When I moved out to live on my own, I never thought that I would learn to love cookware. Well, I am old now, and I have learned to love cookware--these pans specifically. They are heavy as hell. I love that, the weight. They are red and black. I love that too. Good colors. They heat evenly. They cook evenly. I didn't know that crappy pans were making me a bad cook before. They were. I bought these pans in hopes of ridding our household of any kind of Teflon or pfoa in our cookware. I was worried they would not be non stick. They aren’t too hard to clean as long as you clean them right away. They are a little on the heavy size and the small one is really really small. The green color is too retro for me but I kept them anyway. Overall good price for a good product. I would reccomend ... show more

Have been wanting a set of skillets for a long time. These work really well and they have been pre-seasoned. However you will need to season them a few times again to get the polymerisation to happen properly. They are solid metal and retain heat well. I’ve used them for deep pan pizzas and other dishes and they are excellent. Just be sure to not leave food in them (this is true for all cast iron pans) as they will rust. ... show more

Solid. The smallest pan is too small to make anything. It would work as a wall hanging though. If this is your first set and like me, you want to see what all the hype is about, then this is it. If your as "seasoned" as having one before... you'll be a bit disappointed. However...I only wish I had paid more attention to the sizes it came in.. The price for this solid, quality set was too good to pass up. Normally one would expect to pay that price for 1piece like this( maybe a frying pan?), but there are 3 pieces. Gave to my son as a gift that he can abuse over and over again!

They are a good value for the money you will spend . Anyone who is having issues with them , here's what you need to know . First , they have a rough finish , as they are pre-seasoned . What did I do ? Sanded that off . It's not terrible , and will give you that smooth finish you want . Most cast iron that you buy today comes pre-seasoned . Then I washed it with mild dish soap ( think Ivory , or Dawn ) and WARM to HOT soapy water . Dry it using non lint cloth ( cut up on old clean t-shirt ) . Then to make sure it's perfectly dry turn on a burner on medium and sit the pan on it for 5 minutes . While that's going on I also turned my oven on to 400 degrees . It's important to make sure that your pans are perfectly dry so I took the extra precaution of putting them into the oven for 10 minutes . Take them out using oven mitts , oiled them down using some clarified butter (unsalted ) making sure that I wiped down the whole pan , sides , bottom , handle , etc . Now wipe off extra oil put the pans into the oven upside down and bake for one hour . Also put them on the middle rack and line the bottom rack with tinfoil . Repeat the oiling down process and baking process 2 more times . You now have a base seasoning , and a smooth surface . It will now clean up really easy . To do that , run the pan under hot water , will it's hot , NEVER use cold water ,( it will crack ) , use a wooden spoon to scrape off any food , use a lint free cloth ( piece of clean old cut up t-shirt ) , to dry it and stick it on a turned on burner or turned on oven for 5 minutes . That's it . When cast iron heats up it is self cleaning , also it won't rust . Over time you will get the black patina that you want . Then you can even cook acidic foods like tomato-based sauces in it . ... show more
