Bought these for my Mother who is 86 has sever hearing loss. I opened them up and charged them, set volume on high. Took them to my mother the next day she put them in her ears on her own and could here fine. Love these ear plugs, plus they have directions which she read, which helps. The only thing that is a negative about these ear plugs is they need a charger that goes into the wall, along with a longer cord connection. Fortunately I had a old cell phone charger that I was able to use her ear plug charger cord to plug into the cell phone charger. My Mom has an IPad and their cord would not work on it!

I sent the following review three weeks ago. In response, I had emails from Amazon and UEars saying a refund would be processed. I sent a return email, asking for the RA to make the return, and never heard back. I'm very disappointed in Amazon and UEars, and am unlikely to do business with either company in the future. Antitrust laws are supposed to prevent companies like Amazon from developing such a monopoly that it is virtually impossible to do business without them, but that's just a failing of the system. I'll try to find a way. I'm cancelling my Prime subscription. "I was able to get them to work one time. I have a slight hearing loss in one ear and thought these might help. After charging, I used them once at home to see if they worked. The next night, I was at a crowded restaurant so thought I'd try them. They seemed to work, amplified the ambient noise as well as the people I was talking to, so they didn't really help that much. The next time I tried them was at home when I had some music I like on the stereo, so thought I'd try to see if they helped me distinguish the sounds better. They whistled when I put them in, but then were totally dead. Turning them up or down didn't help. As ear plugs, they're great -- can't hear a thing when they're in. But as amplifiers, they suck. Sadly, now I'm four days past the 28-day return period. OUCH! DON"T BUY THESE HEARING AIDS!!"

The left ear piece stopped working all of a sudden. I have to use the right ear piece on my left side now.

These hearing aids only amplified the sound in the room, which gave my husband a lot of loud white noise. We didn't really expect much for the price though, just thought we'd try them. The directions were so confusing that video and audio techs at my husband's work had to program them, but they hit a wall and my husband was going to have to take them to an audiologist to program. The audiologist confirmed that they were just amplifiers, and he needed legit hearing aids.

This is our 4th pair for my elderly Dad. They work well, but the last 2 sets just will not stay in his ear canals no matter what I try. Which means you hear high pitched squealing. Can’t use them so last 2 pairs were a waste.
