For me - this is a 2nd "auxiliary" phone mount I purchased and installed on the dash of Freightliner truck I drive/use at work. I have a more expensive RAM "X" Mount that I use most of the time - but that takes two hands to get the phone in and out of. This isn't as secure - but is secure enough to drop the phone in, still be able to see the screen and then quickly grab the phone again.. I use this one mostly when I know I'll be grabbing the phone and putting it back down a few times - and the other RAM mount when im driving. This will and does work for that too, but I bought it specifically as a quick in and out - one handed use - phone mount. It's decent quality for the price and comfomed to the slightly rounded area of the dash I have it stuck onto. The inability to adjust the angle might be an issue or concern depending where you mount this - but for me it's working out fine. My time in the truck is split between driving and waiting - so for me - I use the RAM mount when im driving and this one while I'm sitting around waiting and messing with phone more often. I'm sure it can be and is used by many people as a primary phone mount - but with something like this - you're kinda stuck with whatever angle and position your dash board will ALLOW it to provide you with. It MIGHT not sit at a good angle and allow the phone to vibrate around or flop down as you drive. There's ZERO adjusment available if it's not how you'd like it to be - so keep that in mind. I have a ram mount for a gps and another for my phone screwed right into the dash (it's a large utility work truck, not a Lexus) and I can angle them however I want and drive over curbs or slam into potholes without either of them moving because they are so secure. This mount - the phone is just kind laying in it with minimal support - but I WANTED that so I could just grab the phone and push it back into the mount 10 times without getting annoyed or needing both hands to do that. This would be a great option for someone who works at a desk. It's minimal, simple, and you'd have the option of sticking it onto the desk or not even using the sticky pad so you can slide it around or move it somewhere else. Not pretty but it gets the job done. Inexpensive. Easy to apply and use. Not at all attractive and not removable when not in use (technically yes, but that means saving the release sheet to put the adhesive on when you remove it, and keeping it clean). And that's the other downside. I uses adhesive "tape". It's claimed to be cleanly removable, but I haven't tried removing it. It holds the phone well and is easy to use. Not adjustable, so if it's at a bad angle in your car there's not much you can do about it. I have it in an early Miata and I didn't have to disassemble the dash or drill a hole in it, which so many other highly touted holders for the Miata require. ... show more

Having had tried multiple suction cup arm style phone mounts that eventually failed and detached due to the Florida heat, I gave this thing a try and let me tell you…. This is the absolute best thing I’ve bought for my car. It doesn’t move. At all. It grips the phone in place even when driving at high speed with the top down. Great for my phone, since with the heavy duty case its a bit oversized. Lacks real holding power for heavier phones unless the stay slanted toward the base support. If you use the adhesive mount and place it where it forces the phone to shift its weight back towards the base it works fantastic. Sadly the dash of my truck isn't exactly flat so if I stop short or am on a bumpy road it has a tendency to come lose and may fall out completely. This isn't a knock on the mount, but rather a circumstance issue with the fit to my Silverado dashboard. The adhesive is quite strong, so the mount stays put. The rubber grip on the phone also holds well for the weight of my phone and case. My only issue is with the bottom reliant gripping of the mount on the phone makes it less efficient for larger/heavier phones. Overall I'm satisfied with the product and would recommend it, particularly if you use your phone for GPS is landscape mode. Easy to keep clean and the adhesive seems to withstand the heat from the vehicle climate as well as the concentrated heat from direct sunlight. ... show more
