  • Well worth the extra cost. Very happy with the product. Great features.
Style: Pan + Lid Size: 12-inch
I brought a 10 inch fry pan direct from HexClad, I liked it so much I just brought a 12 inch pan on Amazon. I have had the 10 inch pan for about a week and I love it. I own a parrot and PTFE/PFOA, when overheated creates a deadly gas for birds so chemical free was a priority. I have a large gas grill with heavy iron grates so durability and even heating matters. Normally, I find celebrity endorsed products to be "gimmicky," but not here. The pans are very well made and even aesthetically pleasing. The black patterned surface with stainless trim looks good and hides staining. The pan is solid and moderately heavy and the handle is big making it good for large hands. It's ability to withstand 900 deg. (as advertised ) in an oven is a feat. With regard to its non-stick qualities, it is very good provided you follow the simple seasoning instructions and follow their heat recommendations. If you do, eggs, meats and sauces slip right off and you only need a soft sponge to clean the pan. The pan heats very quickly and evenly. HexClad claims that medium heat has the cooking effect as high heat which is true so you must be careful with you heat levels or you will burn the food. The pan finish feels diamond hard and slippery-smooth despite the embossed pattern. I used a steel fork to scramble eggs. There was not a mark or a scratch so their claim that you can use metal utensils is true (within reason). Still, I prefer hard, nylon utensils. There was alot of hype about this product and for once the hype is true. I cook alot and have invested in many high-end pans. HexClad is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I have not owned this product long enough to judge it's durability (which I suspect is good), I will edit this review in 6 months in that regard. UPDATE- After a month of heavy use, the pans look new and remain easy to clean. As it turns out, like with any pan, if you don't burn food onto the pan, use oil or butter, you food will not stick, the pan will not stain and remain easy to clean. HexClad is a good, heavy duty pan for people who know how to cook. You can even sear meats on them with good results. Still, as these pans transmit heat quickly, controlling heat makes a big difference. ... show more

  • Incredible!
Style: Pan + Lid Size: 12-inch
I've owned a lot of cookware. Everything from low end Faberware stuff to higher end copper bottomed stainless, and obviously cast iron. Until now cast iron has been my favorite, but it's a bit of a pain to maintain and super heavy. The Hexclad out performs anything I've ever owned and 0 maintenance. Once I received my pan I put it through it's paces. Eggs? Slid in pan like they were ice skating. Cheese? Seemed like it was going to sick at first, but released easily with no sticking. I tried a marinated steak next because I wanted to sear and finish in oven to test oven performance. The marinade had high sugar content so I was prepared for some scorching and burned on residue. It cooked evenly and beautifully. There was a bit of burn on left but most wiped easily with a paper towel the rest came right off with a couple of minute soak. I've barely used my cast iron since getting this. I can't say enough. I'm hoping to try some of their other products, especially knives very soon. These are pricey, but so worth it for versatility and no maintenance. ... show more

  • LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
Style: Pan + Lid Size: 8-inch
This pan is durable, scratch resistant- I know because I tested this pan out with metal utensils. You have to be careful when cooking with these pans because they cook alot faster due to the heat distribution and they take a little longer to cool down. It is like cast iron on steroids. Oh and I did I mention you can use them in the oven too. The one thing most of us on well water cringe about is whether or not pans will rust when we wash them. I have had my pans for some time now, washed them so much, and not one has rusted. Guaranteed this will be the last pan you buy. ... show more

  • Read the Directions
Style: Pan Size: 12-inch
I was very hesitant to purchase this pan because of the price and the fact that most of the hybrid pans on Amazon are more of a wok than a skillet (been burned twice). So my wife got me the pan for Father’s Day and I’ve been using it for about two weeks. So far it has been excellent. Like everything new, it takes getting used to - you cook at a much lower temp with this pan than most. It cleans very easily. No scratches or discoloration what-so-ever. I’ve made hamburgers, steak, quesadillas, eggs, bacon, Rubens, and various sauces and rues so far. The only problem I’ve had has been with shaved ham, but that’s just the way ham is. I would definitely recommend this skillet - just be sure to read the directions before you use it and all should go well. ... show more

  • Worth it!
Style: Pan + Lid Size: 12-inch
My last set of 'high end' non stick cookware only lasted 3 years and I am done getting new pans so often. I have a stainless steel set that is 20+ years old and a cast iron skillet that is more than 50 years old, but my wife doesn't like using or cleaning them so we needed a new pan. I did research on the Hexclad and similar pans. I bought a competing set from Costco and ordered the Hexclad for a comparison - mainly to show the wife that the extra cost for Hexclad wasn't worth it. I took the Costco set back. The overall fit, finish, and construction was much better and the Hexclad was a bit heavier. This made for a far more even heat distribution across the pan, even on my crappy electric cooktop. I cooked burgers on both and then cleaned them with soap and water. Once cool I put both pans back on the stove, cranked the heat, and dropped a handful of shredded cheese on the pan. No additional fat or oil added. The cheese slid around on both easily. Next, I fried and egg. The cook on the egg on the Hexclad was more even while I had to fuss around more on the Henkels from Costco. Overall performance between both is almost identical, but the better heat distribution and the lifetime warranty on the Hexclad sealed the deal for me. No more getting new pans every couple of years! ... show more
