Living in S Florida, we are at the beach almost every weekend, so I’ve seen my fair share of umbrellas snap or fly away. I’ve been honestly impressed with the durability of this system. We had some really gusty afternoons recently and while other people were struggling with their setups, ours stayed rock solid. The ribs feel much more reinforced than the flimsy ones you see at the big-box stores. I was a little worried about some people saying the buttons felt like cheap plastic, but after using it, the material quality feels great to me. Even the canopy fabric is noticeably thicker than what I'm used to, it provides a really deep shade and it’s wide enough to fit two of our full-sized beach chairs and a large cooler with room to spare. The best part for me is the fast install. I can get this deep into the sand and fully set up in under 20 seconds by myself without breaking a sweat. I usually dread being the guy in charge of the beach shade. You either look like an idiot trying to screw a plastic auger into the dirt, spend 10 minutes filling a heavy sandbag, or spend half the day adjusting the pole. I bought this specifically for the hammering anchor, and it’s legit. The bottom pole acts like a weighted driver. It takes almost zero effort and you're done in seconds. We took this out to the coast last weekend in 20mph winds, and it stayed perfectly anchored the entire time. I appreciate the modern look of it too. ... show more

I’m particular about sun exposure and skincare, so I wanted an umbrella with a real UPF rating that wasn't one of those loud, unattractive umbrellas. This has a really clean, minimalist look. Even my boyfriend likes the design and doesn't mind carrying it down to the beach. The shade quality you can see and feel. It feels deeper and cooler, not like those see-through thin materials. The lab-verified UV blocking also gives me peace of mind. But the absolute best feature is the setup. Honestly, I was never able to set up a beach umbrella by myself before. Digging deep holes in the sand is just not my thing, and wrestling with those cheap plastic twist anchors always ruins my nails. With this one, the pole has a slide-hammer built right into it. You literally just pump the handle a few times and it drives the metal anchor straight down. It really does hold great on windy days. I highly recommend it. ... show more

The top pole was gradually damaged, made of very poor material, and it couldn't hold the weight of the umbrella. The lock came loose every minute, it couldn't hold the weight, and to top it off, one windy day at the beach, and it finally broke. I only used it no more than five times. As a lifelong pale Floridian I have used a lot of beach umbrellas but they didn’t stay up or were difficult to put in the sand. Honestly I kinda gave up on the beach. With little ones I decided I needed to try again (besides why live here if you never go to the beach). So I began my search for something that would last, provide coverage for the kids, easy to carry, and not fall on the kids. Also I have adopted a buy it for life philosophy, pay more but it lasts forever. So that led me to this beach umbrella. It’s surprisingly light, easy to setup, and big! We decided to give it a go at the beach. The umbrella was so easy to carry - it comes with a bag that has a padded strap! Setup took no time at all and we had a huge shaded area. Thank goodness as it is hotter than Hades in FL now. It got a little windy and I never worried about it falling over. The best part is that it is easy to get the umbrella and stand back in the carry bag quickly…..like it actually fits without having to Tetris it in!
