This is a very well-built strong awning that is somewhat easy to assemble. Since I don't speak French or German I found online a video in English that showed how to assemble it. My Son and I had it up and in place within forty-five minutes. I like that it is portable and can be moved. I've had to retract the awing a couple of times because of high winds and storms. If you don't have the right pitch for water to run off it will accumulate on the awing. I like that it is UP-50 and UV resistant as well as waterproof. It will stand up to rain showers well if the pitch is right but not strong winds, heavy rain, or snow. Except for the foreign instructions, I'm well pleased with this awning.

I ordered the 108" awning to put up along my garage to shade my young plants fron the harsh summer sun. Set up is fairly easy. It can be done by one person but having a second person will simplify things. Instructions are complete but illustrations only. Use your cordless driver to attach the screws on the roller. Do pay attention to the direction of the fabric and the arms as you install - otherwise you'll have to redo it because you put them together backwards... The ability to install the awning without drilling into your home is wonderful. I wish they had these when I was renting. The support posts have several set heights, but for me one was just a touch to tall and the next was a good amount too short - I compensated by using bricks at the base. It would be nice if these offered a bit spring tension for applications just slightly off in height. As it is, just have some blocks of varying thickness handy to get a snug fit. The adjustable height arms are nice, especially if you have an overhang. I was able to set the angle just right so when winding/unwinding the awning it does not scrape against the overhang. The awning will shade my plants from the harsh afternoon sun nicely.

eviewing HOMEDEMO Manual Retractable Awning 118"x118", Our side patio off our main bedroom has no shade. We have a glass door, with a side window on both sides of the door, almost floor to ceiling. That adds a lot of heat into the room. In the summer, it’s too much. In the winter, it’s perfect, which is why we don’t want to put a permanent gazebo or pergola up on this patio. This awning is the perfect solution. It was simple and easy to install, even with just one person doing it. It is tension based, so you don’t need to drill into your house. The awning is easy to put down or retract back up and the amount its out is easily adjustable also. The awning itself is thin, so I don’t recommend leaving it out in weather, whether snow or wind. Always retract it when not in use. It is waterproof, so rain does not seep through and it does a great job of blocking the sun. For the price, it’s a great value and the fact that it’s easy to install and no drilling is required, makes this a near-perfect choice for an awning.

First of all, the assembly of this item will be MUCH easier with 2 people. I don't see how one person can possibly hold all those items together and get it in place. The instructions are horrible. The cover infers that the directions will be in three languages, however, the few spots that actually have written instructions are only in French or German. I guess those that speak English are supposed to be able to follow the assembly diagrams that are similar to a large store that is known for cartoon-like instructions. There were several points where we thought we did it right, but then could not get the pieces to line up properly. I think the worst was the bottom adjusting tension portion - that took forever to get it to work right. Once we finally got it together and in place properly, I was really pleasantly surprised. The grey color matched our patio cover nicely. It will allow us to give shade across one whole side of the patio. Putting the awning up and down is simple enough. I was able to do it alone, and there's even Velcro that allows you to fold back the edge piece so it's not flapping around in the wind when completely rolled up. This is decent quality for the price, and certainly fits our needs. I just wish the instructions had been much easier to follow.

This awning is wonderful for the side of your home. It wasn’t too difficult to install. I placed mine in my backyard to provide extra shade for my dog. It’s made with sturdy materials. This awning could be used to create a breakfast nook or cute place to sit and read. It’s aesthetically pleasing and helpful: the perfect combination.
