This dutch oven is great. Going to retire my grandma’s old pot. I am impressed and looking at other cookware options. Not sure what the difference is between this and the $300+ “brand name” versions. It’s heavy cast iron, and cleans very easily. The box it came in was subpar as the enamel was chipped. Doesn’t hurt the function of the pot, and I think I may need to purchase a better knob for the lid as it won’t tighten enough to keep from coming loose.

Used to bake a round loaf of no-knead Kalamata olive bread. Absolutely delicious: everybody loved it. And I just love seeing it sitting on my stove. It’s such a pretty color purple and just so sweet and round. I have Le Crueset in another house. But I didn’t want to spend the extra money this time. This lovely cast iron pot is lovely. Unfortunately, it arrived damaged, both in & outside the pot & lid. Therefore, we returned it. I should add that as an elderly woman, with arthritis & limited mobility, this pot was VERY heavy.

I am incredibly happy with this purchase. I have never owned a Dutch oven before and when I started baking bread I wanted to buy one. I am typically someone who indulges in the “designer” version if I know it is something I will have for life and never have to purchase again … but the competitor is $400+ and I see zero difference in quality or aesthetic for that matter so the indulgence was not worth it to me. I took my chance and purchased and I am SO HAPPY I did. This product is very heavy and high quality. I have now been using for 10 months and there is no damage (any thing you see on the sides is not permanent and scrubs right off). I purchased the 7 qt and it’s probably larger than I need but now it can be used for more. I love this product! I live in an apartment with a small amount of storage space but if I move I will buy the smaller version as well. Great investment and highly recommend! ... show more

Heavy like real cast iron, but none of the procedure. Cleans up easily. Just be aware that if you are like us you have to be a little careful putting multiple of this type of cookware on your glass cooktop at the same time. I prefer to only have 2 max on it at a time.
