Description

Enjoy consistently clean floors without adding another chore to your day. This advanced vacuum and mop robot is designed to automatically handle everyday messes, stopping crumbs, dust, pet hair, and spills before they have a chance to build up. Instead of reacting to dirt after it spreads or sticks, it helps keep floors clean day after day with minimal effort from you. Unlike basic 2‑in‑1 cleaners, this robot offers four customizable cleaning modes so you can match the clean to the moment. Use vacuum‑only for quick dry pickup, mop‑only to refresh hard floors, vacuum and mop at the same time for everyday maintenance, or vacuum first then mop for a deeper, more thorough clean—all without switching machines or running multiple passes yourself. 140x more powerful suction and DualClean™ Mop Pads tackle both dust and wet spills, while SmartScrub™ technology applies extra pressure to break down dried food, muddy paw prints, and sticky kitchen splatter you would normally need to scrub by hand. A slim, low‑profile design fits under more furniture, while extending edge brushes pull debris from corners and along baseboards where dirt tends to collect. For homes with pets, tangle‑free rubber brushes capture hair without wrapping or clogging, keeping cleaning performance consistent run after run. Every clean starts fresh thanks to the AutoWash™ Dock, which automatically empties debris for up to 90 days and washes and heat‑dries mop pads at 113°F after each job—helping prevent odors, avoid dirty pad reuse, and reduce day‑to‑day maintenance. Advanced LiDAR mapping and obstacle recognition allow the robot to navigate smoothly around shoes, cords, and toys, so there’s no pre‑cleaning required. It also detects carpets and lifts mop pads 10mm before crossing rugs to keep carpets dry while continuing to deep‑clean hard floors. Use the app or voice control to schedule cleans, choose modes, target high‑traffic areas like kitchens and entryways, or send the robot directly to problem spots—so your home stays clean on your schedule, not your to‑do list. • iRobot Roomba Plus 415X Combo Robot Vacuum & Mop iRobot Roomba Plus 415X Combo Robot Vacuum & Mop
I have dreamed of owning a robot vacuum/mop combo and have owned and trusted iRobot products for many years. I am so excited to have the Roomba Plus 415x Combo Robot Vacuum and Mop. This is designed to not only vacuum, but mop floors with amazing features like an auto wash dock, heated dry, and auto emptying. The vacuum is built right in, and the mop has two rotating heads. There is a tank for clean water and a separate one for grey water. Setup was pretty easier - I’d say it was easier to set up and connect than any other Roomba that I have owned. The only struggles were that it looks like it only uses 2.4 wifi, which I couldn’t find in the paperwork anywhere, and I couldn’t figure out what tank and corresponding icon on top, represented grey clean water. I ended up watching videos to determine the right side is clean, and has an empty water drop picture on top. The grey water that goes on the left has a water drop with diagonal lines across it. I was surprised that the app didn’t walk me through it as that seems logical. Once I got it set up and connected to wi-fi, it was easy to set a schedule. Then, I ran it for the first time. It was fascinating to see how it operates! It does a first pass through vacuuming, followed by mopping. Each spot it passes is mostly dry immediately afterwards, making it hard to see liquid to know where it has already mopped, and that’s a great thing! This Roomba vacuum and mop is amazingly quiet compared to my other Roombas - I love that we don’t have to turn the volume up on music or TV to hear over it. I didn’t track how long it took to cover our 1,200-ish square feet, but it felt surprisingly quick. Once it had run, our floors looked amazing. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 kids so our floors get so much dog hair and there’s so much dust. Everything looked so great!. Because I am going to have it auto run every night at midnight, I won’t be moving chairs and accepting around certain areas of the house. It simply won’t be able to get to them, so I’ll still have to spot vacuum and mop directly under our dining room and counter bar area. That just feels like such a minimal amount of work that I can absolutely get on board with that! My ultimate conclusion on this is that it is really nice in quality, does great with dog hair, mops well enough that so far I have felt no concerns at all, and our floors look incredibly good. THIS IS A LIFE CHANGING ADDITION TO OUR HOME! I think that the price is very reasonable for how good the quality is with this, and this is a great value compared to other brands that I have been looking at. We are so happy with it, and I am so happy to have extra time that I don’t have to spend cleaning floors. Right now, we have our regular mop and vacuum sitting side by side and I am considering running them both for a while, mostly just for robot wars. We named our Roomba Vacuum/Mop Combo Fred. Fred is performing so well and has exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend this one! ... show more

  • Solid performer for vacuuming with useful smart features Solid performer for vacuuming with useful smart features
I've owned several iRobot models and this one vacuums at least as well as the others. I have iRobot proofed my house over the years, with mostly wood and tile floors, where there is carpet it is low and without tassels or things for the robot to get hung on. It picks up everything I would expect. The LiDAR mapping works well for creating maps, and I like being able to set Keep Out zones for areas I want the robot to avoid. Basic cleaning runs with the push of a button on the unit, but the advanced features like scheduling and zone editing require the iRobot app and cloud connectivity. The robot has no camera or microphone, and the only data stored in the cloud are a map of my house, preferences, and usage records. So privacy concerns are minimal, but I would have preferred it if the premium features had worked without requiring an Android or iPhone app. There are no browser-based control options. You must install and use an Android or iPhone app. The mop function is less useful to me personally — it feels like extra maintenance for limited benefit, vacuuming does well enough. I have it mop the bathroom and kitchen, so I use it selectively there, I'm still making up my mind on it. The auto-washing dock reduces work overall and is an improvement. I haven't had any charging issues, it charges when needed and a single charge is enough to vacuum the floor, so the robot has been pretty trouble free. Overall, this is a capable iRobot that adds likeable new features like self emptying, mapping, and zones; and it does a great job on the core feature of vacuuming. ... show more

  • Another Member of the Roomba Family (With Opinions)
We have a whole fleet of robots in our house, and at this point the iRobots feel like part of the family. We’ve been running iRobots for years—multiple j7s, some newer Max models, a 705, Braavas, and soon a 505—and the big reason we keep coming back is that they’re super reliable and weirdly long‑lived. Do we need this many bots? Absolutely not. Is it fun? Absolutely yes. Some of our oldest ones are over six years old and technically ready for retirement, but we just haven’t had the heart to pull them off the network yet. They are family and will not be put to pasture! The 415 Combo itself is a great bot, especially if you’re coming from one of the older non‑mopping Roombas like the j3/4/5/6/7/8/9. Those earlier vacuum‑only bots are nice and short, and one thing I really appreciated about them is how easily they slid under furniture. The newer high‑end Roombas have gotten pretty tall, and that makes a bigger difference in real life than you’d think. When we got the 705, we were honestly bummed to realize it wouldn’t go under two of our chairs and our TV stand—places the j7s and the Max 10 could handle with no problem. The 415 is kind of the opposite surprise: it actually fits under all the furniture that the 705 and Max 10 can’t reach. That instantly makes it way more useful in our particular house layout, and it’s a nice‑looking bot on top of that. Compared to the 505, the 415 feels like the “same family, less brainy” version. The 505 has proper object avoidance with real AI‑style smarts, so it does a much better job of seeing and dodging things. The 415 has some minimal avoidance, but it is not in the same league—more like “basic obstacle handling” instead of truly intelligent avoidance like the 505 and many of iRobot’s earlier smart bots. If you’re used to watching a j7 gracefully work around stuff, you’ll notice the difference. The one thing I really don’t love on the 415 is the brush setup. iRobot is famous for those dual rubber rollers, and they’ve been fantastic for both cleaning performance and hair handling. This bot switches to a single brush roller design, and while I think it still cleans well, it’s just not as quiet. My guess is that the vacuum motor has to work harder in this design, and you can hear that. It’s not unbearable, but if you’re used to the sound profile of the dual‑roller models, this one feels louder and a bit less refined in that area. Overall, I’d say: if you can get a 505, that would be my first choice, especially if object avoidance is important to you and you want the “smarter” behavior. But the 415 has a very real advantage if you have low furniture. Measure your critical spots—under the bed, under the sofa, under that TV stand—and see if the 415’s height will clear them. If it doesn’t, then realistically none of the similar‑feature iRobot models are going to fit there either. In our case, the combination of iRobot reliability plus the ability to actually reach under furniture that the newer, taller bots can’t touch makes the 415 a genuinely useful addition to the robot family, even with its quirks. ... show more

  • Sick Days Savior!!! I Woke Up to A Clean House!🏠 ✨ Sick Days Savior!!! I Woke Up to A Clean House!🏠 ✨
There are two kinds of sick days: the kind where you want soup… and the kind where you just stare at the ceiling hoping your house magically cleans itself. I had food poisoning for a few days while testing this and honestly, this little robot earned employee-of-the-month status in my house. Waking up to clean floors when you feel absolutely wrecked is such an underrated luxury. It quietly handled everything without me having to think about it, and that alone made this worth it for me. And this is coming from someone who has been loyal to Roomba for YEARS. My very first Roomba is somehow STILL alive and running around my house like a tiny determined tank. I’ve only replaced the battery once and the thing refuses to quit. So I already trusted the brand going into this, but this 415X Combo feels like Roomba leveled up big time. The suction on this thing is no joke. I have cats, dogs, and one of those robotic litter boxes that somehow still launches litter pebbles halfway across the room like it’s part of the design. This vacuum grabs the cat hair, dog hair, dust, crumbs, and those annoying little litter granules that always escape the mat no matter what you do. My floors actually feel clean when I walk barefoot now instead of getting surprise crunchy litter stuck to my feet. Fellow pet owners will understand the trauma. The mopping surprised me too. It doesn’t just drag a damp cloth around pretending to help. My floors actually looked polished afterward, especially in the kitchen where life seems to happen the hardest. Between pets, people, and certain family members who apparently believe shoes belong on indoors… this thing has been saving my sanity all week. The dock is another thing I ended up loving more than expected. Self-emptying, self-cleaning, heated drying… it basically takes care of itself better than some humans I know. I’m realizing very quickly that once you get used to not constantly dealing with vacuum maintenance, there’s no going back. Honestly, the only complaint I have is that it doesn’t grow little arms and do my dishes too. The second that model drops, I’ll be first in line throwing money at it. Overall, this has been one of those rare smart-home purchases that actually feels smart. It keeps the house looking consistently clean without me babysitting it, and after a rough sick week, I appreciated that more than I can explain. It navigate smoothly and I would say the setup was not that tricky considering it’s an app. Also, we have a large home..So, I suggest an WiFi extender if you have a large home like me. Excellent value! ... show more

  • With firmware refinements it'd easily be 5 star With firmware refinements it'd easily be 5 star
This robot is supposedly going to be the upgrade to my incredibly reliable Roborock Qrevo S. I've also had random navigation Roombas for years. In some ways, I like it way more, but in others, the Roborock is superior... For reference, this is one of the first releases iRobot has come out with since transferring ownership to the Chinese company Picea, which has been building the first generation of LIDAR Roombas (105, 205, 405, 505, 705 Max. that whole lineup). This release is the first iRobot has done since its full transfer of ownership to Picea. That being said, it is VERY different. The next gen of Roombas has ditched the top-mounted LIDAR and has moved to internal LIDAR, therefore reducing the overall height of the robot. I believe they're also making a 115X, 515X, 615X, 815X, and some others... PROS: -The actual mopping performance is amazing. Having a swing-out mop pad is something my Qrevo S never had, and I feel at ease knowing it can clean the spots my other vacuum couldn't. I initially thought the robot lacking an internal water tank would be a big downside (Qrevo S has an internal water tank), but the robot goes back to its dock to rinse itself often, and it hasn't really been an issue. The lifting pads on the carpet are also a must-have feature for a robot with a wash dock and it worked flawlessly. -The Navigation is great. For not having a 360 top Lidar, it is surprisingly efficient. It always seems to have great spatial awareness and knows where it is, and knows where to pick back off where it left off when it goes back to the dock to empty or wash the mop. -Battery life is AMAZING. It always finishes its run with more than half of its battery remaining when cleaning our entire downstairs floor plan, which is a mix of hard floors and carpets. -The AutoWash Dock. It works so well. Never fails and keeps the robot's bin in check and mop pads fresh. Though this is something the Qrevo S did good aswell. -The size. This thing is TINY. I uploaded an image of the robot next to a Roomba 650 and my Qrevo S to give you an idea of how small the thing is. Omitting the top LIDAR also allows it to fit under more furniture. CONS: -My biggest gripe is pathing along edges. It simply isn't efficient. It's a headache to watch. The robot does extend the mop, and the mop does get close to the edge, but the robot consistently tries to turn into the wall rather than glide alongside it. My Qrevo S never had this problem, and even roborocks with extending mop pads (like the S5V or Curv) don't consistently try to turn into walls. It's almost like it doesn't know there's a wall there in the first place. This behavior causes the mop not to be right up to the edge of the wall during the entire duration of the test, therefore getting incomplete coverage. Also, when it does this, it causes the robot to turn and push its extended mop into the wall numerous times, sometimes causing clicking noises... -It's rather aggressive on furniture. My Qrevo S rarely ever touches furniture, therefore keeping itself and my house in great shape. However, after just one single run, there were already scratches and marks all over the bumper and all over the underside of the Roomba. It is generally less careful than the Qrevo S, and again, this is something that firmware could easily resolve. -The actual vacuum performance isn't any better than my previous vacs. I actually think the older random navigation 600 series Roombas do a much better job on carpet than both of my mopping bots, as it has two brushes instead of just one - a bristle brush and a beater brush. The Roomba uses only a bristle brush, which seems to perform alright on hard floors, but it will not clean carpets as well. I suppose this is the trade-off of having a bot that mops and vacuums, as the 600 series obviously never shipped with any kind of mopping attachments. I also question the effectiveness of the extending sidebrush. I never actually see it extend in corners; it just kinda hangs out for the duration of the cleaning run. This could very well be intentional, and I have no proof that this is actually hindering its performance, so I'll give it a pass here... -The bin size. The bin is TINY, especially compared to the Qrevo S or any 600 series Roomba. Houses with large messes will def notice the small bin size, and on my first run, the robot had a hard time self-emptying everything into the base. After a few runs, though, this problem was minimized. -Certain aspects of the app aren't my favorite. There is a spot in my house that has a diagonal, and there are many cords in this area. I would like to place a keep-out zone here, but the iRobot app doesn't allow you to rotate a no-go zone; it has to be parallel to the map itself. I've had to resort to placing a physical barrier where these cords are so that I can let the robot cover that area still. With my Roborock Qrevo S, I placed an invisible wall in this area to solve this issue in a much easier manner. The Roborock also gives you 30 different water settings compared to only 3 on the Roomba; this is the advantage of having a built-in water tank that is electronically controlled. I am still deciding if I'm going to have this replace my Qrevo S full-time. The Qrevo S seems to be a more well-rounded machine despite not having an extending mop pad or side brush. I don't know if the addition of the edge mop is worth potentially damaging my baseboards or my robot. I also question the long-term durability of this robot. My 600 series robots have lasted for years, I even still have a couple of 500 series Roombas from 2007-2008 still kickin, that only needed minor repairs over the years. Qrevo S has also never had issues despite running for a long period of time. I question if this one will last if it damages itself with its clumsy edge cleaning behavior. Perhaps I'll have them alternate until I decide long-term who's the better machine, haha. If you're looking into purchasing the Roomba 415X, I would wait for a deal. In several months (writing this in May), perhaps they will have improved on the firmware, and it would be a much better value, but as of now, it's just so new that I don't think I would take the risk if I knew it would come with all these issues. I will update this review if any improvements come along or if any dealbreakers arise. ... show more

  • A Great Vacuum and Mop, Very Quick
This is a pretty great vacuum and mop! It is a simplified version of robo vacuums somewhat, but that has actually been really great to experience and hasn't bothered me as much as I thought it would. I went from using an amazing Roborok vacuum that detected pet waste, and unfortunately this Roomba doesnt have that technology- but it does have an automated vacuum bin and mop emptying and refilling station which is by far much more helpful and leaves less dirt than the manually emptying robo vacuum I previously used did. This Roomba is very quick, I was surprised it could map and move so fast, but it was quite fun to watch it zip around and accurately map the house! There is one partial pro and con regarding the vacuum emptying area that should be noted as well; The vacuum empties into a bag, so those will need bought repeatedly, but it does keep the disposal area very clean which requires far less cleaning and maintenance than my previous vacuums non-bagged bin. The vacuum was really quiet compared to my other vacuum, but you will know when things are being emptied lol it is a bit loud. The battery life makes up for that noise in a way, it was able to quickly charge at the dock and it cleans my entire upstairs by vacuuming, then mopping, and uses around 30%-40% battery while doing a very nice job. All in all, the pros of this vacuum far outweigh the cons, I am pretty happy with this pet vacuum and would highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Not Good
I really wanted to love this vacuum, but for the price, it just isn’t worth it. The whole point of a robot vacuum is to be able to set it down, let it run, and come back to a clean floor. Instead, this thing needs babysitting constantly. It frequently loses attachments while vacuuming and then stops because it ‘needs help’. If I have to keep checking on it and fixing it, it defeats the entire purpose of owning a robot vacuum in the first place. It also struggles badly with mixed flooring. Every time it transitions between carpet and hardwood, it ends up dumping debris back onto the floor instead of keeping it contained. Even on hardwood alone, it doesn’t clean very effectively—it often just pushes and swishes dirt and debris around rather than actually picking it up. For the cost, I expected a much more hands-off experience and better performance across different floor types. Unfortunately, this ended up being more work than convenience. If you want something you can truly “set and forget,” this wasn’t it for ... show more

  • Very impressive vacuum/mop robot!
This is really an innovative product. We own another one of these robots from the same company and it randomly bumps around just sweeping things up without any suction. This is a real smart vacuum and has lots of sensors and scans it’s surroundings and makes a map of your house. You can tell it to vacuum only or vacuum and mop each individual area or everything together. We actually use it a lot and it does a very good job even with dog hair. Very, very impressed! The iRobot Roomba Combo j5+ (415X) is a standout solution for those looking to automate both vacuuming and mopping without sacrificing floor care quality. It successfully balances intelligence, convenience, and performance, making it a highly effective tool for maintaining a busy home. Key Performance Highlights Versatile Combo Functionality: The ability to switch between vacuum-only and vacuum-and-mop modes by simply choosing it on the app is very intuitive. It ensures you get powerful suction when you need it and deep, wet cleaning when you want it, without the risk of the robot getting your carpets wet during a mopping cycle. Precision Navigation: Equipped with PrecisionVision Navigation, this unit is exceptionally good at identifying and avoiding common household obstacles—including unexpected items like cords, pet toys, or stray socks. This significantly reduces the need to "prep" floors before starting a cleaning cycle. Efficient Cleanup: The included Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal is a game-changer. It holds up to 60 days of debris, effectively removing the daily chore of emptying the dustbin and keeping dust clouds contained. Customized Cleaning: Integration with the iRobot Home App is seamless. You can designate "Keep Out Zones" for areas you want the robot to avoid and use Smart Mapping to send the Roomba to clean specific rooms on command. It learns the layout of your home quickly and adapts to changes efficiently. Why It’s a Great Choice Time-Saving: The combination of self-emptying capability and obstacle avoidance means you can truly "set it and forget it." Consistent Results: The suction power is robust enough for hardwood, tile, and carpet, while the mop attachment provides a great maintenance clean for high-traffic hard floor areas. Reliability: The build quality is quintessentially iRobot—sturdy, intuitive, and designed to last through years of daily use. Final Verdict The Roomba Combo j5+ (415X) sits in the "sweet spot" of the robot vacuum market. It skips the overly complex (and expensive) features that often break or require excessive maintenance, focusing instead on the core tasks—mapping, avoiding obstacles, and cleaning thoroughly. It is an excellent investment for anyone wanting to reclaim their time and keep their floors consistently clean with minimal effort. ... show more
