  • Terrific replacement, fast and very adaptable.
Original cable provided on a less then a year old Kia Sportage. Electrician's opinion that a splice at the plug probably corrupted. Dealer would not warranty. their replacement price $415. This works well and faster even at level 1 charging, is considerably less expensive, arrived the next day and notified when charging complete. Also it is very adapatable. ... show more

  • Versatile and robust—but the display gap and steep price hold it back
I’m giving this portable EV charger 4 stars — it brings reliable Level 1 and Level 2 versatility and solid build quality, though the cost and lack of an informative display dampen its appeal. What Works Well Flexible charging options. With both a NEMA 6-20 (Level 2, 240 V, 16 A) plug and a NEMA 5-15 adapter (Level 1, 120 V, 16 A), this charger adapts to different electrical setups—handy whether you’re at home or on the go. Long, durable cable. The 25-foot cord gives plenty of reach to comfortably plug into your vehicle, even in tight parking spots. Safety features. Multiple circuit protections — from overvoltage and overcurrent to ground faults — add real peace of mind during charging sessions. Portable design with a carry bag. Weighing around 6 pounds, it’s compact enough to stow in your trunk without hassle and includes a bag for clean, organized storage. Where It Falls Short Pricey at around $220. Given the market, that puts it on the higher end—especially when similar models offer additional features for comparable prices. No informative display. Other chargers in this price bracket often include screens or smart apps that show charge status, amperage, or error codes. The absence of such feedback here makes monitoring less intuitive. Final Thoughts If you're looking for a solid, adaptable charger with thoughtful safety design and portability, this unit delivers where it counts. But at around $220, the premium price feels less justified without a display or smart interface to match. With that tweak, it would be top-tier—yet even as is, it’s a dependable workhorse worth consideration. ... show more

  • As simple as it gets, but well-made
**Background:** We own two Toyota hybrid plug-in vehicles and really like them. Both came with factory chargers; one was damaged during an electrical storm, while the other, which we plan to keep if we decide to sell the car, still works. I previously tried an aftermarket charger at about the same price, but it failed after a few months. Upon inspection, I found poor assembly inside the cord, which wasn't secured properly, causing one of the cords to separate. I needed to replace it, so I ordered this charger. I haven't yet installed a 240-volt outlet nearby to fully use the charger, so this review focuses only on testing its performance with a 120-volt outlet. **Build Quality:** I’ve handled enough of these to get a good sense of quality versus cheap options, and I’d definitely say this is above average for a budget charger. The plug itself is large and sturdy. The casing with all the electronics appears very well sealed. The cords on both ends look thick, well protected, yet flexible. **Function:** If you don't have access to a 240-volt outlet with a NEMA 6-20, you'll need to use the provided adapter to plug into either a 15-amp or 20-amp 120-volt outlet. Right from the start, it worked well—showing a solid blue light when ready, and flashing green when charging. I had no issues hooking it up to either of our Toyota cars, and it seems to be charging at the fastest level one rate. The only downside is there's no app and no display, so you have to hope you're charging at a decent rate. If your car is smart, it might tell you the current, amps, or voltage issues. If you try to do unusual things like using an extension cord or if your house wiring is inconsistent and you have a weird voltage drop or current issues, you won't be able to diagnose problems with the charger because there's no smart display. But if you want a simple, solid, well-made budget charger, I think this is a great option. So this can work off of either 240 V or 120 V. I only tested. It was 120 V issue with this machine for some would be the lack of display and lack of information. One of our Toyotas doesn't provide much information about charging, only the time to fully charge. From that, you can roughly estimate if the amperage is correct or install a tester to see how much current is being drawn. However, you still don't know exactly how many amps are going into the car. Despite this, I still prefer this charger because our previous one had a smart display, but its build quality was so poor that it constantly indicated it wasn't working properly. Honestly, charging our cars is just a bonus since it's a hybrid, and simpler is better—with fewer things that can break, especially for something that spends 99% of its time outdoors. I think this company chose to invest in quality components related to charging rather than a fancy display. When looking for a budget charger, I realize it's more important to have quality components and to waste money on a fancy display that you really don't look at, particularly if the rest of the product isn't of good quality. ... show more

  • Good value portable EV charger with a huge potential issue
This is a very solid portable EV Charger at a very attractive price. It supports 16A charging, so it's meant to use on a dedicated 20A circuit and not a 15A regular circuit. So far it has been working great, delivers fast and consistent charging speeds. I like it comes with a rubber protection for the connector in case it sits outside. Cable is long, thick yet flexible so it allows for a a long connection. The only downside I see is the plug, I really wish it was a 90 degree plug instead of a regular plug, this means the cable will fold and dance off a wall plug with the weight of the device. This put a lot of stress on the wall connector as well as the cable which is not ideal, yet if you buy an adapter, be sure it supports 20A current to avoid a fire. ... show more

  • Like the portability.
We have loved ones with a remote home and no supercharger stations anywhere near their house, so we got this as a portable option. This is a very basic unit, especially compared to the one I had installed at our own house. The garage outlets at our loved ones house are 20 amps, so we plug in there. This does have a 25’ cable so that allows flexibility. That’s also good because you can’t use an extension cord. Fortunately, we didn’t have any compatibility issues. Charging overnight at their house is relatively inexpensive. They’re on the adjustable off-peak night rates. The cost is about $10 (thanks AI for doing the math). The only real drawback is trying to come up with some creative way of repaying them because they won’t let us pay in cash or gift cards… lol. I’m going to go ahead and give this a good rating. Is it high speed and technologically advanced like other chargers? No. But it’s not priced like that either. It’s very reasonably priced for what you get. ... show more
