My gf bought the adhesive dash mount version and loved it so she sent me the link- I saw that I could get a CD slot version and after reading reviews that seemed promising, I decided to give it a try. I was skeptical at first but since it's free returns I figured wth. I am so happy with it- you don't have to deal with cleaning, positioning, sticking, hating it, trying to unstick and restick. With this one you just insert into the CD slot and (very nicely, don't brute force it) push the bracket up to secure the plates inside the slot. I definitely recommend reading the directions, it's really only 3 steps but the way it secures isn't obvious. The part the phone sits in is easy to adjust, it holds the phone tight(I have an iphone SE 3rd gen) and is easy to release/secure. I prefer this over the traditional mounts because the location is just a quick right glance to see your phone(at least where my cd slot is) and my right hand only has to move an inch away from the wheel if I need to tap and I can easily have my left hand still on the wheel. I haven't had any issues with it loosening or with glare so far. I did notice that if you have a somewhat shaky car at certain speeds your phone will shake along with it, but for me this isn't an issue. If I'm using gps I won't be going that fast when looking for directions and it hasn't distorted the view so far. I have a popsocket detachable wallet on the back of my phone case that I do remove when placing it in the mount for a more secured hold. My phone does block the radio screen but I can still adjust the volume knob- for older folks who actually need to see the radio, this may be a con but for me, I've always used a bluetooth connection and use my phone for music, so it doesn't affect me. With free returns I'd definitely give this a try if you think adhesive mounts or cupholder mounts aren't working out for you. I'm really impressed with this. ... show more

I am about to buy for a 4th time. I have bought for my vehicle, every other vehicle in my family and one for my friend. So, I guess I love it. They hold firmly, stay in place at the angle you set and i absolutely love the one touch. This is probably the main reason I don't buy a different brand. It don't think i've ever had to replace the sticky pad. If it atops sticking, you give it a wash with regular hand soap and it is good as new. I live in hot climate. Especially in August it is very hot. The direct scorching sun on it softens the sticky pad and the mount has fallen off a couple if times. I just put it back on the dashboard and it stays. If I use AC, this doesn't happen. It is definitely worth the buy. ... show more

This car mount phone holder works extremely well. It is quick and easy to mount onto your dashboard. Once mounted, you put your phone up to the 'arms' and push it back, the arms will 'snap' and grab your phone and hold it in place. You can adjust the height and the direction you want your phone to be set. To release your phone just pinch the arms inward and your phone will be released. I have had a few different phone mounts in the past (all using vent clips) and this one by far works better. It doesn't block the air coming out of your air vent and it doesn't constantly fall. Have been using this for about a month and am pretty happy with it thus far. Bought iOttie based on good reviews of their phone mounts by Wirecutter. So this mount, even with the arm fully extended, didn't have the length necessary to attach low on my vehicle's windshield where it could keep my phone easily visible without blocking my view (needs to be several inches longer to be a feasible windshield mount for my car) and reviews had me worried it wouldn't stick to the textured and curved dashboard. HOWEVER, there's a smooth, flat-ish plastic area on the dash just in front of the display (and extends a bit to the right of the display) that turned out to be the perfect mounting spot! The suction cup by itself attached SUPER securely to that area - no adhesive pad needed, and no worries about damaging the dash with adhesive - and with the arm fully extended, the placement puts my phone in just about the perfect spot. Very happy it worked out! Not sure if other vehicles have a similar flat-ish smooth plastic area. In terms of functionality, the mount holds my iphone very securely and seems high quality. Do not see any flimsy parts like foam or the like that could break down quickly. One star off because: 1) The info is misleading in that the arm itself does not extend 8", it's only 6.75". Eight inches refers to the total length from where the unit is suctioned to the where the phone sits. 2) The spring action that powers the sides of the mount to snap onto the sides of the phone when its inserted is kinda harsh and with a newer phone I’d worry about potential damage to the phone. Not a huge deal because with two hands and slightly more effort that mechanism can be avoided, but would've been nice if it was a bit gentler. Overall def recommend. ... show more

I bought two of these, one for our Camry and the other for our Tundra. The one in my Camry earns the distinction as my favorite phone holder I've ever owned—and I've been through several—including other suction cup-type holders, vent attachment-type holders, CD player-inserted holders, clipped-to-the-dash holders, and attached-to-your-rearview mirror holders. None of them were as good as this one, in my view. The one in our Tundra has done okay but, unfortunately, the entirety of that vehicle's dash is curved, so it's been difficult to get the base to remain completely flat. Still, it holds up pretty well. The reality is, between the curved dashed and the enormity of our two phones, we're arguably asking too much of any suction cup-type holder in that particular vehicle. All things being equal, this is a solid phone holder that accommodates nearly any phone size, even the behemoths that are common nowadays. ... show more
