  • Excellent Quality and Ease of Installation
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug NACS (For Tesla EVs)
This item replaced a previous ChargePoint HomeFlex charger that died after approximately eight years. I purchased another because I was pleased with the quality and ease of installation, and hoped to replicate that experience with my new Tesla. The app works as described and is responsive. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Electric utility rebate scam
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug NACS (For Tesla EVs)
For a leading charging company this is a pretty bad wall unit. 1. Plastic finish. Don’t expect this to last long in an office or any shared environment. 2. WiFi chip from a cereal box. I bet I could get better router components from a cereal box. My car connects fine. The ChargePoint bitches despite having a WiFi router right next to it. 3. Bad mobile app. Bad failover. No failover! If it can’t talk to WiFi it can’t work at all unless you want trickle charge. Just use your damn Tesla Mobile Connector and deal with the 35A limit. 5A/h isn’t worth the hassle or expense this thing comes with and Comed can keep their stupid rebate ... show more

  • Works reliably after one year Works reliably after one year
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug NACS (For Tesla EVs)
I use it inside my garage and it works just fine on my Tesla, no issues after one year of use. The cord feels sturdy and flexible considering the thickness required for the high current . The cable only gets slightly warm to the touch while charging - so that's good. The device connects to my home WiFi and this allows me to get the NJ discount for off-peak charging. One small quibble, the colored light on the front provides the status of the device, and I'm sure this is a cost savings over having a status display, but who remembers the meaning of the eight different status indications? Tip: I printed out a cheat sheet and stuck it on the front as a reminder. Tip#2 If you want to make use of off-peak charging, you need to use the ChargePoint app to set the desired charging time, not the similar Tesla feature. ... show more

  • Great product
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug NACS (For Tesla EVs)
We had this same unit installed in our previous home so bought it again when we moved. We had a little concern at first when it was charging somewhat slowly but tech service told us we needed to go online and sign in to make the adjustment. Very easy to install and use.

  • Easy to install. Works GREAT
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug NACS (For Tesla EVs)
I bought the wall plug-in version for use with my Hyundai Ioniq 9. I love it. I'm far from handy. I have only the most basic of tools. It took me an hour to install. Anyone who's the least bit handyman do it. I already had the 220v plug. I mounted the charger to the wall, connected a few wire, and downloaded the app. For me, the install was a big accomplishment (hahahaha). I absolutely recommend it. ... show more

  • Unit was dead on arrival. SPREETAIL will not completely refund it
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug NACS (For Tesla EVs)
Unit was dead on arrival. Won't connect with any phone. Apparently my unit is one of the ones that has a known "boot loop" problem with the firmware. ChargePoint will swap it out, but I already paid for the electrician to hardwire this in. Now I have to pay him to come again and remove it/install another one. At this point, I don't feel like rolling the dice and maybe getting ANOTHER ChargePoint with the same problem. Ugh. What's worse, the seller, SPREETAIL, charged me a large restocking fee when I sent the item back, claiming that it was in used condition. OF COURSE IT WAS IN USED CONDITION! I had to have an electrician install it to even discover it was broken. This is a TOTAL RIPOFF. SPREETAIL is not standing behind their product. They're acting like they could somehow resell this item if I had just returned it unused. But the now KNOW the unit came broken from the manufacturer and if they are really going to sell it again, the next buyer is going to have the same problem. This is totally dishonest by SPREETAIL. They need to return my full payment and return the item to the manufacturer, so they can also get full reimbursement ... show more

  • The bluetooth / Wifi was dead on arrival.
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug NACS (For Tesla EVs)
Do not buy this for the "smart" functionality, because there is a good chance it won't work on arrival. The unit I ordered couldn't be connected via bluetooth, which is needed to add it to your wifi network. No way to troubleshoot or fix it, call ChargePoint and they ask you to restart it 5 times then they will send you a new one. I started reading that a lot of other customers have had this exact issue, with some people getting new ones with broken bluetooth / wifi cards on brand new units. Whatever networking hardware they are using, it's terrible. You can easily get other "smart" lvl 2 chargers for $200 less. This is not necessarily a cheap charger, for the price the quality is just not there. With that being said, if you just want a good lvl 2 non-smart charger it's pretty good. The unit can either be hardwired or use a plug, it's modular. The same with the charging cable itself, you can order one with NACS or J1772 or you could swap them out later. ... show more

  • Charges fine, but WiFi stops working a few weeks after install
Style: NEMA 14-50 Plug NACS (For Tesla EVs)
As others have mentioned, it does the most important task - charging. The downside is the WiFi and Bluetooth stop working, and that’s the only way to manage the device. ChargePoint customer service also only provides phone support, but doesn’t seem to answer the calls.
