  • Gets the job done
Having a portable backup electric vehicle charger that handles both level one and level two speeds is incredibly practical, especially since it costs only a fraction of the price of an original equipment manufacturer setup. The package arrives neatly loaded with a nice zippered storage case, a wall mount bracket, and standard plug adapters that make it super flexible for plugging into different outlets when you are traveling or camping. The twenty-five-foot cable is thick and heavy-duty, providing plenty of length to comfortably reach the vehicle even when backing into a driveway from outside the garage. The bright internal screen that displays real-time battery statistics like active amperage, voltage, and elapsed charging time completely eliminates any guesswork without requiring you to check the smartphone app or vehicle dashboard. The charging performance stays perfectly consistent and stable without drawing excessive heat or tripping the household breaker. The plastic housing feels a little bit bulky and lightweight compared to premium factory units, and since it features a fourteen-gauge main power wire, it is a smart move to limit the current draw to twelve amps on standard household outlets to keep the temperature completely cool. There is no integrated holder built into the chassis to stow the main plug handle when it is not in use, but the versatility of the adjustable current settings makes this affordable unit an excellent emergency accessory to keep tucked away in the trunk. ... show more

  • Decent budget EV charger Decent budget EV charger
Overall, decent charger, but you get what you pay for... First off, it does come with a nice bag for storing the charger. The instructions were simple enough telling you how to set charging current and setting a delay for when the charge should start. It doesn't have any type of actual clock built in, so no setting specific charge hours here. The display is simple, but useful, telling you all the stats of the current charge in progress which is nice. Being a J1772 plug, I had to use a NACS adaptor to charge my Tesla. Now for some important stuff. The charger does display a temperature, but no indication of what that temperature is. The main power cable on the lvl 1&2 16A charger was a 14awg cable, which is a bit small for running a maximum of 16A, so I would probably keep this limited to 12A. I did charge for a good hour at 16A and the main power cable didn't seem too warm, but the thick cable for going to the car with the J1772 plug did get a bit warm when it was all coiled up. There was no indication what gauge the cable was from the charger to the car. I think this would be plenty fine at 12A though, and if you get that hooked up to a 240V circuit, that's still almost 3kw for charge power. Size wise, it is a bit bulky, especially compared to a Tesla mobile charger that can charge at 32A, and doesn't feel nearly as well built as my Tesla mobile charger, but for one third the cost, that's why I started with saying you get what you pay for. So for the price, I think this is probably a decent option for someone looking for a cheap backup charger for when you're away from home. I'll actually be using this for when I go camping and I think it should work great for that. ... show more

  • Stable charging speed, does not overheat, needs an adapter for Tesla vehicles
I am using this as a backup tesla charger, package comes with a nice carrying case, wall bracket for install, a 5-15 plug adapter and screws for the wall plate install. the 25 feet cable lets me charge my car even when it is outside my garage when i back into the driveway, the cord feels well made and i used the adapter that came with my tesla mobile charger kit to use this one on a juniper y without issues The charger supports both level 1 and level 2 charging, i don't see much of a difference in speed when comparing to my original Tesla mobile charger, when using level 1 it stays at 12amps, the charger feels lighter than my Tesla charger but overall feels well made, the cord on the other hand feels heavier than the Tesla mobile charger The screen is more informative than the stock led on my other charger, its leaves no guess work without having to check on the app or in the vehicle screen I left it to charge my car from 50% to 80% last night, the charger body feels just slightly warm, it didn't trip my breaker during the process, stable charging speed, does not overheat which is a plus, at a fraction of the Tesla mobile charger price, it give you basically the same functionality plus a screen showing the charging battery statistics, will update after trying it out for longer period of time if I notice any issues, but so far this thing does everything it said it was supposed to do the only down side i can think of, it doesn't have a way to store the charger plug into the body but being that it is designed to be portable it probably by design that it doesn't have a charger holder ... show more

  • Versatile, Reliable, and Perfect for Charging Anywhere
This charger is one of the most practical EV accessories I’ve picked up. The ability to switch between Level 1 and Level 2 charging makes it incredibly flexible, especially if you’re not always in the same location or don’t have a dedicated setup everywhere you go. The adjustable current from 8 to 16 amps is a great feature. It gives you control depending on the outlet you’re using and helps avoid overloading circuits. That kind of flexibility is something you don’t always get with portable chargers, and it makes a big difference in real world use. Having both 110V and 240V compatibility adds even more convenience. Whether you’re plugging into a standard household outlet or a higher voltage option, it adapts easily. The included NEMA 5 15 and 6 20 plugs cover common setups, so you’re not stuck needing extra adapters right away. The 25 foot cable is a strong point. It provides enough length to comfortably reach your vehicle without having to park in a very specific spot. The cable itself feels durable and well made, not flimsy or prone to wear. The timer function is another nice touch. Being able to delay charging can be useful for taking advantage of lower electricity rates or managing when your vehicle starts charging. It’s simple but adds real value. Build quality overall is solid. It feels dependable and holds up well to regular use. It’s also compact enough to store in your trunk, making it ideal for travel or as a backup charger. Performance has been consistent. It charges reliably without overheating or cutting out, which is exactly what you want from something you may depend on in different environments. The only thing to note is that Tesla owners will need an adapter, but that’s expected with J1772 chargers and not a drawback of this unit itself. Overall, this is a highly versatile and dependable charger that works well in a wide range of situations. If you want a portable option that covers both everyday use and travel without sacrificing performance, this is an excellent choice. ... show more

  • Great Charging And Simple To Use
I grabbed this EV charger to become my spare now that the testing and review has completed. Everything about this charger has impressed me, from build quality, simplicity, charging speed, included carrying case and the overall performance. All of this for only 99.99 at the time of the review. The build quality feels durable and weather resistant, and the charging cable is thick, sturdy, and long enough to comfortably reach my vehicle. The LED touch screen is bright, responsive, and very easy to navigate, making it simple to monitor charging status, voltage, current, and charging time at a glance. This charger offers the flexibility to use both Level 1 and Level 2 charging depending on where I am, which makes this charger perfect for home use as well as traveling thanks to the storage case and its compact size. Setup is easy and the safety features provide peace of mind while I'm charging overnight. Overall, this charger delivers excellent value, dependable performance, and user-friendly features. I recommend this charger for you EV needs and I feel that 99.99 (at the time of the review) this offers great vale for everything this charger has and provides nice bang for your buck. ... show more

  • No complaints as a level 1 charger No complaints as a level 1 charger
Charges my RAV4 Prime without issues, the OSD is pretty similar to other 3rd party chargers out there in terms of switching charging current, you can go between 8/10/13/16A, not all of which will work if you're just using your typical wall outlet (which will max out at I think the 13A). The "timer" feature is just a delayed-charging feature that delays charging after a certain set number of hours after you plug your car in, considering all EVs and PHEVs nowadays have charging schedule features built-in to the car, I'd say just use that. I have similar 3rd party chargers where the "box" part of the charger is more compact than this one though, and the plastic quality definitely isn't as good as the ones from my Toyota and Mitsubishi OEM chargers, but this thing does the job pretty well. The charging-handle side of things are good as well, it doesn't have the little "collar" that's over the latch that you see in some OEM chargers, so compatibility with adapters (I tried plugging this to my J1772 to NACS adapter) wasn't an issue. You do get a pretty decent-quality carrying case as well as a wall mount for the charger, but the wall mount may not be super practical since the cord from the charger box to the outlet is actually pretty short, but hey, at least you get the feature. It's not bad in terms of value for a brand-new charger (and also a carrying case) for $100 at the time of this review, however at this price point you can probably buy used car-maker-branded EV chargers for similar or even less prices, but not all OEM chargers provide you with charging current adjustments so I don't really have any complaints. ... show more

  • Reliable, Easy to Use Reliable, Easy to Use
I’m really impressed with this EV charger (does need an adapter for my Tesla). It feels solid, well‑built, and way more premium than I expected at this price. The 25‑foot cable is a huge plus; I can park however I want and still reach the car without any hassle. The charger works with both 110V and 240V outlets, and the included NEMA 5‑15 and 6‑20 adapters make it super flexible whether I’m at home, traveling, or charging somewhere unexpected. The LED touch screen is honestly one of my favorite parts. It shows everything clearly: amps, voltage, and charging time. So I don’t have to guess what’s going on or check the car every few minutes. Being able to adjust the current (8A/10A/13A/16A) is also really useful, especially when I’m using different outlets. Charging has been stable and consistent, no overheating, no tripped breakers, no weird fluctuations. The IP65 waterproof rating gives me peace of mind when it’s raining, and the cable itself feels thick and durable. For the price, this charger delivers way more than expected. It’s reliable, simple to use, and has all the features you actually need. Perfect as a primary charger or a dependable backup. ... show more

  • Perfect Backup Charger with Great Features Perfect Backup Charger with Great Features
I picked this up as a backup for my Tesla setup, and it has honestly impressed me more than I expected. It has quickly become something I keep on hand at all times. One of the biggest things I noticed right away is that it runs cooler than my main charger. That gave me a bit more peace of mind, especially when charging for longer periods. Everything feels solid and well built, not cheap or flimsy. The screen is a huge win for me. I like being able to see exactly what is going on without having to get into the car or check an app. It shows the charging status and amps clearly, which just makes the whole process feel more controlled and straightforward. The cable length is also a big advantage, especially for apartment living. I can plug it in near my door and still comfortably reach my car without needing to park in a very specific way. That flexibility alone makes it worth it. I also like the ability to adjust the amperage depending on where I am plugging in. It makes this charger very versatile whether you are at home or somewhere else. The plug options are convenient and make it easy to use in different situations without extra hassle. Overall, this is a reliable and practical charger that works great as a backup or even a primary option for some people. It is simple to use, has useful features, and gives you flexibility when you need it most. ... show more
