It has a slightly blue sheen undertone on brown hair which is a gorgeous contrast to the red color. It's very lovely in natural light, but it can be hard to see indoors depending on the lighting. I have seen some reviews voice concern about how dark it looks after dyeing but it will lighten up and just show the color after a few washes, so fear not if you don't like that! I have always done by hair at the salon but I’ve moved to a small town and they charge wild prices for the bare minimum . I had naturally medium to dark brown roots grown out about 4 inches and blond highlights and my hair was to my butt. I bought 4 boxes of the downtown brown color to make sure I had enough . I left the dye in for the max 45 mins and I used 3 boxes for my medium thick hair. The color lifted the dark roots and the rest of my hair looked great I love the brown it shimmers and it looks good for my pale skin and doesn’t wash me out.
