I find this reel nice overall, but the drag comes on very suddenly within 4 clicks. When loose, the first two turns basically doesn't change anything. I would be nice if they were able to give us a more gradual progression of drag. As the star wheel has comfortable shape to push, you do feel the drag tightening up through the star, which is a good thing. But if you like to use light tackle, your line might break because the drag is very strong and sudden. It holds a lot of braided line and has clicker. Although I have casted it, I can also use it for trolling because of the clicker. The price is getting up there and it is debatable to go Shimano or not. Shimano only use 4 bearings, the secrets of bearings is Shimano have precise manufacturing, which makes all parts fit together and spin without friction.. they are nice and very salt water resistant, but I don't know about Piscifun long term. Update: I've been using this for trolling, landed over 10 fish now and it is holding up well. This reel does not unwind left and right like a trolling reel, but the line goes out well it does not matter. With the clicker makes it more useful for trolling. The drag is pretty easy to use. I dropped it in lake water once, so far still works like new. ... show more

It’s a little on the heavy side but it casts quite well. A carbon fiber handle would have been nice. I loaded it with 65lb test braid. Clicker 👌🏻8.1 rips em in. Bearings in the knobs could have been better. Mags work nicely. Level wind nice as well. I’m happy. Even if it only means that I’ll just be practicing in a back tidal rivulets. Small snapper blues. Not even champion Crappie fighting size. Crappie taste better. At that size both are ok. CRAPPIE FIRST. RUMOR HAS IT THAT THEY MOVE OFF THE SHELVES FAST. NOT MY FIRST RODEO EITHER. I HAVE ONE MORE OF THERE CASTING REALS . BFS, no complaints either but I switched out the spool support bearings for some ceramic HP corrosion resistant models. No Complaints YET ! 🦈 ... show more

Awesome reel at a bargain price compared to other 400 size bait casters. Have caught several 30 pound blue catfish in the Mississippi River as well as a 38 inch bull red without any issues Hoping to put a real giant on it soon

Like the size bought it for NE striped bass.. the level wind by not moving while casting or dropping jigs. Or while a fish is taking drag . Maybe problematic.. this spring will tell
