Wednesday, November 29, 2023 Negatives: --------- 1. The Parts List shows seven items including a screwdriver for adjusting the volume. The screwdriver was not in the box. (The screwdriver in a glasses-repair toolkit should work. Otherwise, purchase a 1.0 mm slotted screwdriver.) 2. The miniature screwdriver is needed for volume adjustment which is not convenient. It means pulling each hearing aid from your ear repeatedly to get the sound right. 3. It is hard to see the tiny screwface on the hearing aid. Also, a very small turn makes a large change in volume. 4. Nothing I do gets rid of the whistling sound. I can stop it momentarily by manipulating the device in my ear but, when I move my head, the whistling comes right back. At times, it is loud enough for others in the room to notice and stare. 5. I can reduce the whistling by turning down the volume to the point where the hearing aids are helpful in ordinary conversations. However, the problem does not go away. The devices keep whistling intermittently in my ear. 6. The fact that the devices cannot be adjusted remotely, no Bluetooth, is not a criticism. The hearing aids came as advertised. However, the need to remove the device from your ear in order to adjust the volume is a significant disadvantage. 7. A small, picky annoyance is the case does not stand up and the lid does not stay open when I am attempting to put the hearing aids away or take them out. Positives: --------- 8. The packaging is nice. 9. Delivery was prompt. 10. The price is relatively low. I am still working on making adjustments this afternoon but I am losing hope that a satisfactory tradeoff between sufficient volume and eliminating the whistling can be achieved. I will let you know if I have to return the hearing aids. ... show more
