These scissors are great. I was fixing a dish that needed some sliced green onions and I always chop some of the green tops with them but this time I thought I'd just try the scissors on them. Perfect! In a couple of minutes I had all I needed. Same thing with Italian Parsley. After I stripped the leaves off instead of slicing with a knife I sort of balled some up and put it between the blades and Voila! I had nice little strips of parsley for my dish. They are so sharp that they just slice through without bruising. Also, the blade cover clears all the little pieces left between the blades besides protecting the scissors. How efficient. A simple rinse off and you're done. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and sometimes a lot of cutting and chopping makes my hands and especially my fingers cramp so much that I can't finish food preparation. This may be the best tool I've ever bought because I like to cook and this with a couple of other tools sure makes prep fast and easy. I highly recommend this product. Also, I'd like to mention that as soon as the scissors arrived the company contacted me about their product, letting me know that if I had any trouble receiving it or if there would ever be any problems with it to contact them immediately. This is a small company that takes pride in their products, so much so, that they want their customers happy. I've never had any company large or small follow up instantly like this. I'm very impressed.

These days, scissors' blades are (in my experience) always sharp when they're new. The real test of a good pair of scissors is the distance between the two blades. The larger the gap between the blades, the more likely the target item (paper, plastic, herb leaves) will bend into the gap before being cut, making for a ragged cut or even no cut at all. The ideal pair of scissors will slow no light between its closed blades if you hold it up to a bright light source, such as a window on a sunny day, and attempt to see the light between the blades. I own three pairs of scissors, each of which is more than ten years old, that pass the light test. For some reason, recently-made scissors seem to have blades that are very slightly curved, so that their tips touch but there's a gap closer to the joint. Of the Jenaluca's five sets of blades, three are pretty good (a bit of light shows) and two aren't quite as good. They do cut well. So far I've used them on parsley, celery (julienne strips), and green onion tops. The cleaning comb is an essential part of the set; it removes virtually every left-behind bit of food from the blades. Since I lack a dishwasher I hand-wash my scissors. In short, I recommend them.

I was super excited to order these. Unfortunately now they are just one of those cool looking kitchen back gadgets that are sitting in my junk drawer. They come with a cover and a clever cleaning tool to get between the blades. For me it was more hassle to clean in between the blades and didn’t cut as well if I just used my knife to chop. I constantly have to clean between the blades when trying to chop. It really slowed me down rather than to help me cook and prep more efficiently. While it’s a neat product and I thought a must have, you would do better to just use your knife and cutting board.
