I have an area rug in the dining room and carpet in three bedrooms so it recharges three times before it finishes cleaning the whole house. But, it has no problem cleaning the dining room and kitchen areas without recharging. It moves easily from hard surfaces to carpet and on to the area rug. I was amazed at the map it made of my house. I have been wanting an automatic vacuum for quite some time but was hesitant that it would actually clean good. I still have to learn how to use this and see if I can set boundaries with this model but straight out of the box and not even fully charged for my first use (I would recommend charging it the full 3 hrs. as suggested, I accidentally started it and let it go!) it did great. The photos are from running two days in a row and as you can see the dirt bin is full so it is definitely cleaning. I’m hoping I can program it better because right now it seems to be all over the place and it doesn’t fully get one area before moving on to the next and it misses some trash/dirt since it is sporadic. I will update on that after I’ve learned how to use it! I’m happy with this purchase as of now. If you don’t want to clean the bin every day or two I would recommend getting the self emptying model. I just wanted to try the basic vacuum for now and see if it was worth it. I am a professional cleaner and so I have high expectations and so far this has met my needs. It has some “sweeper legs” that get in corners or edges like under counters and sometimes it does miss stuff but I know it is working as I have to empty the dirt bin frequently. It’s making my life a little easier! We named ours Dusty! It is not too loud but if your on a phone call it’s best to go to another room as it can be a little distracting. I set mine to go off at 12 pm every day and like clock work Dusty comes out and goes to work! The app was super easy to set up and like I said I am still learning and hope to set up specifics if I can with this model. The only issue I have had so far is that it will get stuck on a couple of my rugs. They are thick rugs so one it just stops and the alarm goes off for an error that it could not move. The other rug it says it is near a cliff lol! It isn’t that high of a rug but it is higher than the hard wood floors I have. I just move it and press start. It is a little aggravating but nothing too bad. I’m home all the time so I can move it but if I wasn’t I’m not sure if I could do anything from the app (again, still learning!) Also, make sure cords are picked up and if you have any sticky bug traps I’d move them because the little sweeper legs have gotten stuck to mine and I had to pull it off. Other than those two things I am loving my automatic vacuum and I recommend it his product. If I remember I will update my review after I’ve had it for a while longer! ... show more

Love this device! Saves me lots of time and effort. Easy to install and to program. I have the 105X, no mopping feature, but the vacuum is wonderful. It does a basic map first and then a more thorough map when cleaning. I would suggest that someone be present during the initial cleaning routines, just to get it "unstuck." Mainly because it finds things that you either didn't realize would be in the way, or that you couldn't see. It is very quiet too. It transitions great from carpet to wooden floor easily. We don't have pets, but we have young, messy children and old, messy adults and it cleans up very well after both. We love it! ... show more

Thei first thing you should know is that first star doesn’t light up and I gave it five stars. I gave mu daughter my old vacuum, but it stopped working on the second day; I felt bad, so went to amazon (my go to store) and order this, because it was a good price, and I know nothing about them. My son in law said to my daughter; why did your mom buy that for us tell her to send it back! I told her give it a try, and if is not to your liking, they will take it back. He said to her: I just vacuum the floor, but try it anyway! Well, the vacuum picked up all the cat’s hair from everywhere in their bedroom and the thing was full! He was so amazed, now he turns Robot on and on, he sends pictures to everyone! If you ask me, Robot will call Amazon and tell them “please come to pick me up, this man is crazy!” Ha ... show more

My original Roomba was manufactured 6 04 2001 and yes, it still works. A very early product. It is noisy, a tad rattly and gets hung up all too often. There were years when I didn’t use it, but I’ve been using it pretty often every day for the last six months or so. Because of the afore mentioned two problems I decided to purchase a new one during Prime Days. I got a low end Roomba, it isn’t self cleaning, but it does the job. I love the mapping and that I can see where it goes and where it’s been and how to find it if it gets stuck (very rare and always because of cords), which isn’t as often as the pretty old original Roomba. In fact, it usually extracts itself from its problems and keeps on going. My only problem with it is basically one problem. It is very slow charging seems to me and that charge doesn’t even get me through an entire room, when the power level reaches 28%~38% it heads home. Now that’s nice, but it doesn’t seem to be able to complete an entire room in my house without the need to recharge. Once charged it does finishs the job. Would I buy it again? Yes and as noted that once it is recharged it heads out on its own to finish the job. My old roomba took a very random approach to cleaning, seldom made it home, but still picked up as much dirt and maybe more than the new one which touts 70% more suction. Compared to ? Still I love the new mapping tech and would recommend it. I do hope that somehow, miraculously, over time the battery charge will improve. I purchased this because I had one as a kid and was obsessed lol. Anyways yea I got the cheap model. It works okay. I have thick carpet so I almost always have to tell it to “deep clean” everything, otherwise it will often miss small pieces of dirt chips ect. The navigation does okay once you learn how it works. (You must press start from the power button on the vacuum cleaner and not in the app) for it to update the map if you move furniture items, etc. battery isn’t great. It can almost do my entire basement. And the recharging process is painful and slow. About 3 or 4 hours from dead to charged. And about 45min to 1 hour of run time on carpet. (I have never used the mop feature so I can’t comment) overall the vacuum is lightweight, that’s nice but also its downfall, due to this it doesn’t sit down, flush enough on thick and heavy carpet. It will often bounce or skid over it. (Which is why I often tell it to deep clean so it goes over the same area at least twice) Cleans well on hard floor, carpet is more of a challenge for this model. The app works okay, although the UI could be alot better/ advanced. They are cool and I will keep using it. Is it worth it? Depends. It does clean. It will clean while your away, although for the first several times, I would be at home or near the robot while it learns your house and it’s layout. For a quick clean up it’s it’s worth it. One day I wanna get the more advanced model.. but for almost 1K. I hope they receive more improvements. This model was only $120 for me at the time. ... show more

Upgraded from a much older and heavier, Roomba… The old style used small battery operated laser style boundary devices to keep the robot out of certain rooms… This new one uses a map layout and allows you to block sections or entire rooms from the robot through the app… The old robot was unable to go from hardwood to carpet and quite often got stuck on the rails of metal legged chairs until it just gave up and through an error… this new robot will get to the carpet and if it has any issues will actually back up and I can only describe it as throw itself forward up to the carpet… it does the same to the metal chair legs… If it seems to be stuck for a few seconds, it will back up and rapidly propel itself forward until it is over the legs… It will do the entire first floor of my home which consists of three rooms, one is carpeted, on a single charge. Absolutely a good value and if I needed another, would buy a second. ... show more

The amount of hair this picks up is phenomenal!! I love the dual feature as well. Marked one star off because you have to buy a special soap, so otherwise it’s just using water on the floors but it still does a good job mopping. Super easy to keep the wheels and other parts clean and overall easy to dump out the bin. The navigation feature makes the price worth it, as you can choose a certain spot to spot clean instead of having it teclean the entire house. You can also set it up to clean on certain days, times, and what type of clean you want it to do. I have two cats and having this makes me feel more sane and the air more breathable. It does tend to get stuck frequently on small rugs, and cords so do be weary of that. ... show more
