I’ve used different car mounts before, but they always had issues—weak magnets, clips that slipped, or designs that made it hard to attach my phone. This one keeps my phone secure even on bumpy roads. The cable holder is a great touch and keeps my cables neat. I don’t have to worry about my phone falling while driving anymore. Make sure your phone case is rated for magsafe. I tried multiple car holders and this is the only one that stuck. It’s never fallen off. The phone, however, falls off occasionally if my car goes over big humps in the road, so I took off a star for that. It’s rare and stays on 90% of the time. I like the swivel function, easy to mount portrait or landscape. The clips slide in easy and stay firmly attached. They remove easily. Clean look when phone is detached. ... show more

I purchased this mount in July of 2023 when I had an iPhone 11. 2.5 years later and various iPhone models (iPhone 14 pro max, iPhone 16 pro max) the mount continues to hold up and work like day one very secure and stable. No signs of any of the magnets giving up. Definitely a purchase worth it.

    • Simple, fairly effective, overpriced
Note that this thing is only a holder. It has no charging capabilities of its own, so for that you'd need to plug a cable directly into the phone itself. Belkin does offer other models with built-in MagSafe charging. I'm using this model to mount an iPhone 13 Mini on the passenger side of the center dashboard vents in a 2016 Volvo XC60. If I had a Belkin model with MagSafe charging, I'd still need a separate USB cable any time I wanted a wired data connection. The holder is simple to install, just push it all the way into a vent. You may need to fiddle a bit to make sure the weight of the phone does not pull the vent down from your desired viewing position. Make sure the holder is all the way in. The "integrated cable management" slot on the back is too narrow or stiff to easily accommodate my USB-to-lightning cable. My cable looks like the kind Apple provides with new iPhones (that is, the kind with a white rubbery jacket, not a soft braided jacket). A thinner cable, or one with a different kind of insulation jacket, should work fine. The plastic holder doesn't seem sturdy enough to survive being dropped on a hard surface (not that I've tried). I suppose it's sturdy enough for the intended purpose. So far, it has held the phone just fine for a couple drives. It easily swivels between portrait and landscape positions. Summing up: it's a handy device. I'm glad to have it, although at the current full retail price ($39.99) IMO it is way overpriced for what it is. ... show more

    • Weak magnets
This is a great looking device, and it grips onto the air vent nicely. However, the strength of the magnets are not great. Much weaker than the Apple MafSafe charger, which alms very securely to my device. For the price point this was quite disappointing. The weak magnets make it challenging to find the exact position that will make it stay attached when driving, and even then the phone will occasionally fall off over larger bumps.
