This little pan is great for small portions. I use it for three-egg omelets, or a single fried egg. I also make pancakes in it - one at a time. I can do a pancake stack very quickly. This is supposed to be pre seasoned, but I went ahead and did my own seasoning process before I used it. Nothing special, I use Crisco at 400F for an hour. Did it twice. used it for a couple of over-easy eggs the next morning and they didn't stick and slid off the pan no problem. I did use butter in the pan as you should for eggs just to be clear. This is similar in quality to Lodge products, at least for the 6" size. What really impressed me was the heat uptake. I have a flat glass IR range top. I don't know if it's the black color or the cast iron, or both, but this pan heated up in no time. And I mean heated UP! The dial is a 1-10 range. With my non-stick pans I usually cook (fry/sauté) around a 4 setting, but this pan was over 500F at the 4 setting, pushing 575F at 5h3 5 setting. Eggs we done perfectly at 2-3 setting. I know the numbers are relative, but the difference between the cast and my non-stick (Calphalon) was a surprise. Really enjoying the pan. Great pan has slightly smaller diameter but higher flatter sides vs Lodge. Needed to sand down using 80 grit sand paper due to roughness. then 4 rounds of light coat with Crisco and 425 degree for one hour in toaster oven flipped upside down to have a good preseason.

I ordered this to cook a 6" brie in. It did not fit in the pan. Listing states it is a 6.5 inch pan, but even at its widest part at the top. it was smaller than 6" and the bottom was less than 5". Buyer beware
