Unfortunately Mom found the back ground noise harsh , but with the TV off It was good for talking. Also the ear piece just keeps falling out of the ear, even with the smaller size. Plugging and unplugging with arthritic fingers , too hard . A hook around the earpiece and different plug/ jack design , maybe? ... show more

I bought this for my church. We have a couple of guests from time to time who have a hard time hearing. I thought it would be good to have this on hand in case it was needed. It turned out to be a big hit. It's not a hearing aid in the traditional sense. It's actually a sound amplifier. It doesn't need to be calibrated for each user so it's perfect for what we needed. I use this product as an alternative to other types of hearing aids. The audio has a very tinny sound, meaning it sounds like you're listening through a tin can. The sound quality isn't very good but it's still useful for listening to TV or most conversations. It has noise gating, which means the amplification doesn't kick in at very low sound levels. That feature operates ok. It gave plenty of amplification and this type of hearing aid won't break out into feedback oscillation under normal use. It does not work very well in a noisy restaurant The earphone fit well into my ear and doesn't fall out. It's more noticeable than other types of hearing aids. I bought a cheap bluetooth style amplifier 10 years ago that had better sound quality but that one fit poorly and had a poor volume control. ... show more

I have been using these for APD for a few weeks now, so here are my thoughts on this device. I absolutely love the device until the headphone pops out of my ear. This happens constantly. This happens with all three sizes of ear plugs. If they had something that would fit and stay in my ear for more than a few minutes at a time, I would give Star it immediately. I would almost give it one star because this device can only be used with their terrible headphone. I have bought 2 of these hearing aids, one for each car, but like many seniors, I have already lost all of the domes. See the photo and you will see why they fall off so often and have also lost one of the receivers. The receiver end needs to be designed to hold on to the domes and they come off much too easily. 94 yr old Grammy lost her latest set of hearing aids and her kids won't get her a new one. She can hear close to nothing. Until yesterday I had to sit on her right side and speak loudly into her ear. Yesterday I brought her this amplifier and she had tears because it's been so long since she could hear. We tested it and playing with the volume she could hear me from 15 ft away.
