    • Cord Stopped Working After Two Months, Protection Plan Useless
It was a great cord until it stopped working after a little more than two months of usage. I had bought the 2 Year Protection Plan on it, but the claim is not accepted because it says it should be under the manufacturer's warranty. Amazon refers me to the manufacturer. I reached out to the manufacturer (which took some sleuthing), and it has been a month with no reply. So 1 star for the cord, 1 star for the customer service of the manufacturer, and 1 star for the Protection Plan as well. ... show more

I have a 2015 Nissan Leaf. I recently installed a 220 line in my garage in addition to my 110 outlet. No problems installing the charger, no problems using it. Speeds up charging time as compared with the 110. I previously had a 2013 Nissan Leaf and bought a 2nd 110 charger at that time to leave permanently in the car trunk (still in use with my 2015). At the time it cost over $800, so you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was with this price. ... show more

I did test it with 240 vac at the 10 amp (green) setting and saw a 2240 watts or 2.2 kW supplied and with the 16 amp (blue) setting it supplied 3600 watts or 3.6 kW. Trying the unit, with a standard 120 vac outlet adapter, set to 10 amps (green) It supplied 1100 watts or 1.1 kW and set to 16 amps or blue it supplied 1700 watts or 1.7 kW. Unless you have a heavy duty 20 amp 120 vac outlet you should stick to the default 10 amp setting as 16 amps will overload a standard 15 amp breaker on 120 volts. Another thing to keep in mind is that if the unit is power cycled (unplugged and plugged in again) or you temporarily lose power the unit defaults to the 10 amp setting, which makes sense safety wise and would need to be set to 16 amps before using if desired. I don't see a way to keep it defaulted to the 16 amp setting. This will be a great evse to use at our in laws to charge up our Leaf, I added a 240 volt 20 amp outlet, a NEMA 6-20 and can now charge there at 3.6 kW instead of the 1.2 kW from the Leaf stock evse. Also the unit I received did have a right angle plug, with the ground down, which I prefered but the picture shows it as a straight plug. To sum up 1 watt idle (waiting) on either 120 vac or 240 vac 120v 10a setting approx 1.1 kW 120v 16a setting approx 1.7 kW 240v 10a setting approx 2.2 kW 240v 16a setting approx 3.6 kW ... show more

    • Stopped working after a couple months of sporadic use.
I only used it a couple of times since I charge at work mostly. Now when I try to plug in it just gives a fault code and never clears no matter what I try. EDIT: Was contacted by the company and they gave me another charger. This one works and they told me to contact them again if I have any problems. ... show more

    • The price was nice, but the one I got was a lemon.
We have three cars with plugs, a Leaf, a C-Max and a Volt. With all three, the LeFan would charge at 16 amps for a while, and then shutdown with Error 6: "Short-Current Protection". I sent it back. The charging cable is a bit less than 1/2" diameter, and a little stiffer than you would like it to be, but it works well. I installed a new 20 amp 240 v outlet in my garage near the roll up door, and ran the cable out the door. I rated the product highly until it was obvious that it wasn't reliable. ... show more

Works alot quicker than cable that came with car. Cable not as thick as the cord that came with my Ioniq ev but seems fine. After getting circuit and plugged installed it just plugs in. I use it on the lower 10 amp setting and it's still over twice as quick as original 110 cord.
