I typically love these very small in-ear hearing amplifiers that are a poor man's version of a hearing aid. Sadly, this one was disappointing. It came charged, which was great, but it has some sort of hum or very low frequency noise that I could hear over whatever else I was listening to. I did not like it and it was quite disturbing. Another thing I did not like was the fact that this is only in one ear, and not paired up. I thought I would not mind the single ear effect, but I hated it and found it distracting. I liked that this included the USB charging cord AND a small slim a/c charging brick (see photos)... kudos for including that. The charging case is cute and it included a small screwdriver and extra silicone ear buds to help select the appropriate in-ear size. This is relatively plug and play -- easy to use and easy to recharge. Overall, I think this is decent and I would have like to give this 3.5 stars, as slightly above average. I generously rounded up to 4 stars, but I would not select this again and I would not recommend this single unit. Hope this helps! :-) ... show more

Adjust your expectations and you'll be happy with this item. Although it may look like the more expensive "in-the-ear" type of hearing aid, this simply amplifies and will amplify ALL sounds... they aren't fine tuned to only amplify certain frequencies. As a result, things can sound a bit "tinny" but, as affordable hearing aids go, this will certainly improve the quality of someone's life compared to having nothing at all. --- For my purposes, this is for my aunt who lives in a nursing home. She loves them. The affordable price makes it ideal for nursing home residents because hearing aids are frequently lost or misplaced by residents with dementia and limited mobility. But if that happens, the affordable price makes these easy to replace. FAVORITE FEATURE: Easily rechargeable in the storage box. NO batteries needed! VERY CONVENIENT!! While this hearing aid does amplify voices, the sound is awful. If you get anywhere near another speaker of any type be prepared for a startling feedback noise. The earpiece does not fit in my ear very well at all. In fact, it falls out most of the time, and I'm always have to push it back into my ear. While this isn't touted as such, it's definitely not one of those sleek, nearly invisible hearing aids. As long as you cage your expectations on what you get for the amount you pay you should be ok. It amplifies sounds, but doesn't have the expected features of many hearing aids on the market today. I would classify this more of a sound booster, than a true hearing aid. I got this hearing aid as a cheaper alternative to extremely expensive dr prescribed brands. Obviously the fit and sound are going to be very subjective but it's really good for the price. If you need something to get by or something that you want to use in place of your expensive ones in certain situations, this is great. Its rechargable and easy to operate and adjust volume.
