A great litter box for our very large cat. We have a 12-lb British Shorthair who doesn’t fit into regular size litter boxes. This is my third litter box by this company. I like to replace them after a couple of years from the wear-and-tear from the kitty claws and clumping litter. Because our cat is so large, he tends to “high pee”, so we need a tall box to keep everything contained and not escape the box. This litter box does that extremely well. I wipe down the inside of the lid and the sides of the box daily to keep it very clean. The box has a clear lid which our cat seems to like. It gives him a feeling of protection but also allows him to see anything around him while he’s using it. And I like it because I can easily see if he’s just used his box and I need to scoop things out. The box is easy to clean. I wash it out in the shower with a hand-held shower head sprayer and a bit of the blue dish soap. I highly recommend this litter box for anyone who has a large cat. ... show more

Generous size. Our 12 lb Cat likes it - I think because hood is clear. I do wish the back was not curved- removing waste is a little trickier since scoop has a straight edge.

We recently took in four kittens and purchased a second litter box to compliment our large, pre-existing one. When it arrived it was too small for our needs and more "cute" in appearance than functional. We went looking for a replacement but had trouble finding a large one with a hood like our previous box and so--sight unseen--we ordered the Petphabet Jumbo Hooded Cat Litter Box, Extra Large to try it out. So far, so good. We'll see what happens as they get older/larger; worse case we can always order one more. ... show more

    • Needs better latches.

I have large cats and this item is a good size for them. The only problem is that the latches to hold the top and bottom together do not work well at all. Since the boxes are cleaned every day it means the latches need to be sturdy enough to hold up with daily use. On one box only 2 latches work properly. On the second one only one latch snaps into place. I’m worried the top may come undone while being used and spook the cats so the won’t use the litter boxes. ... show more

Tue best feature of it is the high back side , so when my boy cat pees on the wall it stays inside instead of getting into the crack between the top and bottom of my old one.
