It’s heavy cast iron, and cleans very easily. The box it came in was subpar as the enamel was chipped. Doesn’t hurt the function of the pot, and I think I may need to purchase a better knob for the lid as it won’t tighten enough to keep from coming loose.

This dutch oven is great. Going to retire my grandma’s old pot. I am impressed and looking at other cookware options. Not sure what the difference is between this and the $300+ “brand name” versions. I love the fact that this Dutch oven can hold a decent amount of stew the weather here has been great for stew weather I love the color purple and you just can’t beat the price my Dutch oven is shown with the Baltique Mumbai spoons and I think they are just meant for each other color wise oh and did I mention you can buy all these pieces Dutch oven and Baltique mixing spoons all from Amazon it really does make me smile from a-z Amazon is a great place for housewares and accessories I look forward to doing more business here as I am just an infrequent customer the packing was great no chips or dents on the pot and it came very quickly one of the cons that may prevent you from purchasing is that it’s really heavy as mine is cast iron but don’t let that bother you my other photo is shown with the Waikiki Baltique spoon and I loved this pot so much I came back to purchase a smaller one same brand in purple and a smaller one in teal ombré for everyday use working on getting a picture of the teal pot with the Montego Bay Baltique spoon I purchased all these items at Amazon they really do make you smile from a-z ... show more

Heavy like real cast iron, but none of the procedure. Cleans up easily. Just be aware that if you are like us you have to be a little careful putting multiple of this type of cookware on your glass cooktop at the same time. I prefer to only have 2 max on it at a time. I was very excited to receive this Dutch Oven because my Revereware Heirloom Dutch oven was destroyed by heavy metals in toxic water. This only had distilled water in it to make bone broths and healthy organic veggie soup on the stovetop at a medium setting for slow cooking. At first, I loved this product. It wasn't durable for frequent use 6-7 times a month. It was used 6-7 times a month for 1-2 years. When it started to chip and loose the coating, I don't remember, but at some point it became worse quickly. I recently lost a fragile cat after she drank broth made with the kettle, both I and the other animals are it first. I've criticallylooked at everything I and the mfg of the food might have overlooked. I can't in good conscience say this product is safe due to the rapid deterioration on the lid and blue coloring in the boiling water. ... show more

Love it! Perfect big soup size! I couldn’t tell you how amazing this is. Haven’t cooked with it inside the stove but stove top is excellent to slow cook. It feels like I am actually cooking (and you can majorly taste the difference) instead of just throwing it in an electric crockpot and not caring.
