sure I can wear a hoodie with it, but it's so warm I was sweating by the time i took it off after a few minutes so I think it's A warm enough coat for California to not need an extra sweater. It's down past my hips, zips fine. Zipper seems strongn and thick, and it's the kind where it has 2 so you can zip the bottom open for more mobility. The inside is lined with a very dark gray/light black fur that is almost fleece. The inside of the zip-on hood has the same, and the fur on the hood is black, thick and luxurious. The sleeves have black cuffs at the wrist like on a sweatshirt under the purple sleeve itself so no cold can enter that way. The hood strings are black with a gold metal tip. Which matches the buttons. The back has a strip of elastic that gathers, and this a band on each side that you can button 2 different places to make the waist tighter, or leave open altogether for the largest waist circumfrence. The pockets fit your hands at a perfect angle and are deep. Love the color too! It's a dark purple. I was worried because you never know what time or shade you're going to actually get. But it's definitely a dark grape or eggplant. Can't wait to wear it out!!! ... show more

    • Not a down coat
I wouldn't order a coat in tan if it hadn't been only $50 because I so often walk where I need to be seen for safety so any color not seen in nature is best for me. Having said that, this is an attractive coat which seems as if it will be warm. I will try that part Saturday when our temps will hover around 0 (F). I usually wear a heavy sweater underneath, and it felt a little snug because of that. I bought a medium, ad I am 5'2" and weigh 118. Depending on how many layers you want, you might want to size up. There is a nice interior pocket big enough for a phone. I did wonder. It said in the Amazon ad that it is a down coat. IT IS NOT. I had wondered how it could be down at that price. Be warned. It is a very nice coat and should be sold properly advertised. That is the only reason I took a star off. ... show more

I love this winter coat. It fits comfortably, very warm, and I like the material. It feels like it weighs about 6- 8 pounds carrying it. But itā€™s comfortable wearing it. The zipper opens both ways some top or bottom and looks heavy duty. I hate coats or jackets that have Velcro on the sleeveā€” it irritates me to no end. So I was so glad when I found this coat that does NOT have Velcro on the sleeve, but a stretchy sewed on extension of the sleeve. The front pockets have button fold-over flaps to keep stuff from falling out, and inside of the pocket is nice and big. I could fit a small Tumbler, a handbag and another wallet-size case in just one pocket. Honestly, with those 2 giant pockets I donā€™t even need to carry a purse. I can just put everything but the kitchen sink in those pockets. Thereā€™s also a smaller pocket on the left interior that can fit a wallet.The hood is removable from the coat and the collar is high enough that I donā€™t need to wear a scarf. The only thing is that if I button the top button, it presses hard up against my lip, which is uncomfortable. But I donā€™t need the top button since I have zipped all the way up anyway and as comfortable that way. I do notice the buttons do secure well and pop back open easily. For this type of coat they should have used heavy duty snap on buttons. I like that it is long (below my behind) but not too long (Sherlock Holmes) and I can wear it in the rain because the faux fur on the hood is removable and the coat is pretty much waterproof (I tested it and water just beads on top of it). šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼ Apart from the top button that is uncomfortable, my only other complaint had more to do with warehouse packaging for delivery. The first coat they sent arrived on time but it looked like it was not packaged well and the coat had a tear on the front so I believed they had sent me a coat someone else had returned, which I did not pay for a used coat. So I returned it noting this and requested an exchange. As soon as I dropped it off at Kohlā€™s my second coat was shipped. I received it two days later packaged well and in excellent condition. So although there was a snafu they fixed the situation promptly without any issue. ... show more

I had some very specific needs when searching for a winter coat and this one filled all of those needs. * long length to help keep me warm * nice long sleeves * 100% lined and insulated * detachable hood (sometimes I prefer to wear a hat) * Large pockets on the outside and nice big interior pocket for my wallet, phone or whatever I'm carrying * lots of beautiful colors to choose from (I got purple) * roomy enough to layer clothing underneath (I usually wear an XL, but went up to a XXL so I had room for layers. * you can store it in a vacuum bag when not in use or for travel where you don't need the coat until you arrive The material quality is very nice, good details such as an adjustable belt styling, stretch cuffs to keep your arms warm and soft fuzzy lining inside the coat and hood and fur trim around the hood. ... show more

Great coat. I am 5ā€™8ā€ tall, 140 pounds. Warm. Very attractive, dark blue. Love the zipper PLUS all the snaps. Size MEDIUM is perfect fit for me without a sweater. Slightly snug at waist with a sweater BUT that is easily addressed with the back waist tabs on each side. There are 2 snaps to adjust waist as needed. I only needed one snap. Sleeves might be a bit too long IF there were no stretch cuffs at the wrist, Lovely hood with soft fur edge and I can pull it over a hat. Neck snaps.
